How is the wind noise in your cars? Noticed once I hit about 35 mph that there is a good amount of wind noise coming through the passenger side.
View 14 RepliesToday I visited my Dealer to check out the wind noise that we are hearing - driver and passenger. They did agree after a road test that there is a wind noise. They also took out another GS 350 and noticed the same. They called CA to check if others reported this problem and the answer was no. The Service Consultant indicated this will be entered to review in more detail. While waiting, I looked at cars in the showroom. The triangle filler at the front of the windows on the GS 460 and ES models had a horizontal ridge molded in this filler piece. Not sure for the reason - wind noise reduction?
Also, wanted the oil changed at 3K miles and the Consultant indicated it was not necessary. Stated that oil change is not needed until 10K miles due to now using synthetic oil. I do not agree with this. Will have oil changed in the next week to remove any fines that may be in the oil of the new engine.
Requested changes to the number of lane change turn signal blinks and lowering windows when depressing FOB unlock. The latter was no problem due to using a laptop interface. However, the signal change is using a combination of turn signal and wiper levers. I have a copy of the instructions and never have seen anything so complex. I don't understand why these changes cannot be make by the owner similar to some of the other features.
My 2015 Gs 350 F sport started making grinding noise from the front passanger side wheel. The noise comes from driving and not braking so im assuming its not the brake pads and its not squeaking noises as a worn out brake will sound.
View 14 RepliesI have a strange "wind noise" at 70+ mph -- only coming from the passenger side -- definitely the mirror area. I think the door seals are OK and the problem is the painted mirror cover making a sound (resonating/vibrating) when the wind hits it at high speed (I was tapping on it with my fingers and I could see where this might happen). So I went and got some Dynamat type stuff to put on the inside. But I cannot figure out how to get the cover off.
I saw a couple posts on people installing the turn signal indicators, with pictures of the mirrors half torn apart, but none of the posts mentioned how they got the painted cover off. I tried to pry it off by jamming my fingernails in a crack and getting a hold, but that's not working.
From day 1, my car's been making this wind noise from driver's side window. It sounds like window is very slightly open and wind is sipping through at high speed, 60mph+.
I've read posts about our side mirror shape that might be at fault. I've also seen people mentioning how GS does not have "window fin" thing by side mirror when ES and LS have it.
So today while driving on highway when there was significant wind sipping noise, I folded my side mirror to see if that made any difference. Nope, no difference, not louder, not quieter. So I started to feel my hand along the window from inside, pushing different parts to if that made a difference. And there was one place that made the wind noise go away.
I found out that rubber/plastic guide on the door, top portion, right by the b-pillar, somewhat triangular shape part was loose. On passenger side, it was fitted tight but on driver's side, it was a bit loose. I fixed it tight and test drove, pretty windy weather, no wind noise now!!!
I made my first round trip from Vegas to LA over the weekend in our 06 GX470and had to endure this obnoxious wind noise that seems to be coming from both driver and passenger windows. Is this normal for a Lexus SUV? I normally drive my LS460L which is dead silent so I'm not sure if I'm just spoiled. I used to have a big SUV (Armada) but never noticed the wind noise because of the engine and road noise.
View 2 RepliesSo I've been having some extra wind-noise from my driver side window when I am driving 50+ m[h. So at my oil change this past week, I noted this with my advisor and she said they would look into it.
Long story short I get my car back Wednesday and everything is taken care of, Windnoise is gone, aluminum side plates fixed and they even filled my tank. from 1/4 to full.
Flash forward to today, Friday. I noticed that my driver and passenger front windows had some stickers on them, noting that they were made in japan and only the car owner can remove them, I also notice there is a haze. I drove about 100miles in the last 2 days, mostly right at the crack of dawn and just before dusk. But today Friday it was ultra bright and I realized there was no tint on my front windows.
Lexus had actually replaced both the driver and passenger windows due to the excess windnoise, which to me is crazy, cause it really wasn't that bad. I called my service advisor about this issue, before I had releaized they replaced the windows and she said they should of re-tinted them and that they forgot too, so bring my car back in next week.
Long story short, Lexus is pretty awesome and I cant believe they replaced the windows for some wind noise. I honestly wouldn't of had them do that and spend all that money for something so insignificant, but kudos to them.
I picked up my GS350 this past saturday.
I took a 64 mile round trip drive yesterday with the audio between 16-22 volume and there's definite rattling coming from the right passenger side door.
This was through the Satellite Radio Feed. It wasn't all the songs but any songs with the extended drawn out bass you can here it rattle.
I'm about 115 miles in and will most likely take it in this week. There's nothing in the side door compartment...
Having problems with a squeaking or ticking noise coming from the front windshield area on the passenger side? I took off the A-pillar and tweeter speaker cover, and the noise was still there. Pressing on the A-pillar did not work and it's not any of the cords or plastics in there rubbing. It almost sounds like it's behind the A-pillar. Pressing on the dash, windshield, headliner, etc. all have no effect on the noise.
I'm trying really hard to fix this myself because I'm worried about a tech tearing apart the dash trying to fix it. It might end up worse than it is now. I'm thinking this TSB will need to be done (which seems to apply to all Toyotas): [URL] ....
Next on my list to check is the passenger side mirror (make sure it's fastened securely) and also the black liner under the windshield wipers. I also have foam (like the kind you use when installing a window AC) which I may also try stuffing into the bottom of the front windshield (and maybe the top) to see if that works.
If all else fails, the car is going to the dealer I guess. The Camry is such a quiet car that the noise is really irritating in an otherwise quiet interior. Other than this noise, the car is great! Just a little bummed because my 2005 has zero rattles or noises and my gf's old 2009 also had no rattles or noises. The 2015 refresh is nice, though we're still on the fence about the front grille. My relative is waiting for the 2016's to be released later this year and then he will be buying one for his patrol car. The 2015 isn't a full redesign but it looks different enough that he wants to wait for the next MY to come out. He's dreading leaving behind his 5MT Civic but it needs to be replaced. He hasn't had an auto, ever, come to think of it..

