Looking for aftermarket headers for a 2011 f250 6.2l gas job. I have the famous leak and I want to put something in that isn't going to warp. I was told shorty headers typically match up with the stock exhaust. Eventually going to put in a cat back also so true shorty headers would be sick.

I replaced my headers and added slp loud mouth 2 side exit now my truck is throwing every evap code o2 codes and p0010 & p0020, There is 17 codes total. The headers are obx without cats. Also added 80mm bbk throttle body and some brisk racing plugs with hot street coil packs. Truck run with all of that stuff fine but when i did the headers and cat back everything went wrong.

Headers will probably be the next mod that I do to my F, I have read a good bit about them on here, but no one really says anything about how they are doing long term ( any issues from heat on engine bay plastics after years of use) or how the coating holds up after years of use as track or DD or just anything else that seems to be an issue over time after being installed.

PPE Engineering has been getting lot's of inquires from us ISF owners about the feasibility of making an Equal Length Header for the ISF similar to the one they make for the RCF. Since I am a past customer, live nearby, have another vehicle and am a pretty nice guy they called and asked if I might be interested in having my car test fit for Equal Length Headers.
While discussing this with them, I suggested that if modified RCF Headers wouldn't fit, maybe they could accomplish the equal length task by using long tubes. Well, it seems that RCF headers will in fact fit in an ISF, and the headers they built for me were also Long Tube. How sweet is that? But, the EL, LT headers must be used with the PPE Exhaust due to the exit point of the collector.
I went for Dyno testing yesterday, and it appears I lost 7HP at the top end and gained only 1.5 lb ft of torque at the high end. I also gained grunt at the bottom. My Seat of the Pants tells me the car is faster.
I don't know why it ran out of breath at the high end. Nothing else has changed.

As far as sound goes, in the cabin with the exhaust open, the drone remains in the same area (between 1900 and 2100 RPM) but is much lower in volume. I can now carry on a phone conversion (with bluetooth hands free) with the exhaust in the open position. The volume level does increase, however, when under acceleration through that RPM range.
Now the ISF does not have a lumpy engine by any means, but it idle with the old headers, the sound (both inside and outside the car) had a sort of lumpy growling quality to it. The sound is now very smooth, again inside and outside. The harmonics seemed to have changed.
Edit - My wheels and tires have changed. I'm now running RCF wheels with larger 295 vs 285 rears, so wheel weight is up a bit!
IS F (2008-2014) :: PPE Headers Install - Rubbing / Grinding Sound While Taking Right Turns
I had my local race shop install my new PPE headers and how I have a rubbing and grinding sound while taking right turns. They have had the car for a few extra days and they say they cant seem to find the cause of the problem. It rattles on a pot hole, it grinds on right turns and sometimes vibrates on highway cruise control driving.

I got this hankering to re-do my exhaust while my truck is all dissembled. My true dual has been a mistake since day one. It never gave me that deep growl that I wanted, and I miss my old cat back. Anyway I thought of an idea that would give me my one muffler back with plenty of air going into it. Check out the pics, and let me hear it. I will be leaving the pipes coming out of the headers alone, that way I don't have to buy doug thorleys expensive y-pipe.

I thought these things were bullet proof. I have 2 sets of recently installed ceramic coated headers and both sets are getting a rusty haze to them. One is a set of cast iron manifolds I got done at Jet-Hot and the other are from Ford Racing. Is there a polish or cleaner that will bring them back yet not damage the coating?

what material is used for the stock airbox? The 90 degree "snorkel" intake tube that is held on by two rivets on my airbox has a tab at one rivet that is cracked. This allows the snorkel to move around and come unsealed from the main airbox. It is "pre-filter" so there is no performance issue, but I would like it to stay in place and look right.
Depending on the material, I was going to shave some slivers from a thicker part of the box and mix it with a solvent to make a paste and apply it to the crack. This will only work if the material "melts" in strong solvents like acetone/MEK. Once it dries, it will be good as new. I have done this many times with ABS and PVC. There is a small gap to fill so simply gluing might not be as strong.

i just got a 2008 FEH 100K paid 11500 out the door 12800 is that a good deal? everything is clean. It has the upgraded sound system but i noticed that some feh have the mpg displayed on the screen it look like the feh with navigation not sure if this is seperate from nav or just part of touch screen. in any case is it possible to just install the stock dvd/nav stereo to get the mpg avg screen? if so is ther a guide
also is there a good read around here for new feh owners? looking to get the most mpg out of this ride.

I have a lx570 2013. I bought Doug Thotley's Longtube Headers. I haven't install yet, But I am about to.
I need to get my self a set of mid pipes that would hook directly my Doug Thorley's LongTube Headers and into the oem cat back.

IS F (2008-2014) :: Car Started Smoking Bad From The Exhaust
Went to a road course for the first time on Sunday. After about 10 laps the car started smoking bad from the exhaust. The smoke was thick and white. There were professional drivers present (driving school) as well as a lexus service manager there looking at the car after the run. The smoke was thick but without that sweet smell of coolant. This was the hardest the car has ever been run but also maintained normal oil and coolant temperatures. After a bit of resting the smoke cleared up and never came back, my drive home was 2 hours long and car still seems ok. Engine sounds good, oil very clean, what could it have been? I have no cats so its going to be more obvious than normal.

I shift at certain rpms from 1st-2nd just to hear the burble / popping out of the exhaust.. I hold it around 3k and the shift and let off the gas and it's a Orchestra of amazing noises that are Oh so addicting. Secondly, are there any negatives to doing this? Or that sometimes I hear the loud thud / pop when slowing down but not everytime . What is the true cause of these glorious noises.

Not sure if this is inherent to the exhaust setup on the R32, but had I noticed quite a bit of carbon build up on the driver's side tip versus the passenger side tip which was nearly clean.
This morning, I had it idling to warm up and with the exhaust vapor visible, there seemed to be about 3 times as much coming from the driver's side. Is this normal or should I get it checked out? I know that it's not gonna be exactly even, but it's exhausting probably 75% from one side...

Having a sound from my exhaust. Basically when the car is rolling along around 25 MPH or so, and my foot is not on the gas, as soon as I gently touch the gas pedal, I get a soft "thump" sound. This basically tends to happen in 5th or 6th gear only.
The previous owner had done a muffler delete on the stock exhaust so I figured there was some sort of back pressure issue because of this.
Finally out of frustration, I sprung for a new Borla Catback exhaust system, hoping to eliminate this issue. While the thump sound is slightly less, it still happens!
