I have noticed an uneven feel ( slightly ) when I turn hard left vs right. Its firmer when I turn to the left than the right. From the magazine issues I used to read when I look at directional skid pad results the right turn skid pad results are always lower than the left turn because of the weight of the driver.

View 10 RepliesI'm getting a scraping sound on hard left turns. I've only noticed it on a steep hill where I work going under five mph and making a sharp left turn. I got out today and it doesn't look like the tire is hitting anything. The shield in front of the tire is slightly looser than the right side, but can't see it making the noise unless something is hitting it. I've read some previous posts that indicated traction control possibly coming on. I have about 4,000 miles, 20 inch tires, and everything stock.

View 2 RepliesSo, I picked up my new car today, a 2012 obsidian ISF with 53,000. I'm driving it back from Texas to Georgia in the morning but after driving it for the first 100 miles I notice a pull to the left under hard acceleration and to the right when I let off. I've never driven an F before and I'm coming out of an IS350. I haven't had a chance to check tire pressures yet but I notice the right rear tire is a Dunlop and all other 3 are Bridgestones. Could this be the cause?
View 12 RepliesHave just leased 2008 pasat 2.0l turbo. Great engine but suspension has loud rumbles /noise on uneven pavement. Have lowered tire pressure to 30 . suspension noise still persists. only have 1500 miles. dealer says that everything is still to factory spec.
View 5 RepliesI have this truck (in signature below) that I have not driven for ~3 years. As I am starting to drive it I am noticing I need to put A LOT of pressure on my brake pedal to get the brakes to work. They stop the truck and the pedal doesn't feel soft as if there is air in the line but it feels as if I apply a lot of pressure and there isn't a lot of grab.
While it might be possible, I don't think I have any type of glaze or coating on my brakes that would cause this. 95% of those 3 years, the truck was inside.
I wonder if it feels as if the truck is hard to stop because of the additional power I have coming from this new motor?
Is there any type of part I can replace in the brake booster to adjust the pedal? Or brake booster. Maybe that is going bad?
My friend was looking at my tires earlier today and noticed that my brake pads were wearing at an angle. He was also shocked to learn that these pads have only 6,000 miles on them. We looked at the old front brake pads my mechanic replaced and they are not showing any wear like the current pads.

He also noticed some odd wear on the rotor - evidenced by the vertical lines across it's radius. He thinks it may be related to the problem with the pad. He also recommended a different mechanic... Is this wear considered normal? We looked online and some people reported similar wear, but nothing we found was as extreme as this.
I've got an '06 F150 and the steering isn't right with it. It has had a heavy feel and is almost like the power assist is only working half as good as it should. It's been like this for a couple months. I 've had all four ball joints and the steering rack replaced in the last month. It had the heavy steering feel before and after everything was replaced. It also doesn't recover itself on sharp turns, I have to turn the wheel back as I complete the turn. Could it be the power steering pump? I thought it was a mechanical device and it either worked or it didn't, maybe they get weak?
View 14 RepliesLast week during some more aggressive driving i got a noise out of the front suspension area and immediately noticed the car had a much looser steering feel, I garaged the car for the week until i could take it into Lexus this weekend. However lexus couldn't find anything wrong with it, they found no codes in the steering system and no worn-out/broken parts in need of replacing yet it still has this vague steering feel to it even after I replaced the tires (245 front 275 rear PSS). What could cause this after they ruled out power steering systems AND suspension? It is still present on new PSS tires as well.
View 9 RepliesThe problem makes the car unsafe to drive. The quickest way to describe it is a hard pull to the left after a very linear steering feel. My perception is almost as something is holding on and then just fails and lets go and the car quite abruptly shoots left in a very unsafe manner. Here are the things I have done to remedy the situation, I replaced the struts with factory replacements 15,000 miles ago. At the same time i replaced the left and right axles, drove the car with the problem then last weekend, I replaced the upper tie rod arms, and lower tie rod ends, the sway bar bushings, and the control arms on both sides. I literally feel as though it is a darn near new front end.
Just yesterday I had 4 new Goodyear eagle tires and an alignment done and the problem became more pronounced and worst. I really like this car and want it to be a joy to drive as I know from others these little hatchbacks are a real joy on winding mountain roads.
Just replaced break pads and rotors. Inner pad on left side was gone leading me to believe slides were not working properly. Pulled apart, cleaned and greased everything, and replaced pads and rotors. Calipers seem to be working fine. Now when I break hard, the truck pulls badly to the left. When I break softly, it seeks normal. My front end is a bit out of whack and veers just a bit to the left. Do you think this is my issue with the breaking ? I'm getting new tires and an alignment soon but was just curious.
View 3 RepliesJumped in the truck this evening to go to the store and when I stared it up the left turn signal was blinking. Lifted the arm as usual to cancel and it does not cancel. Cannot get the left signal off unless I hold the turn signal up for the right signal. The right signal does not activate, but the left does go out as long as I hold the arm up. Let go and the left starts blinking again. Tried driving around to see if it would cancel and no luck. The bulbs are all good. I checked the relays in the fuse panel and they are good. Dang thing just won't shut off. It is a 2011 F150 SCREW Platinum w/5.0.

2014 f150 4wd. Jacked front tires off the ground today, right tire rotated easily by hand, left tire VERY difficult to rotate at all. Removed brake caliper and pads, but still difficult to rotate. Started truck up, right tire seemed even easier to rotate, but no change in left tire...
View 4 RepliesI just did my brakes and now I have this squeaking noise when going over speed bump or on uneven surface at low speed. I figure that the springs was decompressed when the car was jacked up and it would settle back down when the car was lower back down. Its has been over a week now and the noise is still there.
By the way, I replaced with Hawk ceramic brakes and it's great. No NOISE and NO brake DUST.
I have a 2008 f350, crew cab,6.4L. with 27,173 miles. may have a problem with the steering, seems to be tight when turning from left to right or right to left, doesn't seem to center, if I turn a little to left or right it stays there. I can go in complete a circle. Raised front off ground turns ok no binding, nothing loose on the front end.
View 1 Replies2008 F-350 wheel will lock for no reason. I think the Hydroboost has a hair line crack it and when the temp and pressure reach a certain number then it sends brake fluid threw the crack to the caliper? I also heard it could be in the ABS because its locking just one wheel?
View 1 RepliesWhen I turn hard right & left, near the left wheel well there's a little metallic clicking sound. Either way I still don't what it is. Upon inspection when I removed the wheel the I noticed that the red portion with the large arrow is able to move clockwise and counter clockwise. Just curious as to whether or not this should be capable of happening.
Wheel baring, control arm and bushings have been mentioned from Le Shwab's workers... I dunno though I need Vortex's opinion
When collar 3 is turned all the way down it can't rotate, but I'm almost positive that collar 2 and 3 are suppose to remain in contact with one another to prevent movement of collar 1. Just making sure that my theories are correct.
I have a 2003 Silverado 1500 4wd at low ( 5 mph ) speeds it turns to the left like I have manual steering. To the right it turns fine. As soon as I get the speed up to 6 or 7 mph turns fine. At a stop you can't hardly turn left but again turning right if fine. I can put in neutral and rev the engine up and it makes no difference. I googled the problem and I don't seem to be the only one with the problem and no one seems to have an answer. I have tried a lot of "fixes" like check the air in the tires and replace the steering fluid etc but nothing has worked yet.
