Having a problem with the windshield getting fogged up at three or four areas at the bottom, when the air is on?

View 2 RepliesI got off work at 4:30 pm the other day, and came out to my new (for me) 2009 car, and the front windshield was foggy. No other windows were foggy in my car, and no windows were foggy on any one of the 50 cars in the parking lot, b/c I checked every one as a slowly cruised around the parking lot before I left for home.
I'm 55 yrs old, and have never had a car do this on a sunny, warm day, in late afternoon, with relatively low humidity in the outside air. The windows were rolled up, yet that should not have been the main source of the problem. The windshield was not a little foggy, it was completely fogged up.
It had also been foggy that morning, but so were the other windows, b/c it was a cool, clear morning, and at 7:00 am on a morning like that, it is expected to have some window fog...but not at 4:30 pm after it's been sunny all day, and become warm!
What could cause this?...a windshield that is not sealed properly, or what? I did use the defroster that morning, and it worked fine, btw.
I have a 2010 Sonata GLS 4 cyl and I have a problem with foggy windshield (on the inside). I have noticed it now and temperatures outside are about 85F with 70% humidity. I don't use AC, I just use defogger and my windshield gets foggy.
I also see water underneath the car coming from the front side, I am not sure if this is related. I googled a little bit the problem of foggy windshield and some say it could be broken heater core. Do you think it could be heater core?
I did not find a solution to my 2011 Elantra GLS's windshield fogging up when it is raining. Other vehicles I owned would clear the foggy windscreen by simply turning the fan on the windshield setting. No A/C necessary.
However, when the Elantra fogs up while driving in the rain, it requires that I put the A/C on (not in recirc mode) to clear the glass. After it clears, I shut-off the A/C to conserve fuel, but after 30 secs or so, it begins to fog up again.
There is no apparent water in the car, or wet floormats, so I'm wondering what could cause this?
I got an 02 explorer xlt with the manual heater control and I've noticed now that it's getting colder it seems like my windshield and side windows are taking forever to clear up when they are foggy. When I put my hand up by the window or the vents for the driver/passenger side windows there's barely any air movement, and that is even when the blower is on the maximum level.
Another thing I've noticed is if I set it to floor only, it blows out the defrost. Same for the defrost only, I can feel some air blowing onto my feet. So what to look for when I pull this into a garage and start to looking around. I also changed the coolant and put in a new thermostat about a month ago, if that's of any importance.
I got into my car headed to work this morning and after backing out of the garage, noticed that my dash is cracking and peeling up around the windshield. (2008 600h L)
I had the windows tinted about a week ago, and am wondering if they could have dropped or left some sort of cleaner or chemicals on the dash.
Today morning all of a sudden windshield fluid refused to come out of both outlets in my ES350 Year 2007. it happened first time. all i see are few drops coming out of outlet holes but they are not sprayed on windshield at all. I tried to see if there is any ice blocking it but it looks good.
Temperature for last few nights is freezing cold around -25C (-9 F). I always use the proper windshield fluid and never use water.
I parked my car last night in front of the house at 11:30pm last night. The car has not been driven since. At around 1pm the next day my car alarm went off and I went to shut it off and noticed very minor misty smoke coming out of the hood by the windshield. I opened the hood and could smell electrical smoke. I could not find any noticeable damage. Checked fuses and relays. Does not seem to be a problem. However when I get close to the fuse and relay panel under the hood I could hear a clicking and very distant occasional hiss sound. I tried to start the car and everything seem to work but when I push the start button nothing. At this point I disconnected the battery. I called lexus and the rep said he had seen this before and indicated that it is probably a ground or something that corroded and shorted out.
View 5 RepliesI recently purchased a '09 LS460 SWB. I noticed the driver side windshield wiper arm sitting up high enough to be in my field of vision.
I'm aware that there is a "winter mode" that allows you to raise the arm up a few inches, but from everything I've read....usually the driver and passenger side arm raise together.
