My F started to do this a couple of months ago. It will not unlock the driver side door with either from the handle (while key in your pockets) or with the key fob (when pressing the button). If i go to the passenger side and place my hand on the handle it will unlock the doors except the driver. Is there any remedy to this? Does it have to do with the Actuator?
View 2 RepliesJust a few days ago I have been experiencing the following issues;
- Unlocking the door through the handle caused the vehicle to flash the emergency lights, both exterior and interior lights pulse, 4 times.
- The tachometer blacks out and stays blacked out for the duration of the trip. Resetting it (Turning off the car, turning off the radio) didn't work.
- Replacing the key fob battery didn't work.
I did schedule for my car to be serviced, but anything I can do to fix it now would be great.
I had my '09 F-150 Super Crew lock punched out on driver side door. To prevent this from happening again, I am replacing that handle with a handle for the rear door that has NO lock. I will no longer have key access to the truck. I am also ordering a spare remote. Is there anything I should consider before following through with this decision? Why I shouldn't do this? Is this a common thing to do?
View 14 RepliesMy driver door on my 06 F150 crew cab stopped locking/unlocking recently. I purchased a new actuator and installed and it worked great. About a week later it stopped working again. But then in order to unlock the door from outside you had to turn key and pull on handle while the key was still turned. I was about to break open door again when it made a strange electronic type sound when I was leaving for work (when auto lock activated). After that it started working again - for 3-4 days. Now it stopped working again. I can open door fine from inside but lock won't stay unlocked. As soon as I release handle it locks again.

View 14 RepliesI have a 2008 Toyota Yaris. A few weeks ago my driver's side rear door stopped unlocking with the button on the key and the button on the driver's side door panel. About 2 weeks ago it started to work again, but just for 1 day; then it went right back to not working. About a week ago my passenger side door did the exact same.
I looked up the issue online and found that people with 07 RAV4s. An owner a RAV4 took the actuator in the door apart and found that the copper contacts had charred. After scraping with extremely fine sand paper and steel wool, and then reassembly of the door, the lock worked.
My 2011 ES 350 has auto locks as to when I touch the door handle, it unlocks the doors. However, the driver's door only unlocks the driver's door, whereas any other doors unlock all of the doors. Is there a way to make the driver's door handle unlock all of the doors?

View 5 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius Touring HB. A few months ago, I left the car on Acc mode by mistake and drained the 12V battery. Had to use the manual key to get in the vehicle and jump start the vehicle. Since then I have not been able to open the drivers side door with the SKS and touch sensor. I can lock the door by pressing the black button the handle. Battery in teh FOB appears to be functioning well. Doors unlock when I touch the passenger side handle or the latch on the rear hatch. Key button is up (SKS is operational).
I am not sure if I may have done something when jump starting that turned off the sensor feature of the driver side handle.
2011 Malibu 4 cyl 6 spd auto: From time to time when I'm driving, the driver door unlocks. The other three remain locked. What could be going on?
View 2 RepliesThe fob of my 2006 prius stopped unlocking the driver's door, it does unlock, however, all other doors. Also when locking the car all doors lock no problem, so the weird thing is the "unlocking of the driver door" that doesn't work unless I use the little key inside the fob. I already changed the battery in the fob and it is still doing the same thing.
View 5 RepliesMy drivers door won't unlock and lock sometimes. It goes off and on. And it's starting to do it more often. Sometimes the beep won't make a sound too when I lock it. Only locks with manually putting the key in. I've tried to use my other key but it didn't work.
View 6 RepliesI just purchased a 2012 Prius. I tried to program the all doors are unlocked when the driver's door is opened within 10 seconds after turning the Power switch off. On page 89 of the user manual, it explained how to do it but me and my dealer could get it to work.
View 7 RepliesThe SKS on my 2010 Prius V used to open all doors when I grabbed the door handle but now it only opens the driver's door. I remember seeing somewhere in this forum that this is one of the few driver customizable options (unless it is for Gen II only) and I should be able to make the change on my own.

View 15 RepliesI have the car stored but when I went to start it last week it was dead. Trickle charged the battery and noticed on the cluster my car said the door was open (it was not). I firmly closed it and it the indicator went off, check later and the light came back on. It's likely hardware and not something I can clear so any tips?
View 3 RepliesWent to get into my B7 this AM and the outside door handle won't open the car. You pull on the handle, and nothing. It pulls out like normal, but acts as though it's not connected to anything. After getting in the passengers door and crawling over the console , the inside door handle moves maybe an inch, and then stops, feeling like something is jammed. Just made an appointment with the dealer, and he said they've had a few problems with the cables inside the door that controls the handles and latch.

View 15 RepliesI drive a 2004 Ford Ranger. When I use the remote to unlock my truck, there is a grinding electrical sound, and the driver side door does not unlock. The passenger side does, though. Also, when I try to use my key to unlock the door, the driver's side door will not unlock with the key. I can open the driver's side door from the inside by using the handle, but the electric lock button will not unlock the door. It seems like the piece that pops up when the truck is unlocked has a hard time raising to unlock the door. Neither my boyfriend nor I can figure out what the problem is. I find that when I take my truck in for any problem, people at the dealership try to take advantage of the fact that I'm female and don't know much about cars. Need to know what is going on before I take it in anywhere to get fixed.
View 1 RepliesHave started seeing an issue on my 2012 about few months already and the dealer could not even diagnose it because it is intermittent.
Sometimes when I arm the alarm, I can hear the actuators/solenoids cycle, but there is no single beep and the driver's door invariably remains unlocked. Repeated press of the arm button on the fob would not change, i.e. vehicle remains unarmed and driver's door remains unlocked. All the other doors are unaffected.
I can cycle through by pressing unlock once or twice, then the next relocking press would work. This is worrisome if I didn't pay attention to the beep and thought the vehicle is locked while in fact it was not, this could also happen when the vehicle is at the dealership as the porter would think pressing the button would have locked the vehicle.
1996 K2500 Sub. My driver's door inside handle broke. I can get just the handle, or the whole inside unit w/handle for about the same price. Any difference in installation? One easier than the other?
