Most of the times the headlights on my 08 works fine but sometimes one of them won't turn on. It happens to both sides and is happening more often now. Wondering if this is a sign of bulb going bad or the battery...
View 3 RepliesSo my left headlight will randomly turn off while I am driving. If i turn off the lights and turn them back on its comes back on. Sometimes I have to do this a few times in order for it to work. What are possible issues that I could be having. Right now I am thinking it could be the ballast or the fuses. If the bulb had gone out it shouldn't be turning on at all right?

Here's the situation so far: Whenever I turned my headlights on, the driver's side bulb would turn off after 5 minutes.
Replaced both bulbs
Drivers side bulb stayed on for about 20 - 25 minutes at first then started going off after just a few minutes
Replaced ballast (new) on drivers side but same results as above where light stayed on for about 20 - 25 minutes at first then going off again after a few minutes. Each time light stayed on for a shorter period of time
Bought 2 more bulbs and replaced both again in case first set was bad. Same thing still happens and bulb tends to flicker at times.
I am at a loss as to why the drivers side light will not stay on after changing the ballast and the bulbs twice. Also, I've noticed that the drivers side bulb is noticeably dimmer than the passenger side bulb even though both bulbs are brand new.
What the problem might be? I'm at a loss now and not sure what to do next.
When I go through a tunnel or under a bridge with my headlights on the Auto setting the lights will turn on, but wont turn themselves back off when it is no longer dark.
View 6 RepliesHere is the story, My HID headlights at 45k miles started to flicker and within seconds turn off. My only solution was to turn the lights on/off but the problem would constantly reoccur.
After calling the dealership and speaking to the morons there, I decided to replace the bulbs myself. I successfully replaced both hid headlight bulbs and the bulbs seemed to work perfectly. Sadly, the next day I realized that bulbs would still go out, sometimes the left side, sometimes the right side, sometimes both sides.
I have a 05 lexus rx330, i bought it in december 2014. And the dealership replace the left headlight assembly because the headlight was foggy and watery and it wasnt turning on. And now 5 months later, the light is on and flickering, and later after 10 seconds it turn off.
View 3 RepliesI noticed that driving my LS last weekend that the right headlight was fluttering going down the road. It did not go off but it looked like a loose connection. When I arrived at the golf course, someone told me that he noticed that the right headlight was out. Now I got home and I have checked the headlight and nothing seams to be a problem. Both low beam and high beams go off and on with no problem. My question is : is the headlight bulb going out or do I have a connection problem? I hate to take off the tire and inner wheel cover to change the bulb unless I need to. Second question: If I have to change the bulb what is the best brand to use?

Today I noticed that my driver side headlight goes out , I turn it off and turned it back on and it's good to go but after a minute it turns off. This could be a bad ballast . How to change a ballast or headlight bulb in an LS before? Is there a link that I can go to and check it out ? Or this is one of those that the bumper has to come off .

View 4 RepliesI must be missing something does this make sense to me. Headlight switch is on auto. If I go into the nav unit to vehicle settings. I find the headlight timer settings. If I set it to 30 sec. the headlights turn off when I shut off the car and then wait 30 seconds.
But if I set it to OFF and then turn off the car the headlights should turn off. Instead they stay on, and from what I can tell never turn off. I waited 5 minutes before I gave up and changed the setting back.
To me OFF should mean there is no delayed timer and the lights just come on when it is dark and off in daylight. Of course with the car started and the headlight switch still on auto.
I have a question. When I turn my car on the passenger head light comes on, but when i start driving it goes out the low beam.

View 14 RepliesI have a 2007 and lately the driver's side headlight goes out sometimes when I'm driving. If I turn the lights off, and then back on, it will light up again and stay lit. Sometimes it will work for weeks and then all of a sudden it will go out. So I'm thinking of replacing the bulb(s)
Are the headlight bulbs in the 2007 SC regular light bulbs that I can purchase at a local automotive store?

View 14 RepliesThe right front headlight sometimes doesn't work on our Lexus. One time my wife was driving home after dark and it didn't work. When she got home I tried it and it worked fine. A couple days ago she was pulled over by the police because the same headlight was out. Once again when I went to try it, it was fine. What might be the problem. Loose connection or wiring?? By the way... I have been reading about the windows popping out and the clips breaking. Same thing happened at around 60,000 miles to the right side, with no tint.
View 14 RepliesI have an unusual issue with the drivers side headlight. I recently got a used 2008 ES350 and the drivers side headlight aims high and dazzles oncoming traffic. I have adjusted the two screw adjusters their full range but cannot get the light to aim horizontally. The lights are HID AFS. The car was in a previous accident and the front drivers side wing was repaired.
I have a feeling the body shop did not do a great job (the paintwork is not great) and the light may not be mounted at the correct angle. The AFS works fine for the LH headlight but I don't see much movement of the RH light? Perhaps they installed a non AFS unit during the repair. How to check the alignment of the headlight assembly and body work, and how to correct the headlight problem if the screw adjusters don't move the beam.
I can't remove the retaining clip to replace the passenger's side low beam headlight bulb. I was able to, with some difficulty, replace the driver's side but space is tighter on the passenger side.
