View 14 RepliesThe tire pressure reset button? I don't see this button vs. where the owners manual says it is. Can any post a pic of where this button is?
View 5 RepliesHow do you rest the low tire warning light on a 2014 1/2 Camry ?
View 8 RepliesI had a low tire and TPMS light came on. I filled all tires to recommended settings + 1 lb. 34 lbs. The light still doesn't reset what can be done to reset it?
View 3 RepliesThis morning, my 2011 F150, told me that my rear driver side door was a jar on the center console. I opened and closed it several times using the inside handle and the outside handle. It affecting the battery since the interior lights stay on. Is there a way to reset / clean the sensor so that I don't have to take it into the Dealer?.. Their next appoint is mid next week.
View 3 RepliesMy is350 F sport tire pressure sensors. Well I have after market wheels with the stock tire pressure sensors, when they were first installed everything was fine, now about 2 months later now that it is a little cooler. My two back sensors are showing the warning light. it still reads the pressure and shows correct pressure but sensor warning light for both rear tires are on. Why this is? I was thinking the colder weather but why only the rear two and not the front. they go off and on but lately both have been on.
View 3 RepliesI would get "Tire Pressure Sensor Fault" on my display all the time. The problem occurred mostly on long trips, however, it would occur from time to time on shorter trips. I complained to the dealer about this every time I went in for an oil change. They could never find a problem and wanted me to bring it in when the fault was occurring. Of course these thing never happen when you're by a dealer. To my dealers credit they said they would fix the problem out of warranty if we can find it.
Well I found the problem. As strange as it sounds if I use the cigarette lighter with a power USB adapter to charge my phone or iPad I get the fault. If I use the 12V accessory port on the dash no fault.
Last weekend we drove to Nisswa MN & back (about 1,200 miles). To test the theory I only used the 12V accessory port and no fault occurred. Normally the fault would occur w/in 50 miles then just continue on being annoying the whole rest of the trip. I wish I would have found this out 57,000 miles ago. I use the adapter because the USB port on the dash will only charge my iPhone if the phone is off.
My low tire light is on my 2009 VW Sportwagen SE 2.5. The tires are inflated properly even the spare tire and yet the light is still on.
View 1 RepliesAnother 5k miles and the maintenance required light has come on. The 300h wants its tires rotated. I don't want to take it into the dealer just for that. Which tire goes where in a Lexus rotation? Also how to make sure the tire monitoring system knows the tire location has changed? I can move the tires around myself but don't know how to reset the tire monitoring system to the new tire location.
View 3 RepliesI have reset my tire sensors twice and the low tire light would still come on, so I called the dealer today..he said you have to set the tire pressure to what is on the door jam.
65 psi front and 85 psi rear. I did not know that. I had been setting all to 65 psi.
Ever since it started getting cold here in the Northeast (mid December ish) my tire pressure sensor light is on. I know that it may be necessary to add air during cold weather as the air in the tire can contract in the cold but the pressure is fine - I had my mechanic check it out. Light does go out when it warms up - at least above freezing - but comes back on again when it gets cold. Normally I spend most of the winter in Florida but am usually here (in MA) until mid Jan. and this has never happened in previous years.
View 2 RepliesI upgraded my 2007 f150 xl from 17" hankook tires to 18" michelins....problem is the low tire pressure light has come on and wont go off....Ive checked the tire pressure and all are equal... how to turn this light off, or what may be the problem?
View 14 RepliesI love my new ride too (08 V6). I hvae a couple of questions: How can you disable your DRL? I went to the convenience page and there's no option to disable DRL (day time running lights). How can I reset the tire pressure monitor sensor. I upgraded to the 19" wheels and my TPMS settings is for 17" wheels.
I looked all over the MFD and I don't have the option to reset them. But according to the manual that came with the car I should have that option. One thing I noticed their manual is not the greatest. By the way this is my first VW.
