View 2 RepliesI have a 2013 GS, RWD. 33k miles. This is my third Lexus. Wife owns an 05 GX that we will drive till it dies. Had a 2010 RX also. The problem I'm about to describe occurred on the RX and now this GS which makes me crazy. The bottom line is that I have an intermittent noise that comes from the center of my dash. It sounds like someone is clicking a PC mouse very, very fast. It sounds like it is coming from behind the navigation. I've had it to the dealer multiple times and gone all the way to corporate.
The problem is that I have a Murphy's Law situation in that it doesn't occur on demand. I've even sent them a video of the noise but since they don't hear it themselves they won't touch my dash to fix it. Since it had this same noise now on two different vehicles I know it is a manufacturer problem and not just one vehicle. Both cars have navigation.
I bought my GX in Feb of this year. It is a 2009. Today for the first time I noticed that a red vehicle icon with a key inside it was flashing on the dash when the key was removed from ignition. I looked it up and saw it was a security icon showing the system was in security mode. I never had this light flashing until today.?
View 10 RepliesI have a Lexus RX 330 2004 which I recently made some changes to the front end suspension, since then, my car beeps whether i turn or I drive even in straight line beyond 40MPH. The beep comes along with a light in dash with an icon of the car with curves.
I have read something referring to a zero calibration. Which pins to short to perform the calibration? Since I don't have the lexus diagnostic tools, I heard its the CG and TS pins but What pin numbers are the on my 2004 AWD RX 330?
I have a bizarre issue, once the car is running about 20 minutes, the seat belt icon on dash and passenger seat belt light (unoccupied) start flashing. Then the flashing become more like a flickering with a noise. At this time all power windows become sticky and operate under the same bop if you will as the seatbelt light. The doors the will not lock and the alarm will not work. Today it took me about 6 minutes just to close one window and i had to lock the car manually. After a few hours with the car being off, everything works fine again, then another 20 minutes of driving the issue reappears.
View 6 RepliesI noticed this message today. I just had my 10k checkup at the dealership maybe a month and half ago. When I checked the dashboard info, I saw the tire rotation icon red. I reset this and reset the warning message too. I will be changing the tires soon.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2009 Accent. Last year I started to have a hard start issue, very intermittent. It eventually got worse this year.
During the cold, it was never an issue, but during the summer damp or rainy days it occurred quite frequently.
It would turn over, but never start. If I pressed the gas peddle while starting it up, it usually would start the 2nd or 3rd time.
I changed the usual start up components; plugs, ignition coils, cam shaft position sensor, crankshaft sensor, and cleaned the throttle body.
None of those changes worked for the startup. When I removed my throttle body to fully clean it again, I noticed there was an extra air channel into the engine from the TB. Following this, I found the ISCA.
Removing, taking apart, and cleaning the idle speed control actuator seemed to have fixed the issue. It was so caked up with carbon deposit/build up, it couldn't fully rotate.
I used the throttle body cleaner to clean it out and then it began to spin freely (I removed it from the black sensor part first).
Since putting it back altogether, I haven't had a start up issue since.
Here are the notes from the service manual .....
Having intermittent starting on Elantra 2013 Key start model ? After over-nite car will not crank only dash lights come on and on third try (after overhead lights out) it starts ok ? I measured my battery after 6 hrs at 35 degree F , I see 12.4 vlts and about 0.09a draw in main neg cable (car not running). View 8 RepliesIntermittent fuel pump problems in '96 Dodge ram resulted in new fuel pump 50,000 miles ago. Happened again 100 miles ago, so another new fuel pump. Now to start car must turn the ignition on several times before going to the start position. It appears the latest new pump may have defective one way check valve, so the pressure is depleting after turn off. Any favorite brand of fuel pump for the Dodge "pump in the gas tank" arrangement? Or solutions such as installing an external pump to do the work of pumping the fuel?
View 1 Replies1993 Geo Prizm, manual transmission: Intermittent failure to start over a two year period, gradually becoming more frequent. The engine turns over every time the key is turned to start the engine, i.e. the starter motor/battery/battery connections work flawlessly. Once started the engine runs flawlessly without misses or shut downs. The only possible problem may be the engine idle speed that seems at times to be too high even after the engine is warmed up. Without predictability, the engine may fail to start when the key is turned.
Remember the engine still turns over normally. It just does not fire up. Two options exist for my predicament. That which is resorted to the most because of the speed of recovery: step out of the vehicle and push start the car by popping the clutch. The other alternative which I have been forced to utilize before because of the physical impossibility of push starting (i.e. if I had been able to push, I would have popped the clutch to start) at the time has been to wait for a protracted period and re-attempt to key start the car. This has been successful a couple of times.
I recently installed an updated 13.1 navigation disk for my car, all is working well. However on occasion at start up the navigation round icon bounces to a location down the road from my actual location, like I pushed the screen?? However my location on the screen is accurate.
I thought at first I may have pushed a button or something but quickly figured out it does it on its own. I can hit the map button and all is good.
So I tried the old disk and it still does it, in the few months I have had the car its never done this.
So maybe did the new disk screw something up??
I just don't want to push another button to start the navigation since I did not have to do it before.
A/C in my 2015 ES350 (25K miles) has failed 2 times.
1. Outside temp 92 Deg. I start the car and turn on the A/C. It is pumping hot air. I wait 5 min. It is still pumping hot air. I switch it off and start again. It pumps cold air.
2. Outside temp 94 Deg. I start the car and turn on the A/C. It is pumping hot air. I turn it off and on. No luck continued to pump hot air. Next morning out side temp 77 Deg. I start the A/C works fine.
I took it to the dealer. He says unless he can see the failure he cannot do any thing.
My "Maintenance Required" light on the dash is flashing 4-5-6 times when I start up the Prius every time, why?...
I went through all of my Maintenance menu items and most of them arent set to begin with, but the ones that ARE set, still have 4000+ miles til the next service...
How do you change the number of times the lane change blinker blinks. Default is 3. Manual says it can be changed to 5 or 7. Service dept. couldn't do it.
View 14 Replies2003 E300. For a while I have experienced intermittent hesitation and I just put up with it as it was only a bit annoying. It has since worsened to a lot of hesitation and lurching, to the point where, at times, I'm concerned about stalling out and/or getting rear-ended. I took it to my dealer. They installed and ECU update. However, that did not solve the problem. The service manager said that it is an "inherent condition" and it is operating as designed.

View 2 RepliesI recently aquired an f150 from a tenant, it's an 2003 with 219k, v6. When you first start it all the dash lights and needles go berserk and it will only run for a second, if you press the trip button over and over until eventually the lights are solid it starts and runs fine. If you disconnect the battery for a while it will also start and run fine. What this is? Guy also said the intake runner control valve is stuck open, where is that at?
View 2 RepliesI just had a set on HID'S installed in my van but after they were installed i have the burnt out light icon on my dash staying on now is there a way to either pull a fuse to disable it or should i just ignore it and throw a piece on tape over it
Hyperion Bi-Xenon 6000k kit i truly wish i would have done this sooner
With my B6 '09 wagon, when I turn off ESP by pressing the console button, the icon flashes on the dash display and then goes out. Is this working correctly? I would think it would flash when ESP is on and it has encountered slipping and corrected. With the button set to off, I would think the light would stay lit on the dash?
View 24 RepliesUntil about a week ago, when I turned my headlights on, the icon (light bulb) appeared on the dash. Out of the blue, it doesn't. Any clue why? (High beam icon still appears).
