Lexus ES 2013+ :: 350 / Where To Place Wireless Qi Charger
Mar 1, 2015
I've been wanting to get a wireless Qi charger for my Samsung Galaxy S5 and have thought of a few options:
1. Have somebody custom wire a Micro USB into my glove box.
2. Put it into my center console (no custom install needed).
What about the phone moving around when the car is in motion? Other pros and cons?

Sometimes when the wife and I go out to dinner she wants to leave her purse in the back with the cover pulled. She keeps her set of keys in her purse so with the wireless keys I can't lock the car because the car knows there is a key inside.

While I was pulling out my charger from the port of my brand new 2013 Prius Two, the whole plastic housing the auxiliary/charger ripped off. Nothing was damaged, nor was any plastic bits pulled off. It just came apart. I tried for so long trying to put it back in, but to no avail. Here's the picture on Imgur: [URL] ....

I bought a BatteryMinder Model 2012 charger. This is a low-amperage temperature-compensating multi-stage charger/maintainer/desulfator that is supposed to avoid the wear and tear that lesser chargers inflict on batteries in long-term storage.
The charger comes with a 2-foot cable section with a terminal connection on one end and a capped plug on the other. I like the idea of an easy disconnect so I don't have to get under the hood each time I want to take the car out for a jaunt. My first thought was to run the cable and plug to the grill area of the car, except there's no easy way to do this without the plug showing. Also, the permanently-attached cable is only 2-feet long.
So I'm wondering about the windshield wiper tray, passing from the battery over the hood's rubber seal:
I attached a photo, showing where the charger cable might run. I can't see any conflict with the wiper or other functions. Am I missing anything?
The charger itself would be screwed to the garage wall.
Also, how about using a charger/maintainer with a cover over the car? This charger should not be pushing the battery and causing any water loss. So, I'm thinking that destructive gases should not be a problem. Again, am I missing something?

I wish my 09 had Bluetooth for music. I know there was a TSB for it but I was wondering if I can do an easy fix myself to remedy the whining noise you get through the speakers when you use both the aux cord and a charger at the same time while driving.

I have a 2008 GX and when the car is in drive and being stopped/held in place with the brakes, it makes a squealing noise, sounds like a loose belt but I don't think it is as it is coming from the transmission area, BEHIND the engine.

Just installed the Vaistech iVic unit yesterday and everything seemed to function fine, but noticed once I started driving today that my Navigation unit was off. It still operated and tracked movement OK, only the maps were about 10 minutes away from where I was actually located.
I've turned off the car several times since, and also took out the Navigation disc and re-installed but it keeps putting me in the same wrong place, This all happens in the normal standard Lexus modes.

When I put my hand on the driver's door handle to open the door, a series of 10 beeps with the flashing exterior lights occurs. Door won't open. Must use metal key in fob. On exit, touch handle on outside (above/below pinch) results in nothing, or a stuttered double clicking sound. Door not locked and metal key from fob used to lock door. SKS works sometimes, but I never know if or when I'm going to need the metal key. Battery fresh. When wireless button to unlock/lock is used, it sometimes works, sometimes does not.Door no longer automatically locks after period of time. I can forget to lock and come back hours later and still unlocked.
I've tried the spare fob. Same result. I've left cell phone in house. Same problems. I've tried turning away from the door so the fob is not as close. Same problems. Cleaned door handle. No change.

Just picked up a Ctek 3300 battery charger for my 2008 LS460L since we only drive it a few days a week. Is it safe to connect directly to the battery under the hood?
Where is the ideal spot to jump start on an LS? Reason I ask is that my BMW 6series have the battery at the back trunk but for any charging or jump starts it must be done under the hood where there is a terminal that goes to the battery.

It happened almost a week ago and had plenty of time to dry out. I heard that the keys will usually come back to life but unfortunately mine did not. Tried changing the battery too. No luck. The key still works in the door. It's an annoyance not being able to open the trunk or lock/open all doors remotely.
Are there any alternative ways to do this cheaper that I'm overlooking? There are wireless keys on ebay that can be bought. But is there a way to get them programmed other than going to the VW dealer and getting fleeced?

Several times my 6 month old Prius v Three refuses to start. I've taken it to the dealer 5 times now for an array of electrical issues. I was told the keyfob wireless signal isn't reaching the Power pushbutton on the dashboard & to not ever put the keyfob near my cell phone & to put the keyfob as close to the Power pushbutton as possible.

My Airlift wireless will not inflate my airbags-compressor does not run. It was working - only used it once since it was installed 2 months ago. Tried it this week- no joy. I get the error BL OC,(bloc) then sometimes FA IL. I called Airlift Friday and the tech said it sound like compressor might be bad so I should get 12 volts to the compressor and see if it runs. I did that and compressor runs fine. I also checked to be sure I have 12 volts going into the wire loom and I do.
When I try to inflate the using wireless controller, the manifold clicks but there is no voltage going to the compressor. Sounds like there is a breakdown within or between the receiver and/or manifold. I do see the wireless controller sending a signal but nothing happens except on click in the manifold. I guess I will have to wait until Monday to call again. It frustrating since it's Saturday when I am able to work on it but can't get tech support.

I have a 2006 Charger R/T. My car used to not start (even thought the battery, starter, and alternator was good). I had it fixed, and the problem seemed to be electrical. However after that, it would always start, but would go into "limp mode". I let it sit for two days, and the limp mode disappeared. However, it will only start on occasion. It won't start after about 30 mins after use. It won't start for a few hours. All electrics work fine, it just won't even attempt to crank. Try to start it later, it will work fine. Even though the check engine light was NOT on, I was able to pull three codes out of it: U0100, U0103, P0700. I did have to replace the notorious "pink thingy", but everything (should be) connected fine.

Have a problem with their front 12V charger not working? Could this be a fuse issue? I couldn't find the specific fuse location in the manual for the front charger.

The van's battery died all the way.
I went to jump it off and as soon as I connected the charger it's loud and annoying alarm started going off.
I tried pressing the Disarm button and the Arm button, nothing happened.
What do I do?

By hooking it directly to the battery, putting the solar panel in the sun to keep it fully charged? It's 1.5 watts. 12 volts. It has a built in over charge protection.

I found a decent deal on a 2nd gen prius. But I am going to need to repair the battery. I have already known that I can test and only repair the needed cells (since I looked into the situation when I was buying mine a year ago). Looking at the forums and saw there were a couple of chargers being recommended by the users; such as the supermate DC6 or the Hitec 44151 Quad X4.
I will likely want to charge 8 cells at time at least, as I would ideally like to get the car fixed in a couple of weeks.
