I turned on the climate control this morning when I started the car and tried to change the temperature, then for some reason until the car was warmed up the climate control went to lo and seemed like it was locked there.
Once I the car got warmed up, the climate control worked was normal. It seemed like the increase/decrease controls were locked.
I have a '13 GS with the Luxury Package that has the rear seat climate & radio controls. I'm not sure if there is an issue or if the system is locked....Of the rear controls everything related to audio portion works correctly...Now if I try to turn on the heated seats, or change the temperature, or blower speed none of those work as they should.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2008 LS360L with 4-zone climate control. For whatever reason, the rear seat controls and display do not work for climate control. The controls still work for radio, rear seat adjustment and window shades, but climate functions are unoperable.
Additionally, the 4-zone buttons on the nav touchscreen are now missing in the climate menu. There used to be left / right passenger settings and then a button to switch to rear seat settings. These options have all disappeared from the menu.
I can press the 4-zone physical button on dash and manually change temperature settings for driver or passenger by pressing physical driver / passenger temperature up / down buttons.
The only thing I can attribute to this is I had the dealer do a map upgrade to the nav system. All other features / functions work, but the timing is somewhat suspect... They really do not believe this upgrade caused the problem.
Are there hidden menus I may have hit to deactivate this feature?
Sometimes the volume button on the stereo nor the buttons on the steering button do not increase or decrease the volume. I can turn the stereo on and off - still the same. If I turn the engine off and on - this issue goes away. It's only just started happening in the past few weeks.

View 11 RepliesMy GS350 is a spare car that sits for weeks at a time and recently the battery fully discharged. After charging the battery and getting it running, when I go to the climate control on the touchscreen, I don't get any climate controls. I get the error "Please check air conditioner connection". Any quick way for me to reset or rectify this or do I need to go to the dealer? This error is a result of a dead battery?
View 1 RepliesSince I got Prius I've noticed that driving at 50mph returns 80+mpg , 90+mpg if I let it gently glide at -1mph per 1 mile. As it gradually slows down, the mileage starts to decrease. By the time I get down to 45 mph the mileage shows around 70mpg,
I get down to 40mph, I'm only getting 50mpg. When I keep my speed between 40 and 45 I get about 52-55 mpg for the day. If I keep my speed between 45 and 50, I get 55-60mpg for the day.
The volume control on my stereo stopped working today. The radio turns on, but the volume controls do not increase/decrease the volume. It is stuck at whatever volume it was at before this problem started. When I turn the volume knob, I see the volume level numbers increasing and decreasing in the upper right corner of the touchscreen, but obviously the volume stays put.

My Santa Fe is doing a pop sound, like a clunk, when I increase or decrease the speed. It is just one time noise every time the speed changes. Like when the "gravity center" changes from the car front to rear or vice-versa.
I notice already that doesn't happen when it's shifting, neither when I go over a speed bump.
It happens in all gears, but is more noticeable up to the 4th gear.
Also, usually I can hear this noise, a little bit lower, when I'm stopped and change the gear from P to R or vice-versa.
My Santa Fe is a 2011 model with 70K kilometres ....
Symptoms : You will hear a squeaking noise from the passenger side of the car. It will increase and decrease with engine RPM, and apparently can be heard from inside the car as well. This noise is from the tensioner bearings failing...which, if gone untreated, will then cause the serpentine belt to fail.
If the belt fails, it seems that the battery light will come on, followed by engine coolant temperature spike (overheat).

Recently my speedometer has been acting wacko...and continues to do so. Two to five minutes into a trip it will slowly increase or decrease in mph's and randomly stop (or continue) as it pleases regardless of how fast or slow I am traveling. Several mechanics checked it and test drove it and no one could figure it out. The devices they used to check the speedometer indicated it was functioning properly.

How to change the heated seat operation method? I recall seeing somewhere to hold both heated seat button controls down until it beeps to make a change in the method of operation...and doing the same again will change it back. How to confirm that this (change) method to be accurate?
My audio volume does not decrease when the navigation talks. Rather, I have to keep the navigation voice level high and it simply talks over the music/audio. Is this supposed to happen or do I have something set wrong? I can't believe the audio doesn't lower automatically the same way it does for a phone call.

My climate controls no longer will respond. the Auto button is lit up but I can't turn the air off. I get hot air from the vents. When the clicking does stop the system goes back to working order. My friend checked it out and says the clicking is from the blend door motor.
View 6 Replies2004 Prius and I have lots of static in the AM radio. Some days it is worse than others mostly I am unable to listen to it. If the car is in accessory, the static in the AM radio is not there. As I drive the car the static will increase or decrease based on the proximity to the overhead wires. There are days however where the static will be hardly noticeable. I've owned the car since 2006 and have always had this issue.

The problem is that even if the air is cooler outside, the air conditioning is automatically turned on and the fuel economy drops. (I know that we can do this for the base model (to turn off air conditioning while using the defroster).
