View 5 RepliesI wear seatbelts and make sure passengers wear them too while driving. However, many times I keep heavy boxes on the passenger side seat...
And I am sure you all know how irritating that warning sound is (for 24 secs)
How do i disable it in 2007 Toyota Camry LE ?
How to disable the seat belt warning sound and or the passenger side airbag warning sound?
View 7 RepliesI just got the new Avalon. Pretty nice but rear visability isn't great and front head room has been reduced to make it look sporty. My problem is with the obnoxious seat belt warning chime which seems to go on forever. How to disable it? I use my belt all the time. Don't need a reminder.
View 14 RepliesI just sold my 2006 GS430 to pick up a 2007 LS460. So far I have no complaints.
First off: I am NOT condoning driving without a seatbelt. Merely asking a question.
In my gs430 I can go through a series of commands to disable the seat belt buzzer from beeping while i drive without a seat belt. I've browsed the forums and haven't seemed to find the same thing for the LS460.
Is it even possible it to disable it without having the dealer reprogram?
How to disable the seat belt alarm on a 2008 Lexus RX 350? I tried the "reset odometer" method and that doesn't work. I also took the car to a Toyota dealer and a former Lexus technician could not disable it via computer. This alarm is annoying!
View 14 RepliesThis morning I asked the Hyandai dealer in Hilton Head, SC to repair the passenger seat belt warning bell in my 2014 Sante Fe. They said there was nothing wrong with the warning bell and that there was no error code in the system. They also claimed that the passenger front seat was not designed to have its own warning bell. Strange since it had always worked that way before. After a fairly long discussion it seems they did not want to fix this safety issue because it apparently involves replacing the seat.
View 3 Repliesadjust the electrically adjustable seat to her position. Since that is quite further forward than my programmed position the seatbelt was quickly choking her. So before I knew (I was sitting next to her) she unbuckled, with a bang. The bang was because there was quite a lot of pressure on the seatbelt.
No harm, nothing broken, at least ... until I heard the ping ping ping sound even though both of our seatbelts were in their sockets or whatever you call them. Inserting again, no change. Still the 'seatbelt light' on + the annoying sound.
Should I try to open the seatbelt socket/block/the thing where you insert your seatbelt in and see if there is some broken wire inside ?
2015 AWD. How do you fully turn off the traction control?
Seems like i can press the button and it comes back in a minute. I tried holding it down.
Also, the seat belt chime. I take off my belt once I get in a parking lot, and the chime is annoying as hell.
Instructions on how to disable your seatbelt chime.
1. Buckle Seatbelt (1.1) go to ACC mode.
2. While depressing the brake, turn the key to the ON position. I Was thinking someone might experiment with in the ACC mode might work by pressing the start button w/o your foot on the brake pedal.
3. Press the trip reset button a few times, stop when the ODO is displayed (not trip distance - A or B). If the odometer starts at the mileage, cycle through anyway.
4. Turn the ignition to LOCK.
5. Unbuckle the driver's seat belt.
6. Turn the key to the ON position again. When the dash lights comes on, press and hold the trip reset button, and count to 20 (slowly).
7. While still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
8. The odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". Depress the trip reset button to toggle.
9. Unbuckle and Turn OFF the car.
Well, no wiring mod is required. Here is the procedure:
1. Set the LCD on the combination meter to the ODO trip.
2. Press and hold the TRIP meter reset knob for ten seconds or more within six seconds of turning the ignition switch to the ON position. Fastening the driver's seat belt while holding the knob cancels the buzzer reminder. (You may have to hit the reset meter knob to cycle through b-ON to b-OFF)
3. When this occurs, the LCD displays "b-OFF". The buzzer reminder can be switched between ON and OFF each time the TRIP meter knob is pressed. The LCD displays "b-ON" or "b-OFF" according to the buzzer reminder ON/OFF status. The display changes to the ODO or trip meter if the knob is not pressed in 10 seconds.
