While hard accelerating in all modes the car some times shifts @5500 RPM...

What the problem is?

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 2013 - Shifts Quite Hard From 1st To 2nd?

I've noticed that my 2013 STX F150 4x4 5.0L shifts quite hard from 1st to 2nd. This clears up when I pull the battery cable for 30 minutes but comes back in about 2 weeks.

Is this a pretty normal thing?

I have a 2008 GC 6 speed transmission that has 55000 miles on it. When the engine and tranny is cold the transmission shifts very hard until it warms up. There are times when shifting from reverse to drive it shifts very hard. Also, the siding doors creak when driving over rough roads. Can they be adjusted?

I have 99 f350 v10 4x4 and trans shifts great under light rpms but 2-3 shifts very hard. At wide open from about 35 mph it will shift down and take off like a bullet but wont shift until I lift my foot and then it bangs hard from 2-3. All other gears are smooth. I did some searching and have found some threads saying it could be an accumulator spring that is broken? Truck has 115,000 miles on it. love the truck but want to fix this before it does some damage.

I recently traded in my 2013 Audi TTRS in a very limited edition color. For my 2008 Lexus ISF... With 71k Miles. And I feel as if the car is very sluggish and up shifts are slow even with sport mode on! My buddy has an ISF as well and he even said mine shifts slower than his. I was wondering if maybe the previous owner skipped a few key maintainence things to cause such an issue. And yes I know how to drive a care, yes it's in sport mode and yes the vehicle is warmed prior to stupidity. The last recorded maintenance was at 60K miles.

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Hard To Start Then Sounds Like Rocks In A Tin Can Upon Accelerating

Ok, heres my issue. '11 crew cab f150, 4x4 5.0L. 108K miles Yesterday got in my truck to leave and it would crank, idle very rough with RPMs fluctuating then die. Did this several times til it stayed cranked long enough for me to press the accelerator to keep it cranked. Headed out down the road and it drove fine. Then upon accelerating I'd hear a noise like rocks in a tin can. Every time I accelerated it would do this. Drove to a mechanic. He drove it, heard it and told me to bring it back today because he was covered up. The rattle sound is similar to valves ticking, but worse.

I got up under it and looked for loose skid plates and loose exhaust components and could find nothing. Took it for another drive,engaged the 4x4 to 4H, drove it for a minute, went back to 2H and the sound was all but gone. Went ahead and filled up with premium gas. (had an 89 ranger that would only run on premium so thought i'd try it) Drove home. the noise was gone. Got up this morning. The truck hesitated to start. took three tries, then fired up normally. then drove it....no problems. no noise, everything normal. Don't wanna take it to the mechanic, if there is no apparent problem now. What's going on with my truck?

I installed new plugs and ignition coils in my 2008 Passat 3.6L V6 and now I have a slight bog when accelerating hard. Engine runs good otherwise and no codes. I gapped new plugs @ 1.0mm per manual. The old plugs had smaller gap. Would larger plug gap cause the bog?

Was in a 2.5 LE 2008 when the car hopped. I have a rough feeling as to what it might be.

I have a feather light foot and it was a gradual acceleration off the traffic lights. It felt like it hesitated and jerked forward. The incident occurred 2x over 3 weeks, and it is hard to replicate.

Eco/Normal/Sport S/S+ Mode... the literature doesnt say much except it changes throttle response and power output. For the Sport modes it says that "The rear-wheel drive IS 350 F SPORT's Sport S+ mode also tightens the suspension..." Are the shocks somehow adjustable, or is this just marketing BS?

I bought a 08 isf a week ago and its not in a really good condition it has done 177k miles and its moded with a k &N air intake and nameless exhaust.. According to its performance it still feels like 5.0 v8 and it gets to 60 less than five.. However the engine automatically cut-offs during a full throttle on 2nd and 3rd gear (during drive) so i was wondering if this thing is normal or the previous owners have done some tuning to its ECU.

I'm getting a readlly hard thump or slam from my transmission when accelerating. It only seems to happen when it shifts from 5 down to 4. This is usually when rounding an exit ramp, then excellerating back onto a highway. It's really bad and enough to make me nearly wet myself when it happens. It feels like the transmission is going to snap in half or something.

