Replacing or cleaning speaker grills. Previous owner has alot of marks on mine and was considering replacing the fabric or cleaning them. The marks are scuff marks so I am not sure that the will come off easy.
View 4 RepliesHow to remove the door speaker grills on a 3rd Gen IS or a 4th Gen GS350 (without removing the door panels)? They appear to have the same 7" black plastic grill between IS and GS model.
I tried to pop them off with my fingers but it wouldn't budge...my finger nails bent halfway back though.
On my 10 LS460 swb am contemplating cleaning the MAF sensor.
As the battery is in its own corner, I'm not too sure how to disconnect the negative terminal so I want to know, if I clean the MAF sensor and leave the battery connected, will that have adverse affect?
I think pulling and re plugging a specific fuse will also work?
My center speaker grill in the middle of the dashboard makes rattle noises when the temperature drops. So in the summer the parts expand to be tight and no noise. As soon as the temp drops <60F, the parts shrink slightly and the speaker grill makes all kinds of creaking, rattling noises as the car goes over bumps, goes around turns, etc.

This weekend, I drove 2 hours, stopped for a few minutes, then when I started the car there was no sound from speakers. Just 2 tapping noises from right rear speaker. Turning the radio off, then on I only heard the 2 pop sounds.
I left the radio on even though no sound. Monday night, starting the car for the 3rd time that day, the speakers worked. The next morning the speakers did not work. Now I just hear the 2 tapping noises, when the car is started or radio turned off/on, then nothing.
This happened twice before, once last year and once 4 weeks ago. Both times, the speakers started working the next day.
i have been searching forums and cant find nothing with this exact problem. i have been having a problem with my ML stereo system, i have a 2007 Lexus Ls460L, like a week ago my driver side door speaker was going in and out then it just cut out completely, 3 days later all my door speakers and sub went out but all my highs are still on playing normal i see post saying the amps go bad but everyone says a chirping noise or no sound but i have sound but only in for my highs i have no bass at all.
View 2 RepliesOne of the LED lights in the front overhead panel appears to be burned out. How do I replace this? These are the lights up next to the sunroof controls. One switch controls three of these LED's. I'm hoping this is an easy repair.
2007 ES 350.
I put a new battery in my 2007 LS460 and it lit up all kinds of vsc, brake, abs, pcs, stop the vehicle immediately, etc. A 30 minute freeway trip, then 1 hr turned off has not changed anything.
Background: no warnings before the dead battery, but the rear window would reverse when it got part way. I was monkeying with it, and found the weather seal crimped right there. I left the ignition on by mistake. 8 hours later, the 1 year old battery was dead. I hooked up a good charger and it nearly cranked 20 minutes later with the charger connected so I left it until the charger said it was done and unhooked it. There were no dash lights and my voltmeter read something like 3 volts.
I pulled it out and replaced it, which cranked right up and runs great, but has all these errors. I'm having trouble walking right now, but when I get a chance, I'll check the voltage on the new battery in case the car isn't charging, but I would have expected the two long drives yesterday to kill the battery again if it wasn't. I also have a ScanGaugeE which I may use to read and reset the codes.
I need to replace the original driver side HID bulb on my '07 ES350. I intend on doing this myself. I found the thread that listed detailed steps which I'm sure will be very useful.
Any tips as far as getting to the actual bulb? It looks pretty cramped in that area.
I have the adaptive headlights that turn with the steering wheel. Any special steps needed for this headlight?
The clear cover on the directional signal on the right rear view mirror was smashed in a parking lot. I have purchased the replacement part but am looking for instructions as to how to replace it.

View 12 RepliesI already paid deposit to a dealer to buy a 2012 RX350. But I just noticed there are lots of rust on the subframe and attached components at the the underside of the vehicle. I made a video, but I could not upload it due to the size of the file. I uploaded some pictures for you to see. One rust spot is on the real frame. Or there is no way to clean up the rust because the rust are already there? The mileage of the vehicle is 81,000 KM)?
View 11 RepliesWe have a 2012 RX450h and it currently has about 60500 miles. These engines are direct injected correct? If so, intake cleaning due to carbon build up?
We also have a 2008 335 and it is recommended that these direct injected cars will require some kind of cleaning at some point in time. It seems that walnut blasting is the recommended method for bmw's but I can't say that I've read anything on these Lexus forums about intake cleaning.
I have a 2006 Lexus GS 300 and the dash board speaker (above navigation) went out. I'm having a hard time finding a replacement. Where to get this or even a part number? BTW, it is the Mark Levinson system.
View 3 RepliesA loud throbbing noise suddenly started last night in the rear speaker of my 2010 Santa Fe. I think the speaker is blown. Can I pull the fuse until I can get this to the dealer? Which fuse? I can not locate a fuse map. I tried #13 and #31 based on an old fuse map online but the noise continued.
The noise is loud and I can't drive with my toddler in the car.
Driver's side isn't putting out any bass at all. Passenger side isn't sounding good either.
Since I don't know if the speaker is dead, or if the amp channel is dead, I'm going to order just one speaker at first and replace the driver's side. If it starts working I'll either repair the foam on the passenger side (most likely thing wrong with it) or order another speaker. If it doesn't start working, the replacement will go in the passenger door, and I'll consider if it's worth getting the Mark Levinson amp repaired.
I used the Autosound 2000 disc 105 Track 24 to check this. Put that track on repeat, then use the balance/fader controls to target individual channels. Track 25 will test the mid-bass speaker found in the front doors, then Track 26 for the tweeter.

I used the above referenced harness on my 04 Lexus GX to install a Pioneer Avic 7000NEX. The radio sounds great and most everything works as it should. However, I am getting no sound from the rear speakers. I connected the harness as instructed (quadruple checked the connections).

View 2 RepliesThe rear speaker volume in my 2010 RX 350 is very low. They produce sound but can only be heard when I put the balance almost completely in the rear. I prefer not to pay hundreds to the dealer and then possibly be told that I need to go to an audio specialist.