4) Performing steps 1) and 2) again when the buzzer reminder is off exits cancel mode.
I was able to disable the seat buzzer and took a drive. IT WORKs! I am so relieved.
I just bought my 06 Hyundai accent last night. Just today I noticed my seat belt will chime after I remove the belt, even if the car is in park. It's not a big deal but it was enough to make me look through the owners manual to see if it could be disabled. Well, I didn't find my answer so I thought maybe someone here has already done it. So, how to disable the seat belt chime?
View 7 RepliesI'm new to the board always been into old school air cooled vws but just bought a 20th anniversary GLI Jetta and need to know how to deactivate the seat belt ding ding. The car did not come with an owners manual so can't look it up.

Having a very annoying rattle/creaking near the seat belt pillar on the driver's side? This occurs continously even on smooth highway roads. I will ask them to check it out at the 5k service.
Also, my steering wheel slightly "clicks" when turning the steering wheel 1 full turn to the right. It doesn't do it on the left side, and doesn't seem right. No turn signals or anything is on. Just seems flimsy with all these noises!
Is there a way to disable the seat belt beeper in a 10 Jetta SW? I am typically driving a few blocks or less and this drives me nuts. I assume you can disable through the vag-com or does a dealer need to do this?
View 9 RepliesI just purchased a 2004 Excursion and I want to disable the seat belt alarm. The truck didn't come with an owners manual so I got the manual from my 2005 and followed the instructions but it wouldn't disable the alarm. It worked fine on the 2005. Need instructions for a 2004?
View 9 RepliesCan disable seat belt ringer? Today I got in my truck put it in reverse and sat for a moment and the damn ringer came on for the belt then drove down the drive way and it came on again. There was no need for the belt seeing that I was just moving trailers around the yard. I had a few Rangers and a Bronco that I was just able to reach down and pull the ringer out but I also had a Ranger that had the speaker build on to a circuit board I ended up putting bondo in that one made it real quite.
View 6 RepliesAny way to disable the annoying seat belt alarm. I do wear my seat belt but I can't even get out of my driveway before it goes off, also if I drive one block to the store and don't feel like putting it on. I have tried the disabling procedure in the owners manual many times and it does not work. I have also tried other procedures posted on the internet and they didn't work either. If the alarm wasn't for other things like keys left in ignition, etc I would have cut the wires by now.
View 14 RepliesI drive a GS450h. Now I am experiencing some rattles that irritates. It is a "tock" sound that comes from around the driver seat. It is impossible for me to isolate, but it sounds like its from either of these locations:
- Driversdoor
- Roof
- A pillar driver side
- Dashboard
It doesn't matter where if the road is bumpy or not, actually it seems to be more present on smooth roads. I removed the covers of the door and looked for anything that moved in there, but it all seemed ok. How can I check for the rest? Is there a DIY for removing the roof and A-style panels/cover?
I bought my second Prius yesterday and have noticed that the driver's side seat belt sensor is finicky. Please note, I don't want to turn the warning chime off. I know how to do that, and it isn't the solution I'm looking for. I wear my seatbelt always, but in case I do forget to buckle myself (or my passenger forgets to buckle up), I want to receive an accurate warning.
So, here's what's happening. Even when the seat belt is buckled, the warning chime will sound until the buckle is clicked in *just* right. Sometimes it works on the first buckle, sometimes it takes five or six tries to get it right. I've tried the basics (compressed air, checking connections), but neither provided any solutions. What's my next step? Can I buy a new buckle assembly (or just pull one off a junker)?
I have an annoying problem with my 2008 Passat: the seat belt warning sound beeps occasionally while I'm driving despite the fact that the belt is fastened normally. Usually the beeping ends if I adjust the position of the seat belt buckle or shift my position a little, but this is still an annoying problem. It affects only the drivers seat, passenger side functions normally.
- is there a sensor somewhere in the buckle assembly and can I try to do something to fix it?
- if it need as new sensor should I take the car to a garage or source and install the sensor by myself?
