Using spacers and widening the stance? If yes then how wide and what were the results? Any pictures?

View 14 Replies2015 F350, Want to do a leveling kit. Are the spacers good enough or should I do the track bar relocation too?
View 5 RepliesAnd I have coil overs, I'm not super low but pretty low and every time I get my alignment done they say they can't so anything about the rear having so much negative camber. And it is really eating up the inside sidewalls of my tires like crazy.
View 5 RepliesTrying 1.5 spacers on an f 150? Im not sure if wider is better.
View 5 RepliesHow to remove the spacer from the rear-end, spring and axle housing. If so, would it be the best to remove one at time etc. Must they be re-located below the axle or totally removed. I don't have a hoist to work from only floor jacks.
View 14 RepliesI thought I'd finally move into the 21st century and jump on the mp3/bluetooth streaming wagon. Was always the traditional CD-album guy and after this, I may need to go back.
Problem is, I can't change track with the radio or steering wheel controls. Also, unlike the phone which automatically is available for use after the auto-connection happens via the car's controls, I have to manually launch the player on my phone then push play on it. Once done, music plays from the BT Audio system and when that track is complete, moves on automatically to the next one. The control of pausing, playing, skipping tracks does not work via the car (steering and audio controller) and is ONLY possible from the phone which defeats the purpose of a hands-free driving experience.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Android v4.3 and I've tried both Google Play Music and the native "Music" player on the device, with no luck. I have the standard Display Audio Controller (no-NAV).
So I have been running squared 12.5mm spacers with correct length lugs. I recently traded with a friend in the front from my current 10mm's, up to the 12.5mm's and back down to my 10mm. I noticed at speed that I was getting a pretty steady vibration at 80mph. I think it has something to do with me not tightening my lugs all of the way down, buddy thinks they're backing themselves out.
I pulled them today in the rain to just stock lug bolts and everything feels 100% better. I want to return to my spacers that I have never had issue with before but I'm worried about losing a wheel and dying at high speed. Problem with loose lugs causing vibration even though the first and second time I check that they felt pretty tight?? Or should I just snug em really good to see when I put them back on...
Note they are ecs tuning 10mm hubcentric with good matching lugs.
I will be receiving my 2010 Prius in a day or two. The road condition in Pakistan are not that favorable for the imported cars as they get hit from underneath alot. So I'll need to put 1" spacers on top of the rear suspension. that will require disassembling the shock absorbers. I just need to know how to disassemble the interior to gain access to the suspension nuts inside the car?
View 6 RepliesI have an 02 f150 2WD with a "leveling" kit. It was on the truck when I bought it. However, the front sets noticeably higher than the rear. The rear has lifting blocks, while the front has the lifted spindles as well as the coil spring spacers. At least I think they are spacers. I had to replace lower control arm bushings a while back, and there were black plastic rings on top of the springs. Can I remove the spacers? If I can, I plan on doing that and replacing the rear blocks with whatever I need to get the stance back. I like the height of the truck now, just hate the front being higher than the rear. I do pull my boat with it.
View 2 RepliesI have 2000 miles on a 2014 Prius v. When I try to use either Apple shuffle or iPod I get a hiss noise on top of what ever track is playing. I have tried various cables to make the connection between the audio system and the apple products.
My dealer gave me a free hour but could not re create the noise and sent me away with a comment blaming my devices. The problem recurs but now the dealer says I must pay $100/ per hour for diagnosis. No reason to trust the dealer diagnosis technique. Toyota says I m free to try another dealer and says I must use genuine Apple cables as "specified by my dealer".
Apple does not make a coaxial connector cable for the purpose and relies on Belkin. My local authorized apple dealer does not sell the Belkin cable and favors a different cable instead. I am certain the cable is not the issue.
The left rear window in my 2004 has either come off track or the retainer/clip holding the window in the truck has broken. My problem isnt fixing it, it is getting the door panel off.

