Any way to remove the "beep" sound at redline? i love that it shows the yellow yellow then red but the beep can get annoying.

View 14 RepliesI am curious; is it NOT suppose to beep when BSM has detected a car and you try to put blinker on? Mine just blinks the icon on the mirror, which is not nearly as noticeable as a audible sound. Also, what about the backup camera? Obviously, this car has sensors... but why don't the beep?
View 12 RepliesHave started seeing an issue on my 2012 about few months already and the dealer could not even diagnose it because it is intermittent.
Sometimes when I arm the alarm, I can hear the actuators/solenoids cycle, but there is no single beep and the driver's door invariably remains unlocked. Repeated press of the arm button on the fob would not change, i.e. vehicle remains unarmed and driver's door remains unlocked. All the other doors are unaffected.
I can cycle through by pressing unlock once or twice, then the next relocking press would work. This is worrisome if I didn't pay attention to the beep and thought the vehicle is locked while in fact it was not, this could also happen when the vehicle is at the dealership as the porter would think pressing the button would have locked the vehicle.
Ok, so in M mode shifts can be a little rough from 2nd to 3rd unless I give it enough gas. It's no big deal and my car has always been like that (owned it since 9/2013). But as of yesterday, shifts have completely changed from 1st to 2nd. It is clunky, extremely quick and lurches forward every time in M mode. It has NEVER done this before and it kinda sucks.
I've read all of the threads regarding tranny fluid, belt squeak, etc. and haven't specifically found anything like this. I haven't done anything to the car except the ELF recall and an oil change about a month ago.
My 2011 ISF has around 50K miles. Recently I noticed that when I shift into 1st from 2nd, usually on approach to a slower curve or slowing down to a light, there appears to be a distinct shudder. It doesn't happen all the time, and it happens regardless of Sport or normal mode.
Right after it shifts to 1st and the RPMs climb (or so it seems), I get 3-4 distinct back and forth movements .. i.e shudder. I think this is a recent phenomenon, as I know shifting into 1st is usually not very smooth, but I don't think I felt this shudder before.
No codes etc ...everything else normal. Don't think the trans is slipping, as car pulls hard and traction control is always busy. Motor mounts? Car is never tracked and driven spiritedly, but never ever abused or tracked. I do enjoy shifting it.
So I just wanted to ask 2 things.. Am I the only person who purposely shifts at certain rpms from 1st-2nd just to hear the burble/popping out of the exhaust.. I hold it around 3k and the shift and let off the gas and it's a Orchestra of amazing noises that are Oh so addicting. Secondly, are there any negatives to doing this... Or that sometimes I hear the loud thud/pop when slowing down but not every time... What is the true cause of these glorious noises.
View 8 RepliesSo I drive home today, a relatively hot day, but nothing that out of that norm... 25 miles later, I pull into my garage and turn the car off, as I go to retrieve my computer bag from the back seat, I hear an intermittent sizzling sound coming I presume from under the hood. I haven't heard this before and I'm approaching the 5K mark. I'm looking all over the place trying to source the sound. I hop back in the car and back it out to look at the garage floor.
Other than some water on the ground, which I presume is condensation, there is nothing. No warning lights no indicators, everything is reading normal. So I take the car for a quick drive around the block, and pull back into the garage... This time I don't hear anything. The sizzling in truth did sound like water hitting a hot surface, not electrical in nature, but it lasted for a good 10 seconds or so after shutoff.
Car is:
1) Warmed up
2) At a standstill
3) In manual mode, 1st gear
4) Traction control is on/normal
5) Sport mode is on/off (doesn't seem to matter for this example)
How to verify:
1) Hit gas, more than 3/4 down
2) Shift above 5500rpm
3) As transmission up-shifts a drive belt squeal is heard.
4) Car otherwise accelerates normally.
This happens on two IS-Fs I've driven, a 2009 and a 2010, with or without the AC on. Is this a common issue? If so, what belt is slipping?
My 2013 has more turns to lock going right than left. Going right, my steering wheel will go exactly 1.5 turns to the right from center, but only about 1.3-1.4 going left from center. Is it a feature? Never noticed anything like this on any other cars I've had.
View 7 RepliesI own a 2010 ford f150 that make a grumbling sound when i turn. the dealeship has replaced the clutches for the limited slip rear end 2 times now and it is happening again. they told me that the ford engineers are working on the problem but they do not have a fix for it yet. So they told me to just drive it with the positive traction engaged until they get a fix for it. Not exactly the answer I was looking for.
View 14 RepliesLast night our prius started making a mechanical sound when we shift into forward or reverse.
View 7 RepliesWhenever I am in a parking lot turning into parking spaces or driving slowly around or even turning into my driveway I have a deep creaking type sound that sounds awful. It's either the suspension going south, something with one of the strut bars or the bigger diameter mid pipe making contact with something when the car is turning. Car is noise free otherwise even over soles bumps, just happens to sound nasty when making turn ins going 2-5 mph.
View 7 RepliesSo yet I found out about another common issue but not that publicized. This is the grinding sound when turning at full lock (left or right) in slow speed. I've read several people in the forum who has encountered this. I read different remedies but the most common one is to have the CV boots lubricated.
I have a 2014 Wolfsburg with almost 5k miles. I am really now worrying about my water pump crapping out on me but I heard this grinding sound yesterday.
I just bought a 2008 Hyundai Elantra. Today I noticed that when I turn the key into the last position before starting (when the air/heat and radio work, but the engine isn't started), I hear a clicking sound coming from the front of the car. The clicks start as soon as I put the key into that position. After about 5-6 quick clicks in 2-5 seconds, it stops. The clicking is the same every time. It sounds exactly like when you're igniting a gas stove.
Just to be clear, the car starts fine. There is no clicking when I'm turning the key far enough for the engine to turn over. It's only when I put it in the last position for radio/ac/heat. Is this normal? I never noticed it with my other car.
When I was reversing back and turning the steering wheel. I heard a metal clunk sound and it had happened twice in the past two days. Today happened after I released the parking brake and set it to reverse. What is the problem? Miles on the car is ~30700 miles.
View 2 RepliesRecently when I leave my driveway which only has a slight grade to it my truck makes a clunking sound when I hit the gutter and while turning slightly. Also my front drive line from transfer case to front axle has some play in it. I can rotate the front drive line about 3/4" to an 1" while parked in the driveway. Changing u joints. I figured this would be a good starting point. 2005 XLT 4x4 5.4L F150.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2004 F-150 STX 2WD with a 2.5" leveling kit on it. I recently have noticed a rubbing sound that can be felt in the steering wheel and gas pedal the instant you turn right. I just replaced both hub assemblies and I just really don't know what it could be. It doesn't happen when you turn left or go straight and there should be no reason as to why my tires rub, because they haven't before. I got my truck aligned and they checked my joints and everything and said that it was fine....
View 13 RepliesRecently the car would make a beep when it's being turned off. I vaguely remember it's signaling something like the FOB battery being weak but not sure.
View 3 RepliesCannot any instructions of how to do it. there are a few links that are supposed to tell you, but those links did not lead me to any instructions.
View 8 RepliesI love my V8 but the thing beeps every time i breathe. Is there a way to turn off some of the beeps/chimes/ or turn down the volume?
View 24 RepliesI want to turn off the seat belt beep on my C. From what I understand, it can be customized by the dealer when you get the car (free?), but I didn't know that until I read the manual. I asked at my last maintenance and they said there's a $50 fee because they have to connect to the OBDII port and push a few buttons. I asked when scheduling maintenance next week, was told the same thing about the fee, and the employee said they'd check with a manager and let me know about doing it free (haven't gotten a response).
