View 1 RepliesI recently leased a 2013 RX 350 and started hearing a weird loud noise almost in the first week itself. It seems to happen whenever I shift the gears from Reverse to Drive. The loud noise comes from the back of the car and anyone sitting in the car (speakers turned off) can hear/feel it. It seems to be worse in the morning (or when the engine is cold).
I took it to the lexus service center and the person told me something about differential pressure, which I really didn't understand:-). However, he said nothing can be done and its not a safety issue and sent me back home without any fix. I have driven many cars in my life so far and never ever came across something like this. Is it something normal at all?
I just started hearing a loud click when I change from park to reverse and from reverse to drive. If I keep moving the knob between those three spots with my foot on the brake and hand brake off, I hear a loud click at each spot. Hard to describe... anyway, this only happens when I first start the car, by the time I get to work if I try doing that when I park there is no loud click sound. The thing is, I don't know if this was always happening and I just noticed it now, or if it just started.

View 2 RepliesI always thought the clicking sound I was hearing in the morning was coming from the engine. Then I realized the sound doesn't start until the car is in gear, either reverse or drive. After a few minutes it will go away but until it does, it is a noticeable sound. I still have a warranty. I am wondering what this could be.

I'm not due for service or an oil change for another 5,000 miles so I'm hoping it's not something I need to address immediately. Do you think it would be safe to wait until then?
Having issues with brake noise when only in reverse? I have extremely loud break noise only when I reverse out. Could this just mean I need to get a break change?

This is nothing major, I just don't want to hear this noise on a half million dollar car.
2001 Audi A6 2.7T 95k miles....car is making a very loud squeaking/chirping noise when going over bumps...it was making it at low speeds, now it's making it at both low and high speeds. Would control arms make that much noise? I know that is a common problem with these cars. If the squeak is coming from the control arms, can I just grease them?

View 3 RepliesI have a 07 gs350. My car wouldn't start this morning let alone turn on. I heard this constant beeping noise coming from the hood and it was the battery. I unplugged the battery and the noise stopped. But once I plugged it back in the noise came back. I was in a rush to get to work this morning so I just unplugged it and let it sit for a few minutes before plugging it back in to see if it work.. it did not. This battery is only about 1 year old too.
View 3 RepliesSo my 2010 with 20k miles on it just started to have some jingling/chirping noises around the drive belt area. It isn't all that loud but i can hear it. Could this be just a simple loose belt? Are our belts auto adjusting or manually adjusted? The noise increases with engine rpm in all gears and in neutral. Is def coming from the belt area.
One pulley does seem like it is not perfectly round and I can see some very slight run out from side to side. Nothing really obvious though - that might be normal?
MY Ls460 2010 AWD is making annoying ticking noise since I bought it 2 months ago ( 76k milage ) , it seems that the sound is mainly coming under the hood on right front fender side .

The conditions when the noise appears are as follows:
Start car, turn AC on, place into drive/reverse. Rattle is present initially, then goes away after driving a bit.
The noise seems to be worse after the car has been sitting overnight.
If car is started and placed in drive/reverse without turning on the AC, then the noise is not present.
If the car is started and the AC turned on and the car is in park/neutral, then the noise is not present.
The tensioner pulley seems to be moving quite a bit in the video. Is this normal?
2002 Camry, Automatic Transmission
Have an occasional problem. When shifting from park to drive/reverse, I occasionally get a loud, brief (1 -2 seconds) rattling noise from the engine compartment. It's my daughter's car so not sure yet if this is a cold start only issue or if present after car has been driven, then stopped and re-started. The problem does only occur occasionally. Where to start troubleshooting? I've looked for loose external pasts with nothing found.
So I am a hearing a whining noise in the rear end area sounds like its coming from passenger rear wheel well. It sometimes happens when driving forward. What it could possibly be ?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Mazda 6 with 133000 miles on it. Recently it has started making a very loud sound that comes from under the hood. The sounds is comparable to the sound a semi truck makes if it is idling. The noise is not constant, usually happens when I put the car in park or if I'm driving at low speed (under 20mph). The sound lasts around one minute.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 f250 lariat 192k no mods except k&n filter everything is stock. I have 2" pro comp level kit and a scan gauge 2 nothing fancy! Well the other day I noticed my truck was chirping like a Chirp chirp chirp...... Chirp chirp...... Chirp chirp chirp! It goes up and down with the rpm's but it's comes on and off only when the engine is up to running temps the belt does squeak during warm up but I don't think that's it, it's coming from the back of the engine I'm sure of it because I used a paper towel tube and listed right in the turbo hpop area on top of the engine but it's too hard to tell I can't find exactly where it's coming from, some people I've had listen think it's a belt or pulley or tensioner! But I'm not sure if it is because I've sprayed water, and wd40 on the belt and pulleys with no change!!! I'm afraid it's a lifter or something inside the engine yet it's too loud and pronounced to sound like it's coming from the inside! I'm just lost!

The other day I had my windows open while backing up and noticed that the brakes make a clicking noise when I initially apply them while in reverse.
This happens every time I'm in reverse and I apply the brakes.
The clicking is only when I first step on the brake, but it happens every time I first step on the brake in reverse.
Maybe this is unique to the LS600hL (2008)? Are brakes on my LS different from brakes on LS460 / LS460L?
