In the 2nd gen forum , there are great instruction son how to change the tranny oil and filter. Are there any DIY threads with pics on how to change the tranny filter/fluid?
View 11 RepliesChanging tranny fluid/filter today, all has been going great until I went to take the filter o-ring out that didn't come with the filter. It will not come out! made a hook tool out of an old tooth brush like someone on here did, o-ring wont budge. Tried a hook pick, it wont dudge (actually bent the tip on the pick and started to tear the o-ring). Everything is ready to go back together and get filled, but this stupid o-ring will not come out!

View 7 RepliesHow do I remove the plastic shelf that is blocking my path to access the cabin air filter? The left side is easily removed by pushing the shelf up but I cannot remove the right side of the shelf.
View 8 RepliesLiving an hour away from the dealership I decided to visit a local shop for an oil change. After the oil change, none of my cell phones would connect to the car. I have never had any issue with Bluetooth connectivity and find it suspect that after the oil change these issues arise. I suspect that someone was trying to reset a service indicator and did something else. How this can be fixed?
View 5 RepliesI read that I can change the start up pics on my GS nav screen when starting the car. I like the default ones but would like to try something new. When I went to transfer my images in the directory, it asked if I really wanted to delete the existing ones. I was under the impression that what is default remains and that I can install new ones also. Does the default ones will be removed from car nav system?

I recently noticed that when I change audio tracks on my phone connected through BT using the controls on the steering wheel, the up arrow goes to next track and the down arrow goes to the previous track. It was opposite this before. When adjusting the radio station, down still goes down to the next station.
I just traded in my 14 IS 350 for 13 GS 350. In my IS, while i'm driving at any speed and change mode from Normal to Sport, i can see the RPM change higher instantaneously. But in 13 GS 350, nothing happens in RPM gauge. Is the 6 and 8 transmission different here ?
View 14 RepliesI am coming from a 2001 Acura CL-S which is a 5 speed automatic, and that car wouldnt' change gears that quickly. I understand cars today change gears frequently to be in the best gear for fuel efficiency?
But I feel like my ES350 changes gears so much, even at the slightest speed change. Is this normal -perhaps it's because I haven't driven a new car since my 2001, 12 years ago! Even the slightest press on the pedal will downshift the car and into the lower gear, even on ECO setting. On my Acura, pressing lightly on the accel pedal didn't result in a lower gear, as I know the engine had more than enough torque.
I also love reliability, and this makes me think the transmission would have a shorter life span with all the shifting. I still haven't asked my dealer about how often to do tranny fluid changes (which I know is a different thread altogether about discussions about "lifetime" fluid).
I just got my 2016 ES300 and I noticed that every time I start the car, the default view goes straight to the navigation screen. Is there a way to change it to something else or to the last screen it was before I turn off the car?
I ask is because in my previous car (Avalon), if I was on the radio screen and I turn off the car and turn it back on again, the radio screen would come up.
How do you change the number of times the lane change blinker blinks. Default is 3. Manual says it can be changed to 5 or 7. Service dept. couldn't do it.
View 14 RepliesDoes the 2014 es300h have a timing belt that requires changing at specific intervals? The dealer told me he thought they are using a timing chain hence no scheduled maintenance.
View 6 RepliesWhere the power steering reservoir is located on an ES 350 (2013)? I am looking to change the fluid out since my steering wheel is making some noise at full lock. I have been looking under the hood for 2 days now and cannot seem to locate it. I have located the brake fluid reservoir which was flushed out today...night and day difference in braking btw. Now this power steering is bugging me but i cant locate the reservoir.

View 14 RepliesI'm getting ready to do my first oil change on my 20011 Camry. I've always had trucks and my other vehicle in a 94 Land Cruiser that is 5" higher than stock. What is the best way to get under the Camry to change the oil and filter?
View 14 RepliesIt appears that after you unsnap the three clips you have to loosen the clamp between the air cleaner box and the intake manifold and separate the air box top from the rubber tube before you can access the air filter. However there appears to be hinges on the back of the air filter box that gave the impression that after you unsnap the three clips you can open the lid.
I have not found any step by step instructions to tell me the correct steps to perform to access the air filter
I've never done it, not even sure where it is located.

View 5 RepliesI am a new V8 Phaeton owner. I have had the car since December and have only put about 2,000 on the car. I have always been the kind of person who takes great pride in doing much of their own maintenance on cars. Plus. How do you get the passenger side air box out to access the oil filter? I can get the upper section apart but can't get the lower section of the airbox out and I am scared to break it.
