Kia - Sedona :: 2007 - Washer Pump Stays On
Oct 31, 2014
Purchased a 2007 Kia Sedona EX today for my daughter. Once it got home from the dealership we got washed out! When my daughter started the car the wiper fluid hit the windshield until it was empty and then the pump continued to run. Each time I turned off the ignition and started the van and turned on the wipers (rainy Seattle evening) I could hear the pump continue to run. Finally, I pulled the fuse so the pump would not burn up. This van is in excellent condition with only 48K miles. Am I in for electrical problems with this van or is this a fluke?

I have a 2004 Kia Sedona. The clock on the overhead console and the wiper fluid pump are both working only intermittently and they alternate working. In other words, when one works the other does not. My mechanic has checked it and has not found anything obvious.

I just bought a 1995 S10 4x4 for my son and the windshield washer pump is not working. It doesn't make a sound and I have measured that no voltage is going to the hot side of the harness going to the pump. The ground tested fine. It was also having wipers issues where they stopped at random places when turned off and the timing was screwy. I removed and resoldered the wiper pulse board and cleaned up the contacts. Wipers are good, but still no squirter.

A friend of mine almost crashed his 2014 Santa Fe during a snow storm, his washer fluid pump stopped working and he could not see in front of him on a bridge, he could not stop on a bridge. He has been scared to death. The dealer found out that the pump was completely rusted inside and out. It should be made of stainless. not steel. The dealer told him he was not the first to report this problem.

Where to find the headlight washer pump fuse. My owners manual does not list it for some strange reason.
The washer heads both extend OK using the service button, but when I pull the washer stalk only one (RHS) pops out and no fluid comes out, so I am guessing the washer pump has stopped working.

20+ year old Corolla. There's a leak that appears to be at the point where the windshield washer pump attaches to the plastic bottle. I've had a leak in that area before, where the hose attaches to the pump, but that was just a crack in the hose. This one appears to be where the pump attaches to the plastic bottle. The pump is on the outside of the bottle, not inside. Is the pump held there by friction, like with an o-ring?

I know I need to remove the reservoir to replace the pump but I can't get it out. I removed the storage compartment, then the bolt connecting the translucent top portion of the reservoir that connects to the front and the side bolt that connects the reservoir to the side of the truck. It is loose but I still cannot get the reservoir out.

My wife's van just had an issue. Of course this happens when I am about to go in a business trip. Let me start by saying that we have never had a problem with this van. It now has around 75,000 miles on it, and was last driven yesterday. We went to start it up this morning, and it was very difficult to get running. If you wanted to stall, (had to keep my foot on the gas and I could tell the motor was missing), but I'm more concerned with the metallic top end tapping the motor was making. It sounded like a bad valve tap so I turned the motor off , checked the oil level to make sure I did not leak the oil out (last checked three days ago when I got gas). The level was fine, so I started the motor again.. ran the same but this time cleared up and ran fine with in 10 seconds. The noise went away and it ran smooth as silk again. Turned it on and off a few times and it was fine each time. My wife is driving it now and says it feels fine. The motor it self is still under warranty but not the ignition or fuel parts.

Got a problem with my wifes 2016 Elantra... The washer fluid pump stopped working.
The wipers work, and their is no blockage in the fluid lines from the tank to the nozzles. I used my compressor to blow out the lines in both directions. I've done some research, and someone said if the wipers work its not a fuse issue.
I saw a video on you tube for an older Elantra, that showed the pump behind the headlight... Does that hold true for the 2016? And if so, how do I get the headlight assembly out?

While I was at the shop getting the steering fixed I asked about the inop washer pump. They told me the pump failed.
Anyway 30 minutes later I have replaced it but still does not work.
So what next?
Which fuses do I check (I already checked them but give me specific numbers)
Where are the relay and how do I check them?
How do I test the pump?

If I push button for windshield washer the wipers come on but no fluid sprays on windshield. Same with rear....wiper comes on but no spray.
Jumped washer pump directly from battery and pump comes on and water squirted on windshield.
Had kids push washer button while I held volt meter on washer pump power and ground wires.....Nothing 0.0 volts at pump, but wipers came on.
All fuses are new, is there a relay? I did swap them around with no change.

I only drive my 2007 Kia Sedona about once a week. (No,I'm not a little old lady, but I do have cats). Anyway, I keep having to replace my battery. Kia tells me the computer is draining the battery and I need to run the car at least 30 minutes a week. Sounds fishy to me. But if that's true, is there a way to keep it charged? I've considered a trickle charger, but I'm disabled and am concerned about being able to disconnect and connect it.

On our '06 Avalon Limited, my wife had parked the car was parked in the driveway and about 30 min later I walked by and heard that the wiper fluid pump motor was running non-stop. The only way I could get it to shut off was to loosen the fender liner and reach in and un-plug it. I'm thinking relay, but would it be that, the switch, the motor itself, where should I start and how can I tell or diagnose short of replacing them?

I own an Elantra GLS 2012, and starting a week ago, I noticed my windshield washer was coming out through the nozzles with low pressure (1/2 of the windshield). Yesterday one stopped working and the left nozzle is "spitting" (1/3 of the windshield).
I thought they are clogged and today I tried to unclog them using computer air cleaner, but air was coming out through the left nozzle with pressure and nothing through the right nozzle. When I tried to wash my windshield, no pressure on my right nozzle and low pressure on my left nozzle. Same as before.
I plugged off the tube from the hose connector under the hood, and if I pull back the control bar, I have a stream of washer liquid over 3m (10ft) long, but if I put my finger on the hose, I don't have pressure on the windshield washer.
My question is: the nozzles are clogged or the pump is dead?
I know the clogged nozzles are not under warranty, but what about the pump?

I have a 2006 Solara and overnight the windshield washer pump stopped working. I thought the problem was no washer fluid, filled it, and nothing. I checked the hose near the hood and nothing came out. The motor isn't humming like it is trying to pump, so I checked the fuse (I think I checked the right one, not sure, it was a 15a) and it appeared to be good. I checked the wires going to the pump with a multimeter and didn't get power, so is there any other "secret" fuse I am missing. I know on an older car I had, the fuses were sometimes mixed with other items and not labeled.

Okay, So my rear washer is not pushing out the nozzle. Pump works, line from res checks okay, nothing frozen at this point. What route the line goes through the body, or what the diag steps are or the process to service it?

Looking for info from Bentley manual which relay is for the blower motor, washer fluid pump and 12v outlets? They all went out on my brother's Passat. I'm thinking it must be the relay as we have tested each fuse and they all test fine.

I am a new owner of a 2006 F 250 6.0.
I need to install a new washer fluid pump. My question is what is the best way to get the old one off and the new one on? Should I go from under the wheel well? Or is there another easier way to get to it? The truck didn't come with an owners Manuel and I cant find anything about how to do this.
