LeSabre :: 1987 Occasionally Won't Start Without Battery Disconnect / Reconnect

I have a 1987 LeSabre that will not start sometimes and if I disconnect the battery and let it sit about five minutes and reconnect, it starts right back up. Then it seems to be fine for a few days, then won't start again. When it is trying not to start, it cranks, but when you let go of the key it dies again Unless the gas is continuously pushed down.
If you keep trying to start it without adding any gas, it seems like it cranks less and less each attempt? There don't seem to be any other problems with this car at all and no real warning that this is going to happen. I can't even think of things that have been the same each time it happened. It has happened when car was warm, happened when cold. I guess it has happened after letting the car get below 1/4 tank and then refilling (sometime within a day of a fresh tank it does this, maybe?)

So I bought this 1997 Saturn SW2 that had its engine replaced. I think they wired it wrong when they did it. They only way to start it is to disconnect the battery then reconnect it. If you don't and just shut it off with the key and wait a minute, when you turn the key to the on position, the instrument panel will not come back on without disconnecting the battery. However, if you start the car and then shut it off, then turn the key right back on (less than a minute) you can start the car without disconnecting the battery. It's like something needs to be reset once you shut the car off and leave it off for a while.

I have a mk4 golf gti vr6. For about the past month every few days when I shut off my car and then try to start it next time I get a very fast clicks. After I disconnect and reconnect the battery it starts up just fine. Yesterday after getting off the highway it shutoff when I came to a stop. Took the key out and before I disconnected the battery it started back up with a turn of the key. I'm guessing it's some kind of ECU issue because it starts up after I reconnect the battery?

I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee and randomly it decides not to start unless I disconnect then reconnect the battery. At first when I try to start it every accessory will be off but the A/C recirculation light is on for some reason. When I turn the key all the gauges move sporadically but the engine will not turn over at all, which you can see in the attached video. I disconnect and reconnect the battery and everything works perfectly fine. The only other issue has been that sometimes when I unlock the car (I no longer have keyless entry) the alarm will go off until I start the engine. I have not had both problems at the same time.

I have a jetta that sat inside for 3 months. and when i went to start it it ran great but when i went to restart after shutting it off it wouldn't restart until I disconnected the battery for a few min and reconnected it , and that is when the check eng light came on the car runs great but having to disconnect the battery each time so I also took it to get the codes read and this is what i got po725, p1780, p1850, po605, po113, po102. I find these codes to be well to say it is a little unbelievable as the car runs fine and i had no trouble before i parked it for 3months. The car only has 58,000 miles on it ?

I want to disconnect the battery, clean the terminals and ground etc and reconnect. I don't have the factory radio so no code needed. Is there any other settings that will be lost? Do I need to recode the remotes?

I recently purchase an 07 prius and now the AC only works If I disconnect the small battery at the back and reconnect. It worked fine when I first got It, but after dealing with no AC I decided to try disconnecting the battery and It works. The problem Is when I stop at a light a red triangle shows up on the dash board and If I turn off the car I would have to disconnect and reconnect the battery In order for It to work.

I have an android phone (Motorola Atrix 4G), and it bluetooth syncs fine with my Prius C One, however when I am driving on the freeway, it will occasionally disconnect for several minutes, then reconnect. It's annoying because I use my phone as my personal Ipod and I can't stand listening to the radio, and without fail, every-time I drive in heavy traffic, it will disconnect and I'll have silence for a few minutes till it reconnects. I can't upgrade my phone till February and I plan to get an Iphone, but for the time being I guess I'll have to use an Auxiliary cable instead of bluetooth.

I am getting no pressure at the fuel rail. Relay seems to be ok, so I am assuming the pump just failed (in the driveway luckily). Before I drop the fuel tank, I would like to confirm I am getting voltage back to the pump. I cannot fine any wiring in or under the car going to that area! How to find that circuit as close to the pump as possible and still accessible without dropping the tank?

My 87 lesabre has run great for many years, but lately, it has been quitting on me. It happens randomly, usually while driving slower or idling. It just suddenly quits almost as if it's out of gas. It usually starts right back up, sometimes have to wait 20-30 seconds. It runs fine, not sluggish or anything, up until it quits. Had a couple mechanics look at it, when I told one about it he thought for sure it was going to be the fuel injectors but they all checked out fine.

This 2005 LeSabre with a 3.8 v-6 ran fine but had a marginal battery. Then the key got left on overnight leaving the battery totally dead. After jumping the battery and letting it charge, the engine cranked fine but refused to start. Haven't had a chance to check for fuel or spark. Why would a dead battery trigger this no start condition?