2008 F250 Lariat ... A/C is blowing real weak in all modes and temperatures. Did some reading and found that the evaporator and heater core could be clogged. I am just going to go ahead and assume taking the dash out of the truck and replacing both heater core and evap core would be the best fix. On to my question.. So, I picked up my new car today, a 2012 obsidian ISF with 53,000. I'm driving it back from Texas to Georgia in the morning but after driving it for the first 100 miles I notice a pull to the left under hard acceleration and to the right when I let off. I've never driven an F before and I'm coming out of an IS350. I haven't had a chance to check tire pressures yet but I notice the right rear tire is a Dunlop and all other 3 are Bridgestones. Could this be the cause?

I have noticed an uneven feel ( slightly ) when I turn hard left vs right. Its firmer when I turn to the left than the right. From the magazine issues I used to read when I look at directional skid pad results the right turn skid pad results are always lower than the left turn because of the weight of the driver.

IS F (2008-2014) :: Whirling Noise When Braking Hard From Very High Speeds Above 100 Mph

I have noticed the last 3 times I hit the brakes really hard above 100 mph ( even 120 mph) I hear a whirling noise coming from either the front brakes or tires. Kind of sounds like when you have really old summer tires on the car and you make a stop on the street . I have heard this on the track the last 2 track days I had. I know my front tires (Michelin PSS) are about 40% worn but are still in pretty good shape.

My rotors are the same that carried me through 6 track days in 10 months and was recently told by the dealership that my front pads need to be replaced sooner than later ( they were installed 10 months ago before all the track work ) and I am assuming the rotors are beat up pretty goo . I will be getting new tires in the next few months and will most likely be replacing pads and rotors at the next scheduled service. The car has 34k on it. Is this normal with Brembos or aggressive brakes?

Touareg :: When Accelerating Tranny Shifts Up And Down Suddenly Before Settling On A Gear

I just picked up a new 2006 Touareg V6 with package 4 Offroad Gray with all the fixin's. I'm still learning all the features of the car, I'm finding more and more innovative functions every day. I did have one "concern" that I have been noticing as I drive around, the transmission seems to want to hunt for a gear... sometimes when accelerating the tranny seems to get confused and shifts up and down suddenly before settling on a gear.

Also, this morning when I put the car in R, it wouldn't lock into reverse, it was stuck in neutral before it dumped into the reverse gear violently. The other thing that I have noticed is that it sometimes locks in gear when moving, it'll hold a low gear and not upshift when it should or it'll hold a tall gear and not downshift (for example it'll be in 6th gear even when I slow down to 20mph and then when I try to speed up it'll stay in 6th gear).

I believe this car is drive by wire and it's the first one that i've ever driven.... i've driven other autos before but they have been much smoother and more "direct" then this tranny. I did have an audi before this and that also wasn't the smoothest auto tranny either, it also seemed to have a mind of its own. Have people had these kinds of problems before and should it be something I should be concerned with or take back to the dealer with my concerns? It is a brand new car, i bought it with less then 30 miles and it has only 400 now. I love everything else about the car, the interior is top notch and the fit and finish is excellent so far, my only concern is the tranny.

Touareg :: Steering Pulls To The Right As The Tranny Shifts Into 5th Gear While Accelerating Mildly

After they flashed the TCM (vin 34000). Did not notice this before flash. Mild acceleration in a continuing curve to the right as the tranny shifts to 5th wheel pulls sharp to the right. Like a strong twitch. Also does it in left turn but not as strong. Didn't really bother me (driving wife nuts though, and its her car) in the dry, but Sat. nite on snow/ice scared bejaysus outa me. Felt like I was going to spin. If I lift before shift to 5th it doesn't happen. "Twitch" is about like you would to to miss something in the road. Maybe not that strong. Car thinks continuing radius curve is a decreasing radius turn. Not good. Haven't found the right road to try it under hard acceleration

As an aside, Contis worn out evenly at 10,000 miles. Granted, I did remove a few pieces from them this summer, but overall tread is gone.No binding feeling on dry pavement. It does "crab", or bind at slow speeds tight turns on snow/ice, but so does my Yukon XL in 4wd Auto mode.Have to visit dealer anyway. Service fault workshop light came on a few times. Restart and it went away. And dash wood cracked.
