View 2 RepliesStarting here to ask first but I currently have the CEL and VSC light both lit and 1st gear is locked out. What is causing this without having the codes read yet? Is it common to get both of these lights simultaneously? Having 1st gear locked out seems very concerning from a mechanical aspect to me, should I have it parked till I get it serviced?
View 9 RepliesI've had 2 issues with my 08 ISF. The first is when in manual mode and taking off hard in first my power steering light will come on and I will lose power steering, but when I park the vehicle and restart it the light goes away and the power steering works fine. This has happened twice. This has happened twice.
The second issue(I don't know if it's related) is that 3 times now I would go to crank my vehicle and it would click and not start as if it were dead. I would get out of the car and wait a minute and get back in and it will start up with no issues but the navigation would reload and the clock is a different time as if the battery was dead.
Got my oil change done 2,000 miles ago and already have the oil maintenance light come on after 2,000 miles. I still have over 3,000 miles before I am due for an oil change. And also have noticed a drop in fuel economy of 4-5 mpg. What's going on?
View 7 RepliesPCS blinking yellow light? I know what it is for but just got the car (2011 ISF) on Saturday and no PCS light. Drove it for about 10 minutes the first day I got it and then couldn't drive it again until today. Today = PCS light.
I was investigating wiring yesterday in the sunroof area for possibly hooking up a radar detector, which I didn't do yet. I replaced the car battery the day before. Drove it around today for really the first time and the PCS light remains.
I got my 2011 ISF with 17k miles. About a month ago it started to make noise under light braking. No noise under heavy braking. I know the ISF go through brake and tires like crazy but at 18k miles?
What pads and rotors are recommended for a new set?
I just got the car on Monday and haven't had a chance to go through everything, but plan to this weekend. I've read on how to disengage the traction control, but my problem is the light doesn't come on in the dash on startup. I'm assuming a burnt out light, but I don't that that is a normal thing.
View 14 RepliesThis weekend was the first cold weekend we have had and I did not get to take the F out, this morning on the ride in to work my low tire presser light came on. I will check the pressers this afternoon when I leave work but but could it be just due to the weather? also how do you reset the light?
View 14 RepliesHaving issues with the gear indicator light on the center console go out?
View 2 RepliesWhy my traction control light stays on? just installed sikky headers. The light will not turn off no matter how long i hold the traction button. Could it be a sensor? No VSC or CEL only traction control light...
View 8 RepliesWhile braking at very low spreads (towards the end of a stop), I get squeaking with light pressure braking. Then, yesterday it finally drove me insane. It was a lot louder than normal. Only thing different was that it was alot hotter than usual. It would squeak, as I lift off the brake lightly (while still applying pressure) to inch the car forward in traffic. I had always noticed a faint squeaking, but its now louder than what I grew accustomed to.
The dealership who installed my brakes 9800 miles ago, says there was a glazing, And they can't fix it (polish), because it's drilled rotors.
I'm new to owning an ISF. I purchased it almost two months ago and couldn't be more happy with it. I know after owning a car you will start to notice more and more about the car. About a month into owning the car I was on my way to work and I stopped at a light. I noticed that there was a very slight shutter at idle. No where near the shutter if it was missing on a spark plug. After that day it has drawn my attention whenever I stop.
My question is is this normal? I know having a V8 in the car there is going to be some vibration. It's a 2009 with 29k.
So I bought LOLM3's old Borla a while back & everything's been great except CEL P0137 & the VSC light keeps popping up on me every 30-40 miles. I have a 12' with 20k miles on the odo.
P0137: O2 SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE (BANK 1 SENSOR 2)
It has secondary cats welded on along with these type of O2 defoulers so the O2 sensors can reach the re-located bungs (except they're welded, not screwed on):
I've swapped sensor 1's with bank 2's sensor & even went ahead & replaced it with a brand new one, same code keeps popping up . Resetting the light is getting old & inspection time is coming up!
There are no audible exhaust leaks as far as I can tell, would a minor leak throw the CEL?Should I cut out the secondary cats & replace with straight piping like how the exhaust was originally made?
Just had my lexus dealership do the ELF recall. While it was in there I had them check to see why my check vsc light comes on randomly which sets off the check engine light.
They came back and told me that my water pump is leaking, what are the future problems of a leaking water pump?
They said the check vsc light is coming on, in their words is "found center y pipe, gaskets leaking at front pipe, may still need to replace converter pipe." So what does that mean and what do I need to do?
So I got my 2010 ISF last year around this time.... I never noticed anything a possible heat problem... So basically I've noticed that when ever I stop at red lights or at idle, my heat turns cold?
Temp is at high and the AC light is off too... When ever I drive it warms up again and works like a champ... But at idle or stopped it's completely cold....
It's scaring me.... My car is certified still I believe, this problem should be covered since it's internal?
I took my car to get inspected today and it was rejected because of P0420 and P0430: Both Catalyst system efficiency below... My check engine is also on.
I have the full Meisterschaft exhaust installed (+midpipe) PPE headers and K&N intake. Whats the problem and how can I get this fixed so I can pass the inspection?
The blue illuminated sills were already installed when I purchased the car...I just recently noticed that both sides don't light up anymore. I'm not sure when exactly they quit working, but i recently had my battery replaced. I checked every fuse in my car and can't find one that is blown. Is this a fuse problem? or did both sills just decide to crap out together? I checked both connections and they're solid.
View 14 RepliesWhen I reverse on flat surface no bumps or anything like that... when I proceed to go forward I get a light click pop noise from my passenger front area I don't know what it might be I will be putting it on a lift to check if anything is loose ...suspension mods are usrs bushing and bc coilovers ...What I should look at would be great. When turning or going over bumps I get no noise what so ever its only when I proceed so go forward after reversing
View 2 RepliesI can't find the button to reset the TPMS light on my dash. It's not even in the glove compartment.
View 7 RepliesI bought a new 2008 ISF back in the day and acquired a 2009 M5 with 6,000 miles late last year.
My ISF has headers, exhaust and throttle control which absolutely changed the car from a Lexus to a contender, consider the mods with the following comparison. I enjoy my M5 a lot, it is my out of town car- drives great at 180, corners well, solid, roomy (being from Vegas I can fit 4 bodies in the trunk)..I can go on about all the positives.
However, the F is faster with the mods, better ergonomics, and has fewer repair issues. It feels like a go cart. It pulls the 5 until it hits the limiter. As there were only 500 or so produced each year.
I just bought a 2008 IS-F
Anyway, so my check engine light doesn't come on. I know it's supposed to do a bulb check, and after two seconds or so it's supposed to shut off. All my other bulbs check, just no CEL.
So worried, I went to plug in my OBD2 reader, and no power. I tried two different readers on the car, and neither one of them power up. I tried it on my G35, and they both work.
Secondly, there's a Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) on the front passenger side that has three vacuum ports, only two are hooked up.
More importantly is the OBD port, I think my F is in limp mode because when I go to manual mode it won't allow first gear.
However, when I go to rev it up, everything is solid, the car pulls like crazy regardless. The car looks like it had an intake and someone went back to stock, also it's got some kind of exhaust as well.