I am lowered on KW V3's, running Figs lower control arm bushings with toe set to 0 for alignment just to be safe. Before upgrading to the Figs CAB's, I had the usual inner tire wear on both fronts. I then set the alignment to the safer toe=0 and it got better but still not perfect, so we installed the Figs bushings which made things great.
In the last 20k miles, something is off. My LF tire (Michelin Pilot Super Sport) easily lasted the 20K miles with very even wear. But I've gone through 2 RF tires, with the same outcome. After about 8-10K miles, the inner edge of the sidewall is so worn that the tire has physically separated. If you see the pic below, there is significant tire failure. Same issue, 2 tires on the same side.
Now, if this was happening on both sides, I would assume it's the normal ISF inner tire wear issue. But since we upgraded the CAB's, still have toe set to 0 and the LF is wearing perfectly, something else must be off. A check of all the main suspension points shows all bushings to be ok. The car has never been in a wreck and you can see the alignment specs below appear ok. Tire appears choppy, like a toe issue but the Figs bushing appears fine.
This weekend was the first cold weekend we have had and I did not get to take the F out, this morning on the ride in to work my low tire presser light came on. I will check the pressers this afternoon when I leave work but but could it be just due to the weather? also how do you reset the light?
View 14 RepliesI'm looking to buy an ISF and now I'm reading about the 2IS chassis suffering from front inner tire wear with many attributing it to the soft LCA bushing (see FIG fix) and the factory alignment. Most of the reports seem to be focused on the 2008-2010 ISFs and I see little about 2011+ owners reporting this issue. It's my understanding that the 2011+ front springs are slightly taller/higher and a different rate. Did this possibility (inadvertently) correct the front inner tire wear issue?
I had a 2003 G35 and front inner tire wear plagued that car too and it was annoying and no real fix available. It had the same exact suspension setup on ALL components. We didn't smoke through the inner rubber tread, but rather it feathered like and if you didn't stay on top of it, your G/Z would sound and feel like a dump truck after about 10-15K miles because of the feathering.
I'm looking at 2012-2014 ISFs and I would check and correct the alignment if necessary. I know FIG makes a replacement bushing, but it's urethane and after about 20 years of modding cars, I've learned that urethane is best left to race cars. After about 5K miles, urethane needs regreasing and almost always leads to squeaking/clunking as the urethane loosens up after a year or two.
I was just driving home and noticed and sort of slapping sound from my rear left tire - I pulled over at a gas station to take a look at it and found no issues with the tire itself (bubbles/flat spots) or any irregular wear, my next best guess is that the wheel bearing has gone bad, is there a way i can test this for the rear wheels without putting it on a lift?
View 13 RepliesIt's like a tire grinding or shuffling at low parking lot speed, hard right or left turn, more evident when slowly braking during the turn. Dealership claims the negative camber contributes to this phenomenon and that nothing can be done about it.
I realize we have about a 1.5-degree negative camber in 2011-and on IS-F (I have no mods and still running with stock Potenza RE-050s), perhaps this contributes to the feel of the tires at parking speeds.
2009 Ford Explorer, 6cyl, 4L, 33K miles. When its started up, the message "Tire Sensor Fault" appears along with the low tire icon flashing (steady light after ~30 seconds). I can then press the reset button on my dash to clear the message. However, the tire light icon stays lit. I've checked and re-checked the tire pressure in all the tires (spare included) and I'm right at the recommended 32-34 psi on all the tires. No signs of leaks at all. I'm assuming one (or more) of the tire pressure sensors have gone bad and there's no way for a garage (or myself) to identify which one or repair this. Should I assume a trip to the dreaded dealer for this problem ???
View 10 RepliesSo due to a puncture I got earlier this week, I had to buy a new front passenger side right tire. Now the car pulls very slightly to the right. Is this due to having about 6k miles on the left tire and a brand new right tire or do I need an alignment again?
View 2 RepliesI have the car stored but when I went to start it last week it was dead. Trickle charged the battery and noticed on the cluster my car said the door was open (it was not). I firmly closed it and it the indicator went off, check later and the light came back on. It's likely hardware and not something I can clear so any tips?
