My wife has a 2010 ES-350.,with nav. Yesterday I noticed that the radio does not cut out when she is receiving the voice guidance message. It does cut out when she is on the telephone.Is the system working properly?
View 1 RepliesBrought the Prius v in yesterday for the 3 yr service. Service advisor was very nice, did not try to sell anything more than an oil change basically. I was concerned the voice prompts do not mute the radio, meaning it is very hard to understand the voice guidance unless you turn down the radio volume. Service advisor first calls and says the Bluetooth is working normally. I clarify that the Navigation voice prompts are the issue. He says he'll call back in a little bit. Calls back and says it is normal. Is this normal? The bluetooth functionality mutes the radio. I don't remember it being like that in the past....
View 4 RepliesSo, I've owned the PiP for 10 days and 140 miles, and this is the first car I've ever owned with built-in navigation (TomTom and Garmin have served me quite well previously). One of the benefits of built-in nav should be the integration of the voice guidance with the audio system. Yet on my PiP, the system does not mute the radio when the voice guidance announces a turn. Am I missing something? Is there a hidden setting? I've searched the manuals fruitlessly so far.

View 15 RepliesI bought the 2012 Prius three in Apr, and the navigation was working fine, when i entered a destination. When I entered a destination, it would say, "Please drive to the highlighted route" and it would tell the turn by turn directions and in case you miss the turn, it will immediately say "Route Recalculation" and then guide you to the next turn.
Somehow this stopped working and there is no voice guidance!!! Now when I enter the a destination, it will not say anything. If you are driving in the right direction, no turn by turn voice guidance. If you miss the turn, then it will say "calculating the route". This is driving me nuts since 2-3 weeks. I must have pressed some button or deactivated it unknowingly.
I took it to the dealer and the service technician could not figure it out. They said that they have to call the Toyota Technical Service to find out ( looks like only they can call, not the owner).
They said they tried to reset it to the factory setting, but that didn't work. Not sure if they know what they are doing. I think these technicians are mechanics, but not familiar with the software and the electronic components and their operation.
I'm looking at purchasing a 2014 ES300h. I have a couple voice command questions.
1. Can you adjust the cabin temperature by saying "driver temperature 67" ...
2. Can you adjust the radio by saying "XM Watercolors" ...
My NAV/Radio system won't function at all. When I turn on the car the first thing I get is the "splash screen" (and advertisement from Jim Falk Lexus), then the warning screen. Radio would come on for a few seconds then the screen will turn black and start all over again. It's in a continuous loop.
When I hold down the volume button for 4-5 seconds, it will re-boot but it will then continue to re-boot itself every few seconds. So is there any way to totally re-set the system? You know, like a "control-alt-delete" to start over from scratch?
I have an appointment on Friday and really don't want to be looking at the system go through this cycle every 5 seconds. It's very distracting. Plus I can't use my NAV, the radio, Bluetooth for my phone, etc...
It's a 2015 LS460 with the Mark Levinson system.
What is the voice command to turn Nav screen on/off? In my previous LS430, it was "screen on/off".

View 1 RepliesI notice in the service/diagnostic menu, there is a place to change the voice recognition (handsfree) settings. It appears to involve recording something (your voice, maybe?), since it has the same kind of record and stop buttons you see on YouTube or in WMP, etc.
How to adjust the microphone sensitivity using this diagnostic?
I've tried "tune to," but it keeps tuning to the closest AM or FM station that has those numbers in it. It works when I press the voice command and say "satellite," it goes to the last satellite channel that I was tuned to, but if I want to change the channel, it doesn't recognize the command.
View 3 RepliesI have Lexus 460 LS L 2007. Few months back changed the battery and every thing was ok. 2 months after I had problem in the sound system ( radio and dvd ) which was on and off. One month back suddenly I had all the warning lights in the dashboard on with massage saying that that the brake system is malfunctioning and check the ABS system.
I took the car to LEXUS dealer and they reprogrammed the computer abd then every thing went back to normal and the problem fixed. Two days after I had these warning lights again with the same massege. I do not know what to do ??
So here's the issue. I use voice recognition to tune my radio, but it doesn't tune.

My question: can I customize the audio menu to a shorthand list of commands? Example, instead of verbalizing "dial by name" make the verbal menu choice say, "name".
I just bought a 2014 Prius Three on Monday.
Yesterday, I accidentally hit the Voice Command button. It went to the screen and I got out of it. However then I couldn't hear any sound. The radio was clearly playing but no sound. When I pressed source it just showed a symbol in top right corner. I guess I should have thought to just turn the car off and restart because when I got home and did that, it worked fine.
My main question is about about the iphone 5, bluetooth, and Voice Controls.
I have bluetooth and Personal Hotspot enabled (so I do not have it plugged in to usb outlet) on my iphone enabled but it appears that I cant say "Play (Artist)" and have it play that from my iphone. It says something about an unsupported media device.
When I push the button on my Iphone and tell it to play a song, it does play a song but not the song I requested. It also shows on the car display that it is calling myself.
Voice commands for calling seem to work but I can't figure out if it is not possible to play songs using voice commands with an iphone or what the issue is.
Voice command feature not responding to your voice input. I have noticed that after send saying a few voice commands like setting up an address for Navigation (city, street, number etc) the system seems to stop recognizing that I saying a command. I push the voice command and the system will respond with "Say a command", to which I would say a command but the system doesn't seem to either hear me speak or respond to my command. It seems as if the microphone has stopped working or else the voice recognition system has hung up.
Mine is a 2012 Mark Levinson Nav system.
Even though I have my 2013 Prius for 2 months, I just started trying the voice command system. I find that the volume of the voice prompts are very very low, and can't figure out how to raise that volume. The volume controls on the steering wheel have no effect, the radio volume control knob doesn't do anything, and there's no icon on the audio/navigator screen to make the voice prompts any louder (that I can see or find). It's probably something real easy and I'm just missing it, right?
View 1 RepliesI recently leased a new 13RX350. Something I find really annoying is switching the radio between FM/AM/XM. When I press "mode" on the steering wheel to change from one frequency to the next, the pre-set stations do not follow. What is I mean is if i am listening to XM Radio, and then I press "mode" to switch to FM and want to press the up/down to change the channel, I still get the XM Radio channel. The pre-set list does not change to FM and its such a hassle having to use the control console and scroll up 6 lists of pre-sets to get to FM. I'm wondering why Lexus did not make this more intuitive?
View 6 RepliesI have a '13 GS with the Luxury Package that has the rear seat climate & radio controls. I'm not sure if there is an issue or if the system is locked....Of the rear controls everything related to audio portion works correctly...Now if I try to turn on the heated seats, or change the temperature, or blower speed none of those work as they should.
