Whenever i'm on the highway my car is very loud. Mainly when going over 60 mph. Its road noise, very loud like a plane going down a runway. My alignment isn't perfect, but could it be anything else?

View 3 RepliesFor the past few months I've been hearing a loud fan-like buzzing noise coming from the passenger side of the front of the car. I don't know that much about cars, but it almost sounds like the engine is racing or something is spinning too fast. It has gotten increasingly worse, and seems especially loud at high speeds on the highway.
It is not the heating/cooling fan - the noise is present when the heating/cooling system is turned off.
So I noticed I had some wind noise on the highway coming from my sunroof. It was actual wind coming through the dry rotted seals around the glass. Well I got really lucky and a truck kicked something up on the highway and it went right through the glass. Called the insurance company and since glass is covered free in Ma, they shipped an OEM sunroof to the local shop. Got it put in this morning, and it is all quiet again.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2007 LS I purchased a few months ago. Wind noise from windows is very loud. I applied the jmcraney fix this week - did it exactly as the directions say. Made no difference in wind noise - still get a bunch of wind noise through the windows. My LS has 70k miles so it is out of warranty.
View 14 RepliesOccasionally, when I start my 07 I hear a loud zip noise that seems to be coming from the front of the car somewhere. I know it's kinda tough to pinpoint. Something running against the teeth of plastic gears comes to mind.
I should also mention that it happens immediately after the engine has started, about the same time the self leveling headlights start to move.
I recently purchased a beautiful 07 LS460 with 24K miles about 3 weeks ago.
About 2 weeks ago, I noticed a loud clicking / hammer noise from the dashboard lasting about 15- 20 seconds and after reviewing numerous threads here, I realized it could be my blender door / damper due to the infamous cabin air filter change. .
It must be noted that the Dealer did not change the cabin air filter and when I looked inside my glove box, I could easily open / close the blender door using the recirc ac button. Additionally, my cooling and fan is working fine as well, so I am not too sure that this is a blender door issue.
My question is that the noise continues to happen for about 20 seconds when the car is started and shut off. Since my blender door / damper opens and closes smoothly, is the servo motor going bad or servo sub assembly?
If it is my servo motor, could it be possible that it was damaged when the cabin filter was replaced? With the car only bearing 24K miles, I cant believe my servo motor has already gone bad!
I picked up a 09 ls460 swb a few months back and am slowly turning it into my daily.
at an angle causes a loud popping noise from my roof. I checked the headliner to see if anything was loose but came up with nothing. This occasionally happens on sharp turns on uneven ground.
I recently lowered my car so now this is happening way too often.
The sound system in my 2008 LS 460 suddenly stopped and a loud thumping noise comes up in all speakers even if the radio is turned off. There is no music at all only that loud noise. Bluetooth does not work as well as command voice and the GPS guiding system. I had to remove the fuse to stop the thumping sound. To answer my telephone I must pull on the side of the road and turn off the motor. Car dealership said that it is the first time they see that. The car is scheduled to be looked at in a couple of days.

When the car is in a situation where there is a twisting force, such as entering an inclined driveway from an angle, a loud POP is sometimes heard from the rear of the car. The intensity of the POP varies dependent on speed and angle of incline, higher speed/greater incline/decline produce a louder POP.

View 14 RepliesI was driving down the highway when I had this loud bang and twang, after inspecting the car I realized it was the left rear seat belt that was broken. The seat belt fails to retract and cannot be pulled. I'm guessing the retractor is the fault.

I had the wheel bearings replaced at my 5000 mile oil change. The noise is still there. Rotors warped, axle bearings, it gets louder when I turned to the right on the highway and gets quieter when I turn left (classic wheel bearing sound).
View 10 RepliesOn my way home from work tonight cruising on the highway, heard a loud thump followed by continuous thumps thereafter. Knowing this wasn't good pulled over to find a nice big nail in my passenger side front tire, great. thought I could make it home, I was about 6 exits away...one exit later nail flew out and tire was loosing air.
- luckily for me, I had a friend who lived nearby the exit the nail flew off and put on the spare.... now my question is I noticed some camber wear on the tire.. 15,200 miles to be exact on the stock oem bridgestones.
- I know these tires are complete crap but... is this camber wear normal? I've seen other posts about it but, is it the tires? or something to do with the car? I am pretty sure my alignment is fine. If I buy a new set of tires eventually will this end up happening again? Trying to gain some knowledge for the future.
Also is it true that with AWD cars, if you change one tire you have to change all 4? because it might mess up the drivetrain or something, at least that's what I was told.
Blizzak WS70s? I just got them from a friend and they make a "whiny" noise on the highway under acceleration, seems to get higher pitched the more I accelerate. The sound seems to change under different pavement types so thats why I assume its just a loud tire.

View 19 RepliesI have a 2011 Camry SE...and its very quiet inside when doing city driving...but as soon as i hit the highway and go beyond 60mph...i hear constant loud engine noise inside the cabin... (Sounds like tapets of a bike)
I talked to the dealership and they said it is normal as its a 2.5Ltr engine and its Sports tuned for higher pickup! Is this normal or i need to get something check?