My wife's 98 LeSabre will occasionally cut out or stall. It usually happens at low speeds and she thinks it may be more frequently on a right hand turn. The engine can always be restarted immediately. There is no other symptom, no check engine light on when running. The car runs well and has ~125000 miles. Sounds like an intermittent connection or short but where?

How I'd disconnect the battery power? I don't have the owner's manual handy. I'm attempting to reset all systems to clear a 'steering defect workshop' warning. I've removed the cover and think I see the battery (there's a black bar over it that I can't remove by hand).

Just picked the Explorer up from the shop getting a new radiator. This question has nothing to do with the radiator, but the fact that the mechanic was not gentle on the drivers door like I've learned to be. Now, the door wont latch. It will close and lock, but still reads DOOR AJAR. The thing is, there is no way to keep the interior light from staying on...except to disconnect the battery. Until I can get this fixed, can I remove the bulbs from my interior lights, or will the battery still run power to them even without a bulb? Trying not to disconnect the battery everytime I park.

I recently bought an 87 Toyota corolla fx 16 as I totaled out my other car hitting a deer when I test drove this car I had no issues on this car it had high miles at 197k but it seemed to purr like a kitten it wasn't until I started to drive it back and forth to work that I noticed the issue when the car is cold it runs and idles fine a little bit of shift hesitation but figured that might be a dirty transmission filter as the fluid appeared discolored however when the car warms up it shifts fine and begins to cut out and the Rpms dip under 1k every 20-30 seconds.
It becomes worse when the car is in gear driving down the road it randomly cuts out and seems to lose power while occasionally backfiring and if I come to a stop and leave it in gear it will die if I don't feather the throttle just right on takeoff or press it to the floor when I press it to the floor it's slow on take off and sounds like a mix of backfiring and missing and then suddenly takes off like a bat out of hell once I hit about 20 mph. When it dies the check engine light comes on but as soon as I start it it goes back off. I've already changed a bunch of the routine stuff since the car sat for a year such as fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires, coil, rotor, valve cover gaskets, and replaced nearly all the vacuum lines trying to figure it out thinking its something simple.

My 2007 lexus es 350 engine will not shut off after I push the off button.
The everything goes off except the engine and the dash lights. I have to disconnect the battery to shut off the engine. The car does not have a remote start. could it be a relay and if so which one.
Last night I left the car battery disconnected and then this morning reattached and everything seemed fine. I started the car and let it fun for a couple minutes and then pushed the button and the car shut off. Then about 2o minutes later the alarm went off. The remote would not respond so I started the car and the alarm went off. Then I pushed the button to turn it off and the same problem occurred.

I got the plugs for my '06. I hope to put them in in a day or 2. My question is: is it necessary to disconnect the 12v battery to do this? I've changed plugs in other cars without doing so.

I narrowed my battery drain to the box on top of the battery. When I disconnect all three fuses and the 4th wire from inside the box my draw goes to 0 but when I connect any of those 4 it will go back up. Connecting all of them will not increase the draw any more but it seems all of them are connected in some way?

Have 155,000 miles on my 2000 Echo, just replaced O2 sensors (probably needlessly, I see now) before I found a loose hose at air filter area, which when I connected it, caused the CE light to finally go out (P0171 code originally)...already cleaned old, then ordered a new, MAF before I found the loose hose, so think I'll go ahead and install the new MAF anyway...do I need to disconnect the battery to install it? Afraid the darned CE light will come back on, but guess I can again drive it awhile and hope it will go out when the computer stuff resets itself.

I have been suffering from LH battery drain for some time now. sometimes its random I will park it for 10 min. come back and the battery is drained (I have to use the key to gain entry). sometimes it only happens over night, where other times the battery doesn't go dead overnight. so last weekend I decided to change the brakes...That was easy but then I forgot to hook up my battery maintainer...so you know what happened! now the problem is I charged the battery and hooked it back up. No start! everything works fine the battery is fully charged and only 1 year old.
But this is the weird part if I disconnect the starter battery the car starts up fine. I hook both batteries back up and try the parallel start way (turn to start then full counter clockwise then full clockwise several times no luck). the LH battery is drained now after a few start and stops (no driving) and the starter battery is fully charged. but with both batteries hooked up it wont even attempt to start and now I also have no power to the power trunk!!! this car is starting to suck balls.

All stock 460 in a 1987 1-ton 4x4. The carb has lost it's cookies I think. It (all of the sudden) developed this massive flat spot right after I shift gears and open the throttle. It falls on its face, then catches and slams the whole damn truck.
Also pop-pop-pops really badly when I downshift and occasionally backfires when I shut it off. I'm (barely) smart enough to know that it's getting excess fuel dumped through the engine. I just pulled out both float adjusters, cleaned them, and reset float levels and it made no difference whatsoever.
It's my only vehicle and it's barely drivable.
