My audio volume does not decrease when the navigation talks. Rather, I have to keep the navigation voice level high and it simply talks over the music/audio. Is this supposed to happen or do I have something set wrong? I can't believe the audio doesn't lower automatically the same way it does for a phone call.

We had an unfamiliar mechanic pushing buttons to reset our oil change notice recently, but other than that we are clueless. We have checked the usual "voice on" commands but seem to be lost on this one.

View 5 RepliesBig navigation screen it totally blank. Not able to turn on radio. When you start the car you see Lexus logo, then you get warning text after this text its completely black. Backups camera is working and small screen is working. I looked at Navigation fuse, TV fuse they all look good.

Today when I was driving on the highway, all the sudden the audio display screen (no navigation) was turned off by itself, but I still hear the sounds from the speakers. all the buttons were not working. after few minutes, the display system seems reboot itself, then it was frozen at start screen with only shows the Lexus logo on it. until I pulled over and restarted the car, it was back to normal.

What is the default operation - Auto Decrease or Stays the Same?
How to change the heated seat operation method? I recall seeing somewhere to hold both heated seat button controls down until it beeps to make a change in the method of operation...and doing the same again will change it back. How to confirm that this (change) method to be accurate?
So all I wanted to do once I got my new Prius was set up the bluetooth. What a nightmare! Got the phone to recognize the car. Tried to upload the phone bock from my blackberry and all I got was a display saying "talking" . I waited and waited and gave up after 15 mins as I only have 50 names in the book. Now the radio isn't on when because this stupid "Talking" is on all the time. When I verbally dialed a number I tried with the 1 at the start, then without, but the area code and then no area code, and still no dial....
I have had the car 5 hours and if I could pick it up and throw it I would.
I've been using Google Maps on my iPhone 6 through my Prius C1's bluetooth for years, and it's 99% reliable. But only if I'm currently playing music from my phone (using the built-in Music app). If I pause the music, all the turn-by-turn directions invariably come through sounding like a shitty quality phone call. The "Talking..." prompt on the car's dash display also appears, so I'm guessing the car thinks I'm making a phone call, even though I'm not.
This wouldn't be that bad, except that every time a direction prompt sounds, the music pauses for a few seconds, playing through the shitty quality phone mode. This sounds awful, and is the main reason I want to find a solution to this problem. But it's not the only issue.
Strangely enough, if I start a navigation in Google Maps before I get into my car, the bluetooth will treat all the audio coming from my phone, including music, as a shitty quality phone call. The only way to fix it is to shut down the engine and reboot the entire car.
I've done a little bit of experimentation with Apple Maps, and it seems not to suffer from this problem. But I've been using Google Maps for ages, I'm using to the UI, and I trust it a lot more than Apple Maps. I'd much prefer to continue using Google if at all possible.
I turned on the climate control this morning when I started the car and tried to change the temperature, then for some reason until the car was warmed up the climate control went to lo and seemed like it was locked there.
Once I the car got warmed up, the climate control worked was normal. It seemed like the increase/decrease controls were locked.
I have recently returned to the Lexus family after being away for a couple of years, can't say my time with BMW was enjoyable. I have a 2010 LS 460 and would like to know if it is possible to have a split screen with Navigation and Audio? My Navigation screen appears to be the default, after 30 seconds the audio screen returns to the map.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 ES 350 and I have paired my Samsung s4 smartphone to it. I hear phone calls through the car speakers but Any way to hear the voice that navigates you with Google maps through the car speakers as well. The car's own navigation is so poor I don't even use it.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2013 RX350 AWD, purchased new about 8 months old. Today for the first time, the navigation/audio system joy stick stopped working while I was driving. The display froze and then had just lines of pixels and very small font. Moving the joy stick had no effect. There was also no map displayed. The display was basically "messed up".
Once I got home, I turned of the car and then restarted. The display and joy stick was fine. I never saw this in all 8 months I've had the car. I am just about to schedule my 10,000 service.
My navigation out of no where has been restarting on its own meaning screen goes black and warning comes up again. I have had car since November and it only started happening last week and I have 6k on car. It will actually restart on its own twice and this has occurred 3 times so far.
Now not sure if I am dreaming this but if I shut the car off with NAV screen split with home screen I always remembered it staying that way even when I restarted car. Now however regardless of what I leave it when I restart car always shows full map. I am thinking did they push an update to NAV which is also causing the glitch in it restarting? I haven't brought it dealer since new so I know no one updated manually but I can swear home screen would stay split if I left it that way.
Having issue with NAV restart while driving, I see it was occurring in IS forum but no fix. Also it is very cold but car is garaged and every time I been driving already for a bit, another thing maybe it's my iPhone because it always plugged in when it has occurred.

View 6 RepliesI have recently decided to not renew any XM services on my 13 GS. One unintended consequence of that decision seems to be a surprise. My slow start of the navigation system is gone. The system starts up instantly every time. I have observed it for 4 days now, and not a single slow start. Not sure if the problem is in the XM receiver, or the way the navigation tries to consume the XM data services, but it's definitely related to XM.

I have a 13 ES ultra luxury package. My ? Is about he nav. Ever since I bought the car the navigation does not work correctly when I put in a destination. For instance if I drive 200 miles on the interstate and make one stop I'll go 70 miles an hour it should take me three hours the navigation is saying five hours, there is no traffic on the interstate. it does this on any destination I choose.

I checked the 4 disc cd changer and they are empty. I usually use the blue tooth system to play the music.
2011 Prius III with JBL navigation system 9,000 miles on the odometer.
I have a 2010 Prius five and I blew the warranty in the first year and a half. At 134k miles the navigation is getting a bit crazy. So while I'm driving (not using the nav) a side bar screen will pop up with a few boxes that say calculating and it will freeze my whole system for about 2 or 3 minutes even though I can still see my location tracking behind the pop up screen. If I'm streaming music that will continue but I can't change songs or volume or anything. It also lags when I get an incoming call so I can hit the transfer button but it will take about 30 seconds.
I tried to see if my car needed an update from the 08.1 version but can't seem to find any info on it. No actual answer.
