02 LSV8. 174k miles. Today it threw a Fuel Data Computer Error on the computer readout and the fuel gauge parked at E as if the engine was off. I am sure I have over 1/2 tank of gas.
View 14 Replies2005 V-10... I've found some info on the "fuel level data error" but thought there must be more on this. In the last month or so I get the error on the message center and the fuel gauge goes to E. Happened a couple times here and there and then the CEL has come on. Have nto been able to get the CEL to go out because it happens too often now.
Have tried a couple bottles of Techron because that is suppose to fix it but no luck after about 150 miles. Can't find any loose wires/connectors. Am ready to give up and drop the tank. Is the sensor separate or part of the pump assy? Also don't see alot on dropping the tank on SDs. Any tips?
My new '07 Camry with 5K miles on it, driving along, minding my own business. The navigation was on as it always is, but not in guidance mode. All of a sudden I notice the screen turn dark and I see this error: "MAP DVD - Unable to read data. Check if map DVD is correct." (see image)
I have never removed the DVD from the drive. It is clean as a whistle. I wasn't on a bumpy road. I tried resetting and cleaning it, but no good.
I have an '06 F350 dually with a 6.0 diesel. I bought this used about 5 years ago and for the most part have loved it. i would always smile on the inside when i heard people bash the 6.0...i thought i got lucky....until today.
140k miles. recent oil change. all is swell...until this morning. Stick in key and turn it. glow plug indicator comes on...all lights come on for a few second....wrench, abs, dtc etc....wrench shuts off...glow plug light comes on...4 or 5 seconds later wrench light comes back on....turn key and NO CRANK.
All fuses are fine...starter cranks if i jump the solenoid...but it won't start. Miles to empty and everything else is just dashes hit the OBD and it says "engine sensor data error"/ "trans temp error" ...
I took the car to be inspected today (for extended warranty purposes) and asked for the mechanic to run the car through their code reader and print out all error codes. They did and this is the error code it gave for TPMS (FYI- They couldn't reset the error display either, and I've done the 'learning' procedure several times as suggested in these forums, but it doesn't work and the display eventually shows Tire Monitoring Pressure Fault) NONE of the tires show in the TPMS screen. I have no flats, nails, and all the pressures are up to level.

So what I am wondering is whether the Module has gone bad or perhaps the sensors? What the above means?
2007 Suzuki XL7 luxury 6 cyl 3.6l - Error code reads p0122 and the computer in the dash reads Engine Hot- A/C off. It turned over earlier but Car wont start now. Battery is new, all fluid levels, fuses ok. So... looking for
1) PART NUMBER to search for to replace the TPS? or
2) SIMPLE STEP BY STEP instruction on how to ADJUST it?
When I fuel my car the the trip data information resets to zero, keeping track of when I last fueled my car, as it should. The problem is that if often resets back to zero even though I have not fueled my car.