In my case, my passenger side arm sits nice and low near the hood, while the dirver is sitting an inch or two higher.
I tried pushing the driver arm down (with success), but after cycling the windshield wipers once, the driver side arm goes back to the higher position.
I took my car to the dealer last week to repair a clicking noise coming from the juncture of the right front windshield and dash. They said they added felt to the speaker grill and fixed it. NOT SO, still makes the noise, it is better though seems to get better when the weather is warmer. How to get the speaker grill off without damaging it. If so I will try to address the thing myself.
View 14 RepliesI just had the 30,000 mile service at a dealership, replaced a leaking water pump, front and rear brakes. The car has just 30k miles on it so it hasn't needed anything major despite being 10 years old. Once I got it back the front windows and windshield are fogging up. It doesn't seem to matter if the car just started or has been going for a while. We have had temperature changes and humidity changes in the weather, neither makes a difference. I have to drive with the windshield defrost on all the time. The dealer said it isn't anything they did, but it started immediately after I got it back. Is it possible that they knocked something and broke it?
View 10 RepliesI just noticed yesterday that on my windshield, next to the wipers, I'm missing a molding piece. I think that's why there are some wind noise in that area. Attached are two pictures. The one of the passenger side you can see the black molding. The one of the driver side is missing it. What is the part number?
View 2 RepliesMy headlights are getting foggy and I don't feel like polishing them anymore. I had it done about year and a half ago and the yellowing is coming back.
I heard TYC replacement headlights assemblies are decent and they are cheap.
How's the fit/quality etc, specifically on gen 5s?
I am talking about straight replacement retaining the OEM function. Not into HIDs and all that stuff at all.
My head lights appear foggy all the time. it is my feeling that headlights are not powerfully shining the lights on pitch dark roads. I paid $60 for a headlight clean at Toyota dealership, later realized it is a rip-off and I can get cleaning solutions at Walmart for $10. Even after service and cleaning, it appears dull. what is the solution?
View 7 RepliesSo my headlights are foggy, I've tried the DIY to fix it including wet sanding and using the plastic polish but within a few days it just goes back to normal... What I could be potentially doing wrong?
View 5 Replies 2003 xle with foggy headlights. Bought some aftermarket units.
Looking for the straight skinny on getting them out. Some have told me I have to drop the front bumper. Seems extreme to me.
Mine is quite dark and like, foggy? Is this typical or is it a problem ?
View 12 RepliesOur 2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, with 227,000 miles, recently started to fog up inside everytime we drive it. The dealership cleaned the sunroof drains thinking that was likely the cause (although, the car is always garage parked). That did not resolve the issue. We have to have the defrost on full blast to be able to see out the windows, and still we need to roll back windows down to wipe condensation to see out of them when making a turn.
View 8 RepliesMy 1995 Ford Taurus wagon has just developed a starting problem. When the air is damp and foggy, it will just crank but won't start. It has 177,000 miles on it and has always started right up. What could be causing this new problem?
View 3 RepliesJust bought my 2004 Jetta GLS from a dealership last week. 2.0 Engine. Has 140K miles on it. 2 hour drive from the dealership to home was cold and foggy but it ran fine. In town stop and go traffic in foggy conditions since last Thursday and it has run fine. Got a downpour this morning and all of a sudden it is running choppy and the CEL is flashing at me.
I have a 96 MK3 as well that would run badly in the rain until I changed out the Electronic Coil. Got so I would carry spares with me.
Is it the same fix for the MK4 2.0? I've also read about using epoxy or JB Weld to coat the coils and keep the water out. Does that work for the MK4 Ignition coil?
I just got my wagon (2002 used) and noticed that the chrome detailing around the back windows of my wagon were getting really foggy in the super humid weather. What is the solution? Wait for winter? I assume the high humidity is just causing condensation in the plastic/chrome or whatever and when I press my fingers hard to it it goes away (consistent with moisture). Can this be fixed? She is so adorable without these clouds!
