With only 4000 miles, the dash lights on our ES350 will go out and stay out until you restart the car. This problem is intermittent which makes it super hard to pin point.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2013 ES350 with 8K miles. Since car has been new, experienced intermittent surging and uneven driving at speeds between 25-40mph. At times the RPM gauge will spike and other times RPM stays stable. It seems like it is searching for the right gear and very noticeable when it does this. I have tried different grades of gas, different driving modes. Nothing works. Problem is inconsistent but persistent.
Also, experiencing cruise control issues going up and down hills where vehicle feels like it trying slow itself down and then shifting hard to maintain speed.
My 2013 ES 350 has stains and pitting on the temperature display and the dash surrounding it. I clean my car myself and use standard cleaning products, so I'm baffled as to what caused this. It could be ArmorAll, air-freshener, leather/vinyl cleaner, or any number of products I've used to clean my car. I took it to the dealer and they declined, noting that that other customers have not reported the same problem. The clincher is that they want $1900 just for the part. Apparently you can't just replace the plastic display cover, but it's part of a larger piece of the dash that has to all be replaced.
View 8 RepliesI bought my ES in January of this year, and almost from the get go I've had an intermittent problem with a squeak in the dash... I really think this is a cool weather issue because last weekend it was in the mid 70;s here and not a single noise... this morning temps dropped into the upper 40's and there was that damn squeak again...
It's located right over the speedometer about 2 to 3 inches in from the edge ( just beyond my grandson's right hand in the pic below... Took it to the dealer a week or two back but because it wasn't making any noise, they told me there was no point in leaving it... but this morning they said bring it buy and we'll put you in a loaner....
I've heard of this being an issue on some IS models but not on any ES models... anyway according to what I've read the fix was to remove the screws on the bottom side of the dash 'hump" and then insert some felt in there... hope this works, because even though it's just a squeak and nothing mechanical.
I have just purchased a RX450h 2009 in the uk, I am really happy with it apart from the braking light on the right hand side of the dash comes on intermittently. I use the car in the mornings to drive 1.5m to the station. Why this maybe happening?

With the map on the screen and the Sat audio playing, switch from the map to the SAT screen to make selections.
Pressing "Media" on the dash always defaults to "BT Audio". Then I have to joystick it back to SAT.
Same would be true if I were in the map and wanted to return to the FM screen .
And of course I have tried MENU next to the joystick but that's a multi step process to get back to the desired audio screen.
Talked to Rho-plate, they state they have no plans on making one...alternatives? My car also has Park Assist too, does count me out on the Tow Hook method?
View 2 RepliesWe bought our beautiful ES350 back in May and we love most everything about the car. However I have noticed a fairly pronounced vibration at idle while in gear. I thought it may get better with mileage, but it has not. We are at 2500 miles now. I have seen posts with the previous gen ES about this, but not for the 2013. Just noticed a vibration especially from the steering wheel at idle in drive. I plan on mentioning it on our first service visit which is coming up in another 2500 miles.
View 14 RepliesThere is 68F outside and I wanted to heat up inside to 78F inside. But the climate control shows me the AC is ON as soon as I turn the fan ON. Why is that? Is the AC really turning on and stays on?
I noticed, because the air from the center vent wasn't particularly warm and the cabin didn't get warm as fast as I would expect. In other cars I would just turn the heat ON max and gradually turn it back, but it is not what I am observing here. I feel the hot air coming from the left vent only - the one next to driver door, but the center vents are barely warm. So I have 2 question here really.
1. Why is the AC indicator on climate control window showing the AC is ON when I am using the heater?
2. Is the AC turning ON always with that indicator turning ON?
How to remove over head console in 2013 Lexus ES350? I know that I should probably just pull it down from the front or back, but I want to be sure ..

1. Outside temp 92 Deg. I start the car and turn on the A/C. It is pumping hot air. I wait 5 min. It is still pumping hot air. I switch it off and start again. It pumps cold air.
2. Outside temp 94 Deg. I start the car and turn on the A/C. It is pumping hot air. I turn it off and on. No luck continued to pump hot air. Next morning out side temp 77 Deg. I start the A/C works fine.
I took it to the dealer. He says unless he can see the failure he cannot do any thing.
I'm a brand new owner of a 2013 GS350 that I've had for just a few days and so far I am in love. I noticed I have this blue light at the top center of the dash that keeps fading in and out day or night. Any setting somewhere that I can make this either go away completely or atleast stop the fading effect?? On a side note, I'll be coming up on a 30K mile maintenance within the next 6 months or so and my local Lexus dealer quoted me roughly $525 or so.
View 9 RepliesMy 2013 ES350 is 3 months old, treated like a baby, and today I noticed paint peeling on the left front rim in two places (white areas on photo below). I never hit a curb (or anything else), and there is no dent or scratch associated with this.
View 14 RepliesI'm getting a little rumble in my Lt Rear wheel bearing with just over 50k miles. I'm looking online at parts and the part number for the hub/bearing assy is 4246033030. It's showing up as a Toyota part as well.
Does the same part matches a Camry or Avalon? The Toyota version of the part is about half of the price.
Only have driven 2900 miles and engine frequently misses when it slows from 40 mph down to 35 mph. After a test drive dealer told me that car is handling normally. Can't be true. I consistently get a "lagging" feeling whenever I slow down from 40 plus mph to 35. My foot remains on the accelerator with just a slight decrease in foot pressure. I'm returning to dealer next week and I don't know what I will do if they tell me the vehicle is acting normal.
View 10 RepliesMy iPod usually plays just fine in my ES350, but once a week or so it freezes up. I have to reboot the iPod and then all is good for another week or so. I have two iPods; this happens to each of them. The iPods do not freeze up when tied into my home stereo system. Usually there is an iPhone in the car, using the blue-tooth connection; no hardwired connection for the iPhone in the center console. I am using an Apple connection cable, not a cheap knock-off cable.
View 9 RepliesI hear sometimes a tiny metallic clicking noise coming from the front of headliner in my 2013 Lexus ES350, on the driver's side. It only happens sometimes while driving over the small potholes. It can be from the sunroof mechanism, but I am not sure. What can cause it?
View 14 RepliesI just got a 2014 ES350 and love it, however, I have one issue I can't seem to figure out and I have to assume their is an easy fix. When I use my phone (bluetooth via car) and I'm using the navigation system, the voice still give me directions while I'm on the phone. 1) it's distracting for me to have a conversation the same time the navigation is talking 2) the person on the phone hears it as well. Is their a way to set up so that the voice automatically mutes while I'm on the phone?

I am looking to buy 2013 or 2014 ES 350. After looking at one of them, while checking the spare tire, I accidentally discovered water in the truck on the driver's side, all the way on the bottom. After that, when I look at the cars, I check this spot for water/liquid. Last weekend, I looked at three cars, and two out of three have water/liquid in the very same spot. The sales people give different explanations, and one sale person just said that he does not know why water is there. What causes it and how to repair it.
