We have a 2010 Kia Sedona. My wife and daughter say that when they plug their iPods into the van, the iPods will only play the same two or three songs. This has been going on for many months. I don't have an iPod myself, and know nothing about them.

my '12 kia optima has this option and I love it: I hardly listen to the radio any longer and it certainly beats having to shuffle around CDs every few days. I guess I could try using an FM transmitter that has a built-in USB slot.
I literally just picked up my 2013 GS 350 at the auction.
Right when I drove off with it, I plugged in my Iphone 5 and selected the ipod menu, and it loaded up all the music on my iphone. After some fiddling I got the bluetooth to work nice as well.
Then later in the day I plugged my Iphone in after work, and noticed that when I selected the "Ipod" on the audio menu, the screen where the songs are supposed to populate doesn't load up the songs. The screen is just blank, as if there was no ipod connected.
Occasionally, when I play songs, I hear my speakers kind of buzzing, where they sound like they are going bad.
Its super annoying, but I can't think how to replicate it. Any way to show them or what should I do?
My warranty would cover this, right?
Also, if I have installed footwell LEDs, might they argue about that effecting my warranty or anything?
I found a few threads on this forum talking about skipping problems with ipods. Has there been a fix for this yet? I have a 2012 Prius Three and an ipod classic 80 gb from 2006. I'm not able to use voice commands because it says that the ipod is still syncing. If I play a song it will pause for 1-2 seconds randomly during the song, maybe 1-3 times per song. It's extremely annoying. It doesn't matter if I'm driving slow, fast or parked.
View 5 Replies I have a recently bought 2013 Prius C3 (less than 4,000 miles) and for some reason the car won't play my boyfriend's iPod touch. The battery charges when I connect it so I know that it's "connected", but I have no explanation why music won't play.
The car has no problem playing music from my iPhone 5 when I have it connected via the cable.
Any way to play videos from an iPod connected via cable or from an iPhone connected via Bluetooth? The owners manual mentions that it will play the audio from a video that is on an iPod.

I'm wondering if I would have to bypass the USB port and buy a cigarette lighter charger or can I just use the Apple USB cable at all times.
So I have had my Platinum for a year now and really love it but there are two things that drive me nuts. First is the range of the romote start, which is the factory installed version. There is no range you pretty much have to right next to the truck for it to work so what is the point? Any way to increase the range?
Second is the audio system, I have the in-dash NAV/Sync system. I use my iPod pretty much all the time. I have it hooked up via USB. Now sometimes when I am listeng to it while driving the turn off the truck do something get back in and stert the truck the iPod does not play, I have to go to the NAV screen and push the USB icon and then it will start to play, other time I just start the truck and it play automatically. I have my system to play automatically but that is not always the case.
Can use the iPod Interface Kit for my 2005 Avalon? It states "Either iPod or Sat Radio can be installed, not both". I do have the JBL Audio system but don't have the Satellite radio. It also mentions it works with the 2007 Avalon, aren't they pretty much the same, 2005-2007? URL...
View 11 RepliesI got one of those iPod cables off eBay and hooked it up to my iPod nano today. It played music immediately, but I was not able to control the iPod through the dash or the steering wheel. Then I noticed that the eBay ad instructs you to connect the cable to the car first, turn the car on, then connect the iPod. I didn't do that the first time. An hour later, I tried it the right way. Same result. I just want to be able to control the iPod using the car stereo controls without having to handle the iPod itself.
View 4 RepliesI have been a long time Lexus owner (ES and 3 RXs), but I am new to the GX. I just got a 2014 GX-40 w/ Premium Package.
The GX has a lot of the same features my previous RXs had, but of course has some improvements (smoother ride, quieter, better stereo sound, real 4WD).
1) The RX had a console that had the USB connection in it. I found it very handy to just leave my iPod plugged in there. I just had to switch the Source in the radio whenever wanted to listen to it. Since it was in the console, it was out of sight from thieves. On the GX, my iPod won't fit in the small area where the USB ports are. I don't know if an iPod touch would even fit, and they have much less music storage anyway.
2) The GX obviously weighs more than the RX, and it has a V8 engine. Some portions of the power band in the GX seem to be peppier, but overall, the GX feels a little more sluggish. Sometimes I manually downshift the transmission to pass a vehicle, etc. Are there any other alternatives?
iOS 8.4. When I turn on my car it will not detect my iPod. The only way to get it to detect it is to shut the car off and turn it back on. Also it no longer will resume to where my iPod left off when shutting down the car. Having problems with iOS 8.4?
View 2 RepliesI have an RCD-510 (touchscreen with no Nav) in my 2010 wagon. I have the AUX in the center counsel but want to add the iPhone adapter in the glove box. I'm having issues with VW by me. They cannot figure out what I need. They took it apart once and said there was no hook for the iPod cable. Also, I talked with VW headquarters and they said they wouldn't recommend trying to do it as I'd need new wire harnessing and a new "panel.". I was very confused by the panel comment. What is the part number I would need them to order?

Ive got an iphone 3g and a Prius with the Sat Nav, i saw a clip on you tube about a year ago with some guy playing music from his iphone via Bluetooth. Ive tried to do this and it doesn't, the phone is BT synced with the car for the handsfree phone but in the audio tab one called "BT" is grayed out im assuming thats the one i need its next to the "Aux" tab. I don't know if they guy was using some third party software or something
View 6 RepliesFrom the past few weeks I have observed that when I try to play any Audio or MP3 CD in my RX 350, only the first song plays and then nothing. change discs, again, only the first song plays and then it dies i.e. no sound. Even when I try to change the tracks nothing plays. If something to be taken to dealer, does the Platinum Extended Warranty (bought by Jerry) cover it?
View 2 RepliesI've got a 2010 GTI with the stock stereo. When I am using my iPhone via my iPod dock, the sound quality is good until I turn the volume up a bit (loud, but not blasting). Often it's a song that's a little bassier (hence why I'm turning it up), and it seems like after a second or two I can hear the bass levels dropping, almost like it's tuning it down. It also seems like if I mute for a second or two, and then unmute, the bass is back for a few seconds before it ramps down again. The volume levels don't seem like they'd be damaging the speakers, but is this something that it's doing to protect the speakers? Or am I just losing it?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2010 RX350 and put a lot of MP3 songs on USB stick to play. Recently I have downloaded a lot of songs from Amazon in MP3 format and finding that some of the songs just don't play. I see the name of the song on the display and then it just passes over it and doesn't play.
I don't have Navigation on this vehicle. I can take the same USB stick and put it in another car (newer) and it all the songs play fine. Why some MP3 files play and some don't?
I am having trouble doing something that should be simple, playing music from flash drive. It reads the USB but says there are no supported audio files on the USB. I have reformatted to make sure it is fat32 format. My ipad works with my music files, why won't the USB read my music. It is the same music on the ipad.
View 5 RepliesI want to install an external display ipod adapter (Kenwood KOS-A300) in my 2010 Prius IV, but in reading the manual I see that the power wiring for this device requires 3 connections - Ground, Ignition, and Battery (it also has a dimmer control wire, but I am hoping that one can be left disconnected).
I haven't come across an accessory like this before - usually they just need 12v and ground and in these cases I just tap into the wiring for a 12v accessory power outlet to get these connections. My recollection in this car is that the accessory power outlets are switched (either with ignition "on" or accessory "on"), and they turn off when the car is shut down.
Is there a convenient location inside the vehicle where I can connect a wire that is always hot with 12 volts?
