I have a small oil leak on the car. I took it today to Lexus to get them do a quick check and it's coming from the back of the engine near the top on the right side. What gaskets are in that area?
The car has already had the crank seal and timing cover gaskets replaced at 31,000km.
The car has 60,000km on it now. Also, any common problems with the ES350 to do with oil leaks?
The A/C in my 2007 ES 350 blows about 20 degrees warmer out the drivers side than passenger side with both sides set the the same temp.
View 5 RepliesI need to replace the original driver side HID bulb on my '07 ES350. I intend on doing this myself. I found the thread that listed detailed steps which I'm sure will be very useful.
Any tips as far as getting to the actual bulb? It looks pretty cramped in that area.
I have the adaptive headlights that turn with the steering wheel. Any special steps needed for this headlight?
I have an '07 ES350 with the factory HID headlights. The driver side headlight will start to flicker a few minutes after being turned on and then eventually turn off. Turning the headlights switch off and then back on will turn this headlight back on but it will start to flicker again after a few minutes.
I had this problem last year with the same headlight and took it to the dealer who replaced the HID bulb but now it's back again. I've also noticed it seems to occur during the cold winter months and not so much during warmer weather.
The passenger side HID works fine with no problems. Perhaps it's a loose wiring connection but I'm not sure if this is something that can be checked without taking the entire HID assembly apart.
I have a 2009 Lexus ES350. For some reason I got in the car today and I turn on my car and turn on my AC unit on, the driver side ac vent was blowing warm-cold air while the passenger side was blowing nice cold air. I thought it was my fuse, so I disconnect both AC fuse for a hour and reconnected back on and noting change.
View 2 RepliesWould be very interested in any fixes known for an annoying, recurring drivers side window/upper door frame rattle in my 2008 ES 350, occurs when going over bumps, uneven roads, or sometimes with just normal driving. Intermittent, but very common. Have had dealer address this and they replaced the "glass run" on that side, but rattle returned within a few days. Will try some silicon spray to dampen it, but seems like there is some flaw when the window is full up to door frame that produces this ticking rattle- can eliminate it by lowering the window an inch so that it does not insert into door frame.
View 7 RepliesYesterday my passenger front window popped out of it's track. Then when we tried to pop it back in and get it to go back up, it completely popped out and up about 3 inches from the frame of the door. Enough to be able to fit a had through no problem.
I am taking the car in tomorrow to have it looked at and get a quote to fix. From what I've read, it's a super pricey fix. So bummed because I just bought the car about 6 weeks ago (if that) ...
I have a ES350 and it is doing the issue of having warm air (or not cooled air) on the driver side, but has cold air on the passenger side. I looked around and saw it was a common problem. One of the solutions I read was to just refill the system with R134A. Not a problem for me, except I don't know where the low pressure port is located in my car. I was trying to find a online service repair manual on my car to locate where I need to connect to, to recharge the system.
View 12 RepliesMy 2011 ES 350 has auto locks as to when I touch the door handle, it unlocks the doors. However, the driver's door only unlocks the driver's door, whereas any other doors unlock all of the doors. Is there a way to make the driver's door handle unlock all of the doors?

My car ES350 2008 ... NEW about 2000 miles ...
Have a lexus es350 (2007). While driving to work, engine light came on. after reaching work tighted the gas cap and while driving back , light was not on for sometime and then came on. Didnt drive to work car after that. Next day evening drove to dealership and they diagnosed as waterpump replacement requird. Overheating indicator never went high while we were driving. After water pump replacement, dealer said engine wont start and compression test failed. Need new heads and gasket at a cost of $7184 additional. Dealer and I spoke to customer service case manager and they refused with such a high expense. Tried to tell them that we have owned 4 Toyota/Lexus cars , have been loytal Toyota customers (last one bought in 2012) etc. , but, nothing seems to make a difference to them. The decision was already made before they talked to me. Car has only 60K miles. Last maintenance was done at 56K (oil change, fluid levels etc). I owned 3 Toyotas for 100K before I sold and 2 Hondas. None had such a high expense at 60K.

View 8 RepliesI recently hit 180,000 km on my mileage and all of the sudden theres increased ticking engine noise and vibration. Sounds like a diesel engine. No check engine lights, gas mileage is the same, acceleration is the same and as far as I can tell after checking oil its within normal range for now.
I'm worried its either the VVTi Rubber hose exploded or its the VVTI Camshaft / piston slap issue. My dilemna is I'm 3 hours drive away from a Lexus dealer but there is a Toyota Dealer 10 min away. Should I bring it in to verify theres no oil leak at Toyota and then take it back to a Lexus mechanic to see if it is Camshaft gear ?
I recently did the repair on my wife's 06 Scion TC for head gasket
I notice there is a slight oil leak.what appears to be oil at least on the back side of the engine but it's right at/above the power steering pump. When I was putting the car back together I used ultra grey instead of the gasket. This is the only area that can leak and I've check the solenoid above the tensioned.
Do you have to use the gasket or ultra ok? I thought that it was power steering pump but it's coming from a area what appears to be higher. Haven't notice a lost of power steering fluid either. Wife said she notices loss in oil. Front/sides are dry as the desert.
Today I did a oil change (70k). While under the car I notice a small leak from the back side of the engine. When I got home, I had the chance to remove the engine cover to investigate and clean the engine up a bit.
I found that the bolts in the rear of the valve cover had a little puddle of oil around them. I took a T-30 torque bit and was able to get a least a full turn on the rear bolts and about half turn on the middle ones. Fronts were about a quarter turn. Check your valve cover bolts.
I have an 04 Excursion with a 6.0PSD. I am currently experiencing a coolant leak, not very bad at the moment but I would like to fix it. The coolant is running down the back right side of the engine and I can see coolant pooling on the pan on top of the motor, specifically the right side. I can see some moisture on the front of the engine but it is below the top of the engine and I do not think this would be the cause since coolant won't flow up hill. I can't see or smell any coolant flowing when the engine is running but see it at idle and when parked.

View 2 RepliesI have a small coolant leak coming from the passenger side near the back of the engine that forms a spot about the size of a dinner plate if it sits for a few days.
One thing I noticed is if I turn off the AC selector switch when I park I will get the drip but if I leave the switch on MAX AC when I shut the truck off I do not get any leaking.
It is definitely coolant and not just the condensation from use of the AC. If I haven't used the truck for a few days or if I have run it with the AC off I will get the drips.
If I run with the AC on and leave the switch in the on position when I shut the truck off it won't leak. I have tried to locate it from looking above and below but can't determine where it is coming from.
I have tested 07 UL package a while ago, really liked the car, how it drives, really quiet, very smooth, good acceleration, very comfy etc. the only concern for me is it spacious enough ? I'm driving around 90% in town, how is it on a long trips with 2 - 4 people.... ?
Immediately after I parked ES 350, I have tried LS460 07 AWD, somehow it felt under power for me, maybe cuz it's a awd.. ES was faster in my opinion. It had it 100k miles on it, the car felt really solid like a rock, safer, but slower. Maybe a RWD would feel differently.
My plan is keep the car for 5 years or so, I'm also concern about maintenance costs too. As today I'm pretty much can get a LS 460 07 or ES 350 UL 10-12' for the same price.
