Just bought a 2013 ES300H. My question is there a setting that will keep the trunk unlocked when the car doors are unlocked when I do not have my key fob. I am all the time in the garage and will try to open the trunk and it is locked. My previous car an Acura RL was set liked this.

So I have to re-start it every time I get in? Whats the point? I can maybe see the heater for winter or ac for summer but my car is garaged.
Are there any settings within the Vag-com to automatically unlock the doors when you shut the car off? They automatically lock, so surely you can make them unlock?
View 3 RepliesI've looked in the owner's manual, but only find that they exist, no instructions on turning them on. I know I can unlock the doors with the key fob at night and the lights will come on, including the puddle lights on the bottoms of the rear view mirrors. If I touch the door handles instead of using the key fob (my preferred method of unlocking the vehicle), the doors unlock, but the puddle lights do not come on.
I would also like to be able to turn them on when I am getting ready to exit the car, especially so the wife does not step in a puddle.
I am another "got explorer totaled and bought an F150" story. Picked up a 2013 FX4 eco. What a difference 10 years in technology makes, from a 03 exploder to this, wow!
Is there any way to program a 2013 FX4 to honk once with the door lock and twice with unlock? It ahs option pgk 402A with perimeter alarm.
Also does Ford sell a siren add-on so I can tell if it is my truck in trouble? I found DL3Z19A361A Can't find the contents on line and the parts guy does not know what it contains.
I have a 2005 W12 with keyless entry etc. ..etc. I cannot lock /unlock the doors or open the trunk by pressing the regular buttons. I have replaced the battery in my key some months ago. The key that my wife has the same problem...

View 2 RepliesI have replaced the battery and determined that with the key turned off and doors unlocked the battery drain settles down to 130 milliamp after 60 seconds. If you lock the doors it settles down to the expected 20 milliamps after 60 seconds. Any description of what functions are turned off by locking the doors?
View 1 RepliesI did a search and read the manual but I can't seem to figure it out. Is there a way to unlock all of the doors by pushing the unlock button on the key fob once? I see in the manual it can be done I think by turning "remote 2 - press unlock" on in the car settings but it doesn't seem to work. Also am I reading correctly that there are no door unlock sensors on the rear doors? With my LS and my old IS I could touch the rear doors and all of the doors would unlock but this can't be done on the GX?

These frigid WI temps are horrible. I did end up washing my car last weekend because it was full of salt. This morning I pressed the lock on my remote 2 times, nothing happened. Normally the horn sounds off once and the lights flash. I seen the lights flash, but there was no sound coming from the horn..........frozen locks? I came home after work and tried it again. Works fine now.
I am the new owner of a 2015 ES350 and I've found that my trunk can be opened using the button under the trunk lip even when I don't have the key fob in my possession (my 2014 Dodge Charger does the same thing). How to prevent anybody without the key fob in their possession from accessing my trunk?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2014 Lexus IS 250 that is only 10 months old and my key FOB isn't unlocking the doors. I've tried using both keys. I don't think the batteries are dead since the power light still works on both keys, and they are not even a year old. Not to mention it would be very coincidental that both keys would die at the same exact time.
I need to get to work but don't want to get there and not be able to lock my car.
I typically carry my keys in my laptop bag, and on my 09 LS460 when I use to open up the back door by grabbing onto the handle all the doors would unlock. Now on my 08 LS460L when I open up the back door it doesn't open all the doors. Is this some type of setting I can change? Or is this something they changed from 08 to 09?

My friend cleared all faults using VagCom. No change
He selected and deselected child locks. No change

Does it sound like two door handles that have one aspect that is functional and another aspect that is non-functional?
Does it sound like a Kessy issue, even though 4 doors can be locked and 2 doors can unlock?
I have a 2004 GX470, fully loaded. When I shift into drive from park, all my doors automatically lock. However, when I park and shift back into park, the doors do not unlock...I have to manually press the unlock button. Is this how it is supposed to be? I have ridden in later Lexus's where the doors unlock when you shift to park. Or is there a switch or method to get the doors to unlock when shifting into park?

View 10 RepliesSix year old car, 115k on the clock. Starting last week, I've been unable to unlock the doors on the es. Whether it's via the key fob or the sensors on the door handles. I've noticed the behaviour in the morning when it's cold, so I'm assuming it's mechanical. When the weather warms up, everything seems to work again. I've done some research here and while nothing turned up for our es's, I think it might be the actuators for the locks based on responses I've seen from the is and gs owners.
I guess the weird part for me is that all locks but the driver door lock seem to have failed - all at the same time. I can lock, but not unlock. Trying to figure if there's singe common point of failure which would cause three failures simultaneously. Perhaps it's just coincidence? I'm fully prepared to remove the panels and tackle this project.
The manual lists a ton of personalized settings that either you or the dealer can set. Problem is, I can't find in the manual where it describes how to set these personalized settings.
I found that you can set the smart door unlock so that it unlocks all doors instead of just the drivers side. It's pretty easy. You just get close to the car and hold lock and unlock down for about 5 seconds on your key fob. After 5 seconds you will hear two beeps. Two beeps means that all the doors unlock now when you use the smart door. Three beeps means only the drivers side door opens.
I have a 2010 Camry LE. I would like to make the headlights come on when I unlock the doors with the fob button. The interior lights come on now (briefly) but not the headlights. Is this customizable?