Does the ASI-44420 broken sunroof track TSB apply to 2012 F150? I see a lot of complaints from 2011 & 2012 users online, however having trouble locating a TSB. The fix for 2009-2015 is the same, so my initial thought was the TSB should cover all those years as well.
I noticed the driver side window in my car is loose. It wiggles on the track when rolled down 2-6 inches. You can also hear it in the door when the door is closed when it is rolled down all the way. It sounds like the windows on the old Trans Ams and Camros, which were always loise. It became loose between the first scheduled service and the one year service.
I mentioned it at the one year. The tech said all 4 2014 SE's had the same problem. He showed me it, too. He told me there was nothing he could do since its how Toyota made the car. And the other cars had the same problem. Since he said there was nothing he could do about it, I called Toyota to report it.
On the edge of the rear door and spots around the rear tire I have this clear film on the car. The one on the back door is triangle shape so I'm thinking this is not a mistake on my dealers part to remove it during delivery.
View 14 RepliesA Water gets into wheel hubs much easier with aftermarket wheels than OEM wheels. I have a set of BBS RS-GT wheels and this is what the rear hub looks like after about a year. Previously I noticed with OEM wheels there is just a little surface rust. Hopefully I won't need to remove in the future as it looks welded.
View 14 RepliesSo.. Today coming back from work, I felt clucking sound from front wheel when going from 5-15mph. I even felt that when I had my left foot on the foot rest area. Its appeared during the driving from work to home and check whether if there is any rock or tree branch on tire or wheel but no...
So after 30mins later, went to gym and the the sound was completely gone.. Would it be because of bad wheel bearing or suspension or ball joint issue?
2012 ISF
Weird thing yesterday, noticed a rotational tick sound coming from the right rear wheel during slow backing up with the windows down. Sounded like debris stuck between the dust shield and the rotor. Had that tinny sound. Anyway, no dealer around in the town I was at. Closest is over two hours away and not in the direction of home which was four hours away.
I was visiting friends, and decided to jack the truck up and pull the wheel off and clear whatever debris was stuck in there. Pulled the wheel and didn't see anything. Rotated the hub and could still hear the noise. I pulled the caliper next and made sure nothing was in there. There wasn't. Ok, must be in behind the disc in the parking brake shoe area and making contact with the dust shield. I pulled the caliper mount and then the rotor. Still didn't see any debris or anything foreign. What I did see was a bunch of metal filings on the inner side of the brake shoes all around the backing plate. Also a fair amount of metal filings in the drum portion of the rotor.
Rotated the hub again, and noticed the noise coming from the retaining pin cap on the rear most shoe. It was rubbing against the backside of the hub. As the hub rotated the cap spun and made noise as the spring gave way and turned. This made sense for the noise and the metal filings. The cap was still in place and the pin was not being touched yet by the back of the hub. I reassembled it all and decided the further drive home was not going cause more harm than what was already done.
Dropped off at my local dealer this morning and explained the above. The technician confirmed it as well, and ordered the a new retaining pin. Some how it got out of tolerance and caused itself to be longer than it should have. The tolerance appeared close from the front side shoe that was not rubbing.
Having problem after installing 15mm spacers. Cleaned the hub with sandpaper and re-torqued but still getting somewhat wobbling on flat roads.
View 14 RepliesSo from my previous post of might having a tranny problem or differential issue, it turns out that my front passenger side wheel hub is bad. Here is the odd part......the front passenger side wheel has some side to side play and it does make a clunk noise but it spins freely. On the driver side, there doesn't seem to be any play but it has resistance when spinning the wheels. Are both front wheel hubs bad or just one?
View 1 RepliesI need to remove the bumper to replace the reflectors for some lead breaking lights, so I'll also need to find the rear break lights cables to jump this leds.
View 14 RepliesI'm looking to remove the deck lid on the F to check out the sub (seems like it's working sometimes).
I pull the seat bottoms up, and pulled the 12mm bolts to get the seat back off, I couldn't get the belts out, nor the through the deck lid.