View 4 RepliesSo got this P0A93 code when I was driving on the highway about 65mph, scared to me death when big yellow warning light came on so I returned home and turn the car back on after 30 mins the code and all the warning lights were gone I checked under the hood felt the pump everything was good. I just got done 90k maintance on the car from dealer. So my question is that could be computer error or it could be water pump malfunction? On warranty manual the warranty for inverter with converter covers under 100k so dealer should be able to cover the water pump if it's broken? I driven the car today again at normal temperature and full blast AC on, then again no engine check light on and warning light no message.
View 4 RepliesI have a 1993 Cadillac Deville and the Fuel Data panel will not display except once in a while it will for a minute then it'll go blank again. The Electronic Climate Control panel displays and works just fine. I have no trouble with the a/c or heat at all.
View 1 RepliesI posted recently because my '05 Touareg had been in twice for a "coolant overheating" error when the car was driven less than three minutes after a long cold start. They replaced the main computer and I had it back for a week and everything was fine. This morning, the same error occured. We took it in. When my husband drove it to the dealer, the warning went away after several minutes. They said that the error never logged on the computer and there's nothing wrong.
One person had responded last time with the sensor issue but got it resolved. I am really concerned about the possible problem that they can't seem to fix. They seem to be ok with it.
I've recently purchased a 2007 Prius and have been tracking my gas mileage. I've been comparing what the computer says and what I get by dividing the miles since last fill w/ the number of gallons to fill. I always reset the computer and have always let the tank get almost empty (flashing fuel gauge). I consistantly calculate 2-4 MPG LESS than the computer reports. I talked with a friend who has a (I think) 2006 Prius and he does the same but his calculations and the computer usually within a few tenths of a MPG. I took my car into the dealer today for the accelerator pedal recall and asked them to look at the MPG. They could find nothing wrong and said that was "normal" I'm not convinced... What do the rest of you see?
View 14 RepliesI've recently had the chance to buy some 'real gas' on a few fill-ups, Canadian gas without ethanol. The graphic shows that I'm getting about 50 mpg on regular E10, but about 58 mpg on the no-ethanol gas. Since E0 has only about 4% less energy than regular E10, getting 15% better mileage doesn't make sense purely from thermodynamics.
Does the Prius computer might be programmed for E0, and therefore possibly doesn't do as well on E10? And if so, can we re-program the computer?
For each number the computer says is there an exact match to what it means for computed. For example if the computer says 50mpg does that always calculate to x number calculated????
View 10 RepliesAs part of my 60 mile commute everyday to work and back, I would stop by a gas station in a town on my way home that has 30 cent cheaper gas than where I live. The first time I fueled the car there was no problem. Then today even though my gas was at 3/4 full and I stopped anyways to put in 5 dollars.
What happened next was strange, before I stopped to fuel my range was at 448 miles, with the needle exactly on the 3/4 mark, then I put in 5 bucks the needle did not move at all and my range was still at 448 even after I started driving back on the highway again hoping maybe it would reset. The needle then slowly went up but then the range didn't go any higher and was still decreasing as I kept on driving.
The thing different today was I accidentally put in Unleaded PLUS so it mixed with the 3/4 tank of just regular Unleaded gas..but as far as I know that shouldn't affect anything..right?
My 2003 Passat 1.8t starts up but turns off 1-2 secs later. And if it is the fuel pump, where is it on my car?
View 4 RepliesThe computer apparently calculates the fuel economy per trip (or a series of trips if the car is stopped less than 2 hours) but I don't know how to get it to display the fuel economy for the tank full. Normally I'd reset the computer upon refilling but since it calculates per trip it doesn't calculate per tank. Fortunately the fuel gauge seems to be pretty accurate and each mark is approx 1 gal so I can do a quick approximation but I'm used to having the car do the tankful calculation. BTW, I reset on MFA 1, I've never reset on MFA 2 and that doesn't show tankful economy either.
View 3 RepliesI bought a 2013 XLT 4X4 wiht 5.0 V8 about 3 months ago. I reset the computer when I first bought it and it shows an average of 15.7 MPG. I have also kept records of all fuel purchased and my actual mileage is 15.2 MPG.

I had to reset to clear a check engine light on Tuesday and when I went to get an emissions test on Friday it failed because it could not get a reading from the evap or cat sensors. He said I would have to drive it a while for those to have readings but how long.
View 1 RepliesI was having problems with my 02 Escape of misfire on cylinders. After doing a lot of checking, changing spark plugs, changing coils, ect, I decided that it could be the computer. So, I ordered one and put it in. When I turned on the key, all the gauges pegged and then came back to zero, but it acted like someone cut the power line to the starter. No click, no nothing. I checked fuses and they are fine. Even changed them around to make sure. Is there something that I have to do when you change the computer to get it to start? Had no problems with the starter prior, so it has to be something associated with the computer and changing it.
View 3 RepliesI just bought a used 2004 F-350, 4x4, crew cab, short bed, 6.0L diesel. I'm having a WTF moment on fuel. Gage indicates just under 1/4 of a tank of diesel but the on-board computer is flashing like crazy stating 5 miles to empty, what the hell is that all about?
