Drove my 2010 E350 for dinner under heavy rain fall on Friday, today found out area under carpet on the passenger side (only) are all soaking wet, do not know where the water coming from, what is the cause of the leaking and how to stop it happens again ?
View 7 RepliesIn my 07 ES350 I had water on the carpet of the drives side all the way to the backseat! I was gone for a coupla days when this happened and with the heat it sure did have a musky odor when I opened the door!
I have looked all around the sunroof and cleaned the edges could not see anything that would leak although under the sunroof at the front there was water in the tray.
Then I looked all around the windshield. Could not see anything that could cause a leak. Lightly hosed off the car today and had water dripping down the driver side pillar and the covering for the pillar was wet.
This car has never had a leak anywhere until now. Gonna have to have the carpet removed and steam cleaned I guess to get rid of the odor, but not until I stop the leak!!!!
I have a persistent leak that causes the front passenger carpet to get wet after a heavy rain. Truck went to the dealer under warranty and they resealed the third brake light. Not sure if it ever fixed the problem, but I probably didn't check it as often as I should have after the repair. We've had a few good rain storms and the carpet is getting pretty wet. Since the truck is now out of warranty (2011 F150) I made a new gasket for the third brake light. I think it's pretty well sealed, so I'm thinking the leak is coming from somewhere else.
View 14 RepliesI was driving in a heavy rain on Saturday and all of the sudden the proximity sensor just went off without anything even close proximity then the left blinker just went off by itself. I cut off the engine then restart couple of time but that didn't work. After 3 hours in the dealer, the mechanic still couldn't figure it out, they said they needed more time to trace the source of the problem. Electrical problem on my 13 RX350 FSport....
View 9 RepliesTook my Mazda in because floorboards were soaking wet after it rained (it has done this off and on for a while). Dealership thought it might be clogged drain holes but found they were ok. After further inspection they said my rear tail lamp assemblies were leaking on both sides and both had to be replaced to fix the leaking. They want to charge me almost 1K to do this! Isn't there a gasket or seal on the tail lamp assembly that can just be replaced? Or does the assemblies come as one unit? Is there something else that can be done? 2010 Mazda 3 Grand Touring....
View 7 RepliesWe have had a 2004 Volvo XC70 for two years now, problem-free. But recently we experienced a strange, new thing. We were driving in a very heavy rain in Maine (during the hurricane) and suddenly the engine began screaming...not at all like a loose belt or bad bearing, but really loud, seeming from right front. We stopped, no idots lights came on. Began again, soon the same thing. Stopped again, waited, then took off again, with rain lessening. No further problems the rest of the drive back to Vermont. But now, we occasionally have the screaming, only briefly and ONLY when it rains. It concerns us a bit.

View 14 RepliesLast night it rained pretty hard. We were getting back into the gx and my wife ask me why the floor is wet. I thought maybe it was tracked in on our shoes. Well upon further investigating i noticed a stream coming down the inside of my dash by the obd2 connection and where your left shin would be. I pulled the scuff plates off and its flooded.

View 3 RepliesGot my IS 350 F Sport on 6/30 and I love it... but I found my first fault in the car... and I hope it can be fixed or I am wrong... The wipers just aren't that fast.... and their are very few speeds...
The FAST wipers setting (all the way down, clicking twice) doesn't hold up well against heavy ran...this setting is like Medium-High on my old 2013 Infiniti... But the Infiniti almost had a "VERY HIGH" setting and it was great for down pours... this "high" on the lexus just isn't that good... and quiet frankly IS NOT SAFE.
Also, pushing it down once for the intermediate setting where you can twist for 3 different speeds just isn't enough as well...

The A pillar on the driver side started leaking during a heavy rain. The water leak started where there is a seam on the A pillar. My RX stays outside and I would not surprised if a vent tube or hole has clogged up and thus made the water back up instead of draining but that is just a guess.

View 2 RepliesIt happened twice since June when we (central NJ) have had really heavy rains. My front passenger side carpet becomes absolutely soaked, but everything else stays completely dry. Do you think the rubber trim has failed? A regular wash is fine, nothing gets in from that. My car is a 2006 B6 with about 97k on it. It's weird.
View 1 RepliesAfter several days of rain I found that the drivers side carpet is soaked. Upon further investigation I realized it was coming from underneath the car rather than from the side. I was able to put my hand under the carpet and feel the metal body underneath. It was soaked. I have never had this problem before and have not been in an accident. The car drives very well and has 130 miles. I recently replaced the transmission and was hoping to have this for a few more years.

Few months ago , I notice that the steering getting heavy after driving like 15Kms. At the morning it's normal , and while driving also normal , Just heavy when the vehicle at low speed. I checked the Fluid , it was very dark , SO i changed it with new oil , but after like week , it be heavy all the times , also some noise sound at the power steering bump when move the steering .
I check at work shop, the advice me to change the fluid again, since they assumed that the fluid not suitable for the vehicle.
I have a 2003 BMW 525i. A couple of years ago, after a heavy rainstorm, I found water in the footwell of the backseat behind the driver’s seat. I took my car to a mechanic and he mentioned the door’s vapor barrier and the vapor barrier was resealed. Again a heavy rain storm, back to the mechanic and the vapor barrier was resealed. This has happened three times and I feel that there is a problem somewhere that has been overlooked by my mechanic. Normally, my car is garaged, but when out of town, my poor car is at the mercy of the weather.
View 2 RepliesFriend has '04 LS and he says that after a heavy rain, his LS will only go about 25 mph. Water is getting into something but where? This lasts for about 2 weeks and then all is OK. Water is finally evaporating, I assume, and problem goes away.
