View 1 RepliesJust had both my low beam D4S headlights replaced at an auto shop. Once I turn the car on or flick the low beam headlights on, they turn on for about 10 seconds and then the driver followed by the passenger low beam headlights turn off. Why this is happening as both bulbs are brand new. Before I had the bulbs replaced only one bulb worked so I elected to get both replaced.
View 2 RepliesMy car is fully stock, with all options available to me (cold weather package not available here). The low-beam triple-LED headlights are aimed way too low compared to all my previous cars, and where they should be. BUT high-beam is aimed properly. So if I adjust the low-beams up, my high-beams might end up lighting up the trees, not the road.
If adjust the headlights up on a fully stock car (not lowered at the front)? Are the high beams still lighting up the road fine? And if you can be specific as the number of turns on the screwdriver, it'd be good too to have an initial adjustment reference.
I am trying to figure out how to adjust my low beam headlights. i just need to move them up a little bit.
View 42 RepliesI have a 2008 Hyundai Santa fe and have recently had both low beam headlights go out. The running lights and high beams still both work. I read both bulbs as sat 0.5ohm(left) and 0.5ohm(right). Connections were right. I also read fuses in engine compartment HLP LO for both RH and LH. Still I swapped them both with the HHP HI and both worked for high beams but no change for low,on,either side. My next idea is the switch but I am not sure how to test it.
View 5 RepliesMy passenger low beam headlights went out. I replaced the burnt out bulb but it still won't work.
View 2 RepliesThe low beam headlights on my 2007 Pontiac Torrent have been working intermittently for several months. Sometimes they will automatically turn on like they are supposed to, other times they will not and I will try to manually turn them on- sometimes it works, other times I have to use the high beams. I had the lever replaced, but it did not fix the problem. My boyfriend tried to track down the problem and removed the fuse panel completely from the car, didn't see anything that stood out, so he put the right back. After he put it back, the car would not start.
The radio works, the interior lights work, but when you try to turn it over nothing happens. At all. I towed it to the mechanic a week ago on Monday and they said that it smelled like burnt electrical under the hood, but could not pinpoint the problem. They have now had my car for a week and the latest update they have given me was the car will not communicate with their testing equipment, so they think it is the computer, but they are not sure. They said that they are trying to find a replacement computer.
Does this sound like a computer problem? And if so, should it have taken them an entire week to try to diagnose? I am trying to be patient, but it feels like a week is a long time to have a car in the shop and I am still without a definite diagnosis or any estimation on how much it is going to cost to fix my car. Should I try to take it somewhere else?
Just discovered that both high beams are not working. Regular lights ok. When switch to high beam both go off. I know some bulbs have two filaments, is this the case for this car? Are the bulbs burnt out or something else is wrong?
This is a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited.
I have a 2007 Ford Escape with a passenger side low beam that won't turn on when the headlights are turned on. I have replaced both low beam lights and checked all the fuses. Fuses are ok,none are burned out. My high beams work perfectly as well as my fog lamps. I need any and all advice and information , including any simple wiring diagrams that could be of use . Is it possible that the multi function switch for the turn lights and headlights is the problem?.
View 10 RepliesNoticed my passenger side HID low beam went out about a week ago... 2008 ls460, out of warranty
1 - changed HID bulb, still out
2 - checked applicable fuses in fuse box in engine compartment, all seems fine
3 - changed to new ballast, still nothing
All the other lights in the headlight are operating fine, only the low beam is still out. Somehow the ballast is not receiving power.
What is happening is my driver's side low beam light goes out while driving. I usually can notice a little flickering of my headlights prior to this happening and then all of a sudden the left bulb goes out. I then shut off my headlights for a second and turn them back on - and they tend to stay on for the remainder of my journey. This now happens every time I use them. It goes out, I shut them off, turn them back on...then the problem tends to be gone for the rest of my trip...unless I shut the car off, then it will happen again (once per drive cycle it seems).
I imagine it's not a bulb because those either work, or they're burned out. I would think perhaps it's a loose connection, but it happens only once per drive cycle and it happens every single time. Loose connections aren't as predictable as that.
I'm not really sure what the headlight systems of these cars include...weather it be resisters, modules, motors, etc. I realize the headlights turn when the steering wheel does, so there is a motor involved. I know when I bought my car the driver's side headlight assembly was replaced, but it didn't give me any troubles for the first year I've owned it. It is very cold where I am right now, with temperatures in the often falling into the single digits.
This morning a dash light informed me a headlight bulb was out. It was my DTR light on the passenger side.
I purchased Sylvania H7 high intensity, installed it and it failed to work properly. Daytime light on only drivers side works.
High Beam on , both lights works.
I checked my manual and it said to check fuse in the 5 slot on the driver side dash/door panel and there actually is no fuse in there. I checked the driver side and there was no fuse there either.
I replaced my driver side bulb last year and it took 5 mins....i am already 4 hours into this!
Looking for instructions on how to replace the LS460's low beam HID bulb ?? its quite crowded around the headlight ...
View 3 RepliesAnd probably the worst headlights ive had for intensity out of all cars Ive owned. I took it to the dealer complaining of how dim they are. They adjusted the aim angle up and made them actually worse. Now my high beams just shoot up into the sky
I asked about disabling the "extended Bulb life" setting and they claim not to know anything about it. I am looking at getting aftermarket HIDs and correct angle adjustment to resolve this issue. I just cant believe how bad the OEM headlights are. These headlamps pass NHTSA regulations.?
Other then the Headlamp Complaint, A great family car sofar!
I bought my 2010 Passat 2.0T wagon a couple of months ago. Didn't drive it at dark time so much time, but what I noticed, it looks like headlights don't have asymmetrical beam there.
View 6 RepliesI own a 2001 Accent 1.6L. The other day both low beam headlights went out. The brights work and so do the parking lights when turned on. I changed the bulbs and still the low beams don't work but the highs and parking lamps do. I looked on the hood for a relay but could find one in the fuse box. I checked the fuses and they appear okay. What could cause the problem? I'm hoping it is not the stalk. Still a relay or switch under the dash?
View 7 RepliesI bought some new bulbs for the headlights and tried to install them today. I couldn't get the bulb to come out. The manual doesn't really show how to get it out. I know how to take the wire out and that;s about it. How to take the headlight out.
View 1 RepliesThe low beams on my 2010 Sonata seem dim compared to my other vehicles. I do not want to install HID lamps but would like a recommendation for a brighter lamp.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius 4. All of a sudden, the head lights went very dim. We have replaced the bulbs and that did not work. I can only drive at night with brights on (not very popular). Any quick fixes, before i take it to the dealership?
View 6 RepliesChanged Alternator on my 07 Camry SE V6. Now both low beam headlights dont work. I changed bulbs, and fuses. Still nothing what could the problem be??
View 1 RepliesAll of a sudden my low beam headlights will not come on; (but the high beams come on using the turn signal switch / high beams position).
I read the Owner's Handbook and there is no Fuse, but it says there is a circuit breaker built-in the headlights switch itself, but that if I wait enough, the breaker will reset itself sooner or later.
It happened for the last two nights and all of a sudden they are working again, but I think I should replace the breaker?? Or should I replace the complete switch?