I just got new es300h 2015, first day i already noticed noise from hood when driver side door opened, after door closed then opened, noise is gone.
Noise usually happened when car cooled down. I brought this issue to dealer they response its normal in hybrid car. I really doubt explanation.
I drive a 2013 4 door gti. Car has 4k miles. Just last weekend myself and my buddies threw my coils in. FK Silverline X plus'. I am not sure on the measurement from fender to ground but I am a finger gap in the front, and fingertips in the rear. After throwing my coils in on saturday, I had an alignment and the rear camber adjusted. Just today, sunday, while driving home I heard a weird clunking/knocking noise. Previously I drove a mk4 and I know the sound of sway bar on axle and this is not the sound. Its coming from the passenger side front.. and I can sort of feel it through my clutch and brake. After pulling the car over I checked everything I could. wheels are all tight, struts seem fine. The noise occurs continuously even on smooth roads. The knocking/popping is pretty loud and can be heard in cabin. My buddy had mentioned the guys the aligned my car might have forgot to tighten something so I am heading back to the shop first thing in the morning.

Last night, my brother-in- law, a qualified mechanic, who is the fixed operations manager at a Hyundai dealership said it is ''piston slap'' and that they had already changed two engines this year for this.
I had the mechanic listen to the noise 2 weeks ago when in for my first oil change but Blondie said it was the fuel injection system...

Instead of auto-rolling up to a close, it rolled all the way up and then all the way down where is stopped.
View 4 Replies04 Camry. There is a lot of wind noise coming from the upper left side of the driver door, same with the passenger but not SO much. I've seen that cleaning the rubber with silicone lube and doing a window frame bend should do the trick, but my dad noticed that when the door on the driver side is close, there is a slight big gap between where the door is and the frame of the car. Upon comparing it to another 05 camry, the gap is smaller. Would that be the reason why i have been getting a lot of wind noise? Or should i try the window bend and silicone lube first?
View 2 RepliesFor the past year I would occasionally hear a wind noise from the backseat on the passenger's side. It seemed to coincide with acceleration so I figured that a seal had come loose. I took it by the dealership but they couldn't figure out what was wrong. A few days later, I heard the same noise but for the first time ever, it actually got louder when I was stopping so I figured out that it wasn't a seal.
I was lucky enough for the issue to keep going even when I parked so I found out that it was air being forced out from the A/C system(from vent near the seat cushion). What would cause this? I almost might think something wasn't grounded properly. I had another weird issue like this(not air but intermittent) on my old Jeep and it ended up being a grounding issue.
I think that one of them is coming from the passenger door. It is more of a clicking sound kind of, than a rattle. Maybe as if the door panel isn't tightly attached so it moves back and forth a little and clicks.
The other rattle is from the cupholder area.
I took this car to my dealer and they fixed another rattle from the passenger door (claimed it was a screw in the speaker that had fallen out?), but it was replaced by this new clicking rattle. They also claimed they did something to the cupholder to fix it, but it didn't work.
My question is, how the door panels are attached to the car? I was thinking that if it is attached by a few screws I will try tightening those up myself before I go back to the dealer. It would be great if it was just attached too loosely and I could fix it myself.
'15 GS350 F-Sport. Had it for a month. There's a noticeable clicking noise coming from the front brakes as I apply the brake.
View 8 RepliesI've owned a 2012 Prius Two for less than a month now, and today while driving home I noticed what sounds like road/wind noise coming from the rear passenger side area. Googling about this revealed information about the battery fan. However, I'm unsure if what I'm hearing is the battery fan or road/wind noise that I just haven't heard before.
Here's information regarding the conditions I was driving in:
- 84 degrees outside temperature
- car had been sitting in an open-air parking lot for about 2 hours
- no tint, no windows cracked for hot air release
- upon returning to the car I turned on the AC to 68, set at mid range speed
- was driving on the interstate doing some stop-and-go, but mostly 50-plus MPH
- windows rolled up completely, no doors ajar
- it sounded like air rushing by
- could not hear anything coming from the left rear side, but my left ear is partially blocked by the headrest, so...
- sound would decrease in volume if car slowed down
- sound would increase in volume as car got faster, but would eventually level out it seemed
- sound would completely go away at speeds below 20ish mph
- sound would not change based on level of AC, whether on, low, high or off
- checked battery vent for obstructions/debris, saw nothing, and was cool to the touch
- car has about 28k miles on it, replaced rear tires yesterday but all bolts, caps, etc. are securely in place
Faint humming/whistling noise coming from the drivings side of the motor. I can hear it when I put my head next to the drivers wheel well, and most certainly from that side of the motor when the hood is popped. It's not super loud, but it is noticeable. I know we have Direct injection motors, so I know that ticking is completely normal. Am I overlooking this and being paranoid? Car has 2100 miles on it. I don't know if it was there when brand new.
