Have my maintenance reminder set at 10K and it shows that I have 5.6K left but started getting "Oil Maintenance Required Soon" warning. Is the factory oil change interval set at 5K or is there something else I should be considering?

View 2 RepliesSet up the free oil change for next week (10,600 on the odometer) and was wondering if this is an automatic light just based on mileage. Prior owner got a free 5,000 mile oil change and selling dealer changed the oil at 5,800 when we bought it.
But I guess if there's a reset somewhere that neither prior dealer took the time to do the car thinks it's time for it's first change. This is a 2014.5 SE Sport put in service July of 2014.
How to turn off the maintenance required light on a 2014 IS350? I can find info on a 2013 and older but nothing on a 2014.

View 2 RepliesOk, so I had the IM replaced today in my 2010 III due to CEL illumination, will post error code and part # later. Prior to taking it in, my "Oil Maintenance Required" came on upon start up, so I had them do that while I was there getting the IM replaced. Then the service tech comes to me and says, "Your back brakes have 0 pads and you need new rotors, a front end alignment and possibly new tires."

I am just out of the dealer service period (2 years, 25000m). I took my Prius -v (3) 2012 to my mechanic. He did the oil and filter change, but could not reset the Maint Reqd light. It seems it is different from the regular Prius. I looked on the forum, and tried the suggestions, but none worked. It was supposed to be (with odometer showing).
Turn the “POWER” switch to ON mode. The multi-information displays initial screen will be displayed for a few seconds. While the initial screen is being displayed, press the “TRIP” steering switch (→P. 186) 3 times, pressing and holding the switch on the third time. I tried doing this both with my foot on the break and off, but all I got was a reset trip.
Got 14 Prius V back from first maintenance today and noticed the mechanic forgot to reset the light. So I called my advisor and she told me what to do. Here is process for others to share:
1. Set odo/trip to Trip A
2. Turn off vehicle
3. Hold down mi/hr-km/hr button on dash
4. While holding down button, turn on vehicle to ON state (Press Power button TWICE, but DO NOT press brake pedal - you don't want engine to start)
5. Wait while Maint Req light flashes, then goes off completely - about 4 seconds.
6. Turn off vehicle.
I have a 2006 camry xle v6 and recently my wife got a oil change and after a week the maint.required light stays on how do you reset this they must have forgot?

I have looked in Maintenance, but none of the dates are set. Does it just automatically trigger from some factory reset at 4500 miles or so for the oil changes?
View 11 RepliesThe engine symbol (not the "Engine Maint. Reqd." light, but the actual image-of-an-engine light) has been coming on and going off for the past 3 months. The car has 76,000 miles and is in great condition overall. When the light comes on, there's no discernible change in the way the car rides or feels. Each time I've gotten close to taking it in for service, the light has gone off, so I've decided not to spend the money. Since the first time it came on back in December, I've put a bottle of fuel-injector cleaner in and there seems to be a correlation with the light going off again anywhere from 1 mile to 50 miles later.

I have changed the oil myself though so I don't have to pay 30 dollars for 8 dollars worth of oil. I'm thinking this light is just some program reminder, but what this light is and how I can turn it off.
