Just driving today and when putting my window down i heard an odd clicking noise. Couple minutes later the window wouldn't go up at all when button pressed. Then it suddenly started to work again but clicking noise remained.
View 3 RepliesThe other night I'm driving and i hear this clicking noise as the car is rolling, like what it sounds like if something is it your tire, i can tell its coming from the front right so i get out and check it and its nothing there, next thing i thought was its something on the rotor.....so i take the car the next morning to lexus shop that i go to(not the dealer) he hears the noise takes of the front wheel and sees the issue. There's like a bent pin in the middle of the calipers that he said got moved or bent or something and the rotor was rubbing on that, so he gets a pliers and kinda bends/pulls it back to where its supposed to be.
He says the hardware on the brake system eventually deteriorates and when i do my next brake job i should replace those things too(just did my brakes though). so i drove off and everything was fine. Today I'm pulling out and when i tap on my brakes i hear a squeak I've never heard before, it seems like the clicking noise came back slightly and when I went on the highway the brakes just feel different and now there's a shudder in my steering wheel, i do have a warranty on the car and was wondering if it wouldn't be covered since its associated with the brakes.
I started having an issue with my lexus ls460 2007, the radio works good, but sometimes the sound doesn't come out, in other words even on max volume I can hear almost anything, a clicking sound comes out with this problem, the thing is (hands free) works perfect, navi guidance works amazing, except all radio sounds including AUX gives out lil sound which I can't hear.
View 6 RepliesThe other day I had my windows open while backing up and noticed that the brakes make a clicking noise when I initially apply them while in reverse.
This happens every time I'm in reverse and I apply the brakes.
The clicking is only when I first step on the brake, but it happens every time I first step on the brake in reverse.
Maybe this is unique to the LS600hL (2008)? Are brakes on my LS different from brakes on LS460 / LS460L?
About 2 months ago i was driving and heard a clicking noise that would increase the faster i drove, i 1st thought it was something in the tire. after checking my right front tire and saw nothing was there for some reason i figured it was the brake.....so my personal mechanic the next day took off the wheel i told me i had to replace the braking kit because one of the pins was rubbing on the rotor, in the mean time he pulled it to try to realign it into place.....after he did that i realized the steering wheel shuddering when braking at highway speeds....figuring since i needed the braking kit that when replaced, this new problem would b solved.....braking kit replaced problem still there....
View 11 RepliesI have had this intermittent clicking noise from the front left wheels. It sounds almost like a rock wedged in the tread but its not. I checked and the tire is clean. I inspected as much as I can see but see nothing abnormal. Any clue what the deal is?
I stared having the noise right after having the front left tire replaced and it seems to happen when the brakes are hot. I don't hear it in the morning or if I let the car cool down and drive it an hour or two later. My brakes are original rotors at 74K miles and the pads are probably in the 45K range . Not sure what the deal is but it drives me crazy when I can hear with the windows down ( I live in AZ its still in the 70s). I had an issue like this with my GS350 but cant remember what fixed it or what the issue was .
I had my window down as I was backing the car into the garage today and heard a metallic clicking noise from the rear as I tapped on the brakes. The noise only happens when I am in reverse. When I put it in drive and move forward there is no clicking noise. As an AZ resident its rare for us to have the windows down so to be honest I cant really say how long this has been going on for. My car was just in for service for oil , tire balance, and alignment this saturday
View 7 RepliesI recently purchased a beautiful 07 LS460 with 24K miles about 3 weeks ago.
About 2 weeks ago, I noticed a loud clicking / hammer noise from the dashboard lasting about 15- 20 seconds and after reviewing numerous threads here, I realized it could be my blender door / damper due to the infamous cabin air filter change. .
It must be noted that the Dealer did not change the cabin air filter and when I looked inside my glove box, I could easily open / close the blender door using the recirc ac button. Additionally, my cooling and fan is working fine as well, so I am not too sure that this is a blender door issue.
My question is that the noise continues to happen for about 20 seconds when the car is started and shut off. Since my blender door / damper opens and closes smoothly, is the servo motor going bad or servo sub assembly?
If it is my servo motor, could it be possible that it was damaged when the cabin filter was replaced? With the car only bearing 24K miles, I cant believe my servo motor has already gone bad!
I have some FAINT clicking noise at the rear of the 08 LS460 and I'm thinking it's rear bearing going out..but not sure...what exactly does bearing failure sounds like? I hear this SOFT clicking noise from (more likely) the right rear. The noise is very faint and I have to roll down the window to actually hear it.
If I move through the neighborhood at about 15-20 mph, I hear this clicking faint clicking sounds..and if I speed up a little, the clicking noise increases (in frequency, not loudness). When I go faster like on freeway or normal road, I can't hear it anymore. Probably clicking too fast or not as loud at that speed. With windows up, I can't hear it at all.
Is this has to do with rear bearing going out on me or possibly something else? Any recommendation where I can start looking at? Is it brake pads? The car is 35K miles but since it's 08, unfortunately it's out of basic warranty (time). Is this covered under powertrain?
I have a 2010 LS460 AWD with 42k miles and notice when I am making a medium to wide angle turn at parking lot speeds the front wheels make an intermittent metallic clicking/ticking noise that can be clearly heard when the windows are down and stereo is off. The noise can be heard when turning in either direction, driving forward or in reverse, and both accelerating and slowing down. Doesn't seem to happen when I'm turning the steering wheel while the car is stationary. Dealer suspects noise is due to dry contact areas between pads, calipers, and anti rattle springs and wants to perform a brake service for $330 before they're willing to investigate further (car still under warranty till end of the year). If noise is brake-related shouldn't it only occur when I'm applying the brakes? What should I do?
View 7 RepliesI took my car to the dealer last week to repair a clicking noise coming from the juncture of the right front windshield and dash. They said they added felt to the speaker grill and fixed it. NOT SO, still makes the noise, it is better though seems to get better when the weather is warmer. How to get the speaker grill off without damaging it. If so I will try to address the thing myself.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2008 LS460. I have a clicking noise coming from the brake pedal area. It happens in the morning when the brakes are cold. I had the same problem when the car was new, and Lexus put in a new actuator. It was ok for about 6 months, and started clicking again. Maybe 3 or 4 soft clicks when I push lightly on the brake pedal. Every time I take it in to Lexus, they say it has the new actuator, and the noise is so soft that they act like they can't hear it. The car is so quiet otherwise, that to me the clicking is very annoying. I have called Lexus corporate, to no avail. Sounds to me that they have a problem they don't want to admit.

View 4 RepliesI have an 02 Passat with a passenger side window motor problem. The window works fine from the drivers side and will go up using the pass. side switch, but it will not go down. It makes a clicking noise each time I press the switch and the window sort of acts like it wants to move down. I took the door panel off and checked the switch and the wires going to the motor and every thing looked ok. I checked the switch with a multimeter and it appears to be ok. What else I can check?
View 6 RepliesIts a fairly quiet clicking noise. Not constant and starts randomly. I can really hear it when i am in the fast lane next to a barrier or crub? I recently started autoxing. So maybe i beat up something - what it would be though. I checked all my fender liners and splash guard. Everything looks good, but this noise is driving me nuts.
View 4 RepliesI had an interesting ride home tonight. I accidentally lowered my front passenger window a little bit and when I tried to raise it I just got a clicking noise. So I drove along hitting the button, hoping the window would close, but it wouldn't. Then, the dash lights and head lights started pulsating/flickering. The engine power wasn't affected and the battery gauge wasn't moving. My vehicle is a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer with 173,0000 miles on it. Replaced the battery a few years back and have had no other electrical problems.
View 19 RepliesI have an 03 ranger and my driver side window will not roll down... My pass side rolls down just fine...when I push the down button all I get is a clicking noise out of what seems to be a little black box underneath the driver side dash and I can actually physically feel the clicking along with hearing it... When I push up on the button I get no noise or anything... this might be the motor...the regulator...or the actual switch?
View 1 RepliesWell it was a good run but after 6 years and 43,000 miles the window tab broke on the passenger window and now the window is off track on my 2007 ES 350. From everything I have read it's going to be a fairly expensive repair as the window will need to be replaced also.
I know there is a TSIB on this but, the car needs to be 48 months or 50,000 miles for it to be covered. I didn't know if I reached out to Lexus for some relief on this if they would at least cover some of the cost.
On my 2007 Lexus ES350, the front passenger window does not stay up.
Using either the driver's switch or the passenger door switch, the window rolls up to the top, then comes back down (the other three windows work fine).
With deft manipulation of the switch, I can get it almost closed.
The only recent 'event' on the car is that I changed the eight year-old OEM battery two weeks ago; the window began acting up two days ago.
Is this programming that was lost when the battery was removed, or am I looking a regulator/pinch motor issue?
That's the window regulator, right? It works fine but sounds like a computer printer from 1987 when it goes up and down. I've owned 3 5th gen ES cars and every single one had the problem. I stopped by the dealer today to use my aftermarket warranty to replace but they said they wanted a $150 diagnostic fee.
View 1 RepliesFrom everything I have found, several have gone through the issue of hearing a clicking noise when driving or braking and has been diagnosed as a faulty brake actuator. I do not hear any clicking while driving or braking. However, when I turn off the car and get out, I hear a clicking noise coming from the front end of the car. I understand that as a car cools you can hear noises coming from the engine area, but this is a very distinct click that always holds the same tone (if that makes any sense). Am I just over-thinking the basic cool down process?
