View 11 RepliesThis might sound like a stupid question, but how should the climate control operate in cold weather when set to auto?
I have a 2011 screw, when its cold out, and I start the truck, cold air blows out of the front defroster when the climate control is set to auto.
The fan on my previous ford vehicles would not function till the engine reached operating temp. Then the fan would turn on and blow warm air to the lower vents.
I woke up to a dead battery this morning .. And the other day I realized that my climate fans were still running even after the car was completely off.. It's really strange I'm not sure what the issue could be, but not only that! I can adjust to any temp, throw on the a/c and no matter what it's blowing out hot hot hot...
View 4 RepliesI sometimes pulloff after a minute then Im off, but slowly until the engine temp gets to the middle. I won't go caveman on it until the oil temp is almost in the middle too (never quite gets to the middle for the engine oil temp)
Is this logic right? Lexus guy told me it'll warm up as you go. If it was like zero degrees out then yes Id let it idle for 10-15 minutes.
Winter is coming and I am running into a problem, I tried to set my heat at the highest level today and was getting nothing but cold air. I get ice cold A/C, but no heat at any temperature. What could be the culprit?
View 9 RepliesSeems like sometimes on cold start ups the car hesitates before it fires up. Thoughts?

I noticed on cold start , when I start to accelerate (usually i push down maybe 20-30% on the peddle. not WOT) i noticed when the tranny shifts from 1st to 2nd there is a sudden jerk that feels like a slip in the tranny.
you can hear and see the RPM shoot from like 3k to ~4.5k (during the shift) and back down to less than 3k on the 2nd gear.
This only happens when the engine started from a cold start and accelerating at a moderate pace. After a minute or two , i start moving from a full stop and it doesn't do it anymore. I have a 2008 model.
Had my JoeZ exhaust installed at my first oil change at the dealership about a month ago.
Anyway, late last week I noticed on cold start in the morning I'm getting a metallic vibration noise. This is on gentle acceleration out of my subdivision. It disappears within a minute or less and doesn't re-occur until the next morning. Best way I can describe the sound is a cell phone set to vibrate sitting on an aluminum cookie sheet.
Any hints on what I can check that might be the culprit? I already checked to see if the muffler tips are hitting the exhaust diffusers but they're clearing and I can reach up around the canisters and fit my hand up around them so they're not touching that silver heat shield material.
So I got my 2010 ISF last year around this time.... I never noticed anything a possible heat problem... So basically I've noticed that when ever I stop at red lights or at idle, my heat turns cold?
Temp is at high and the AC light is off too... When ever I drive it warms up again and works like a champ... But at idle or stopped it's completely cold....
It's scaring me.... My car is certified still I believe, this problem should be covered since it's internal?
Recently my Climate Control System on Gen 3 has been misbehaving. A few weeks ago, I could not get cold air out of the AC, and then just as quickly as it stopped working, it started working again. Then yesterday, I started noticing coolant temps on the Scan Gauge rising to 215 - 220 F, which seemed quite a bit higher than the 195 limit I had set for operating with grill blocking, so I turned on the Heater and brought it down to 195, and when I got home, I checked and the coolant level seems OK, and it was under pressure.
View 6 RepliesLately, in my 2004, with the climate control OFF, and recirculate setting OFF (outside air selection), I seem to still be getting cold air in thru the vents. The air flow selections are all working appropriately between defroster, feet, vent. When I select the OFF button, the fan stops but the last selected air flow stays highlighted - and the OFF button is still black (or, unselected).
QUESTION - I swear I remember the OFF button highlighting when turning the climate control OFF. Am I just imagining this or could it be the source of my air leak? Is your climate control OFF button highlighted when you turn your climate control off. I need a reality check.
I have a 2005 GX470 with no navigation. I found out last night while traveling to NYC that the climate is not blowing warm air from the passenger side and rear climate controls, no matter how hot I turn the temperature controls. My passengers are freezing, But my side blows nice warm air.
View 1 RepliesJust picked up my 2015 IS 350 F Sport two days ago. Really got to take it out for the first extended drive today. The drivers side temperature controls seem to be increasing and decreasing on their own.
View 8 RepliesI just leased a 2014 XLE Touring. Car has been great so far but I noticed sometimes that I will have the Auto climate control on and it will shut itself off while I am driving.
Another thing I noticed is after I turn the car off and drive it later, it does not retain the previous climate control settings.
My 2009 Sonata Limited always has the front window defroster come on in cooler temps when the climate control is set to AUTO. This is aggravating since it shouldn't do that. I took it in for service last year at this time and they didn't find anything wrong and I gave up arguing with the dealer about it.
Is there a sensor or something that is out of adjustment? It comes one when the temp is about 40F or lower and you just start the car after it's been sitting cold. I don't notice it so much when I am out on multiple errands.
Another thing that I notice is that I can never just turn the fans on for air circulation when the temps are moderate, not needing A/C or heat. If it turn the fan on, it always seems to blow cold air feeling like the A/C is on, even if it is not in AUTO mode. I complained about the same thing and the dealer said the unit is operating OK.
Is there anyway to adjust the cabin temperature while the fans are off? I like to drive with the vents open but want to adjust the temps up/down without having to turn on the fans.
View 3 RepliesAm I missing something or why when I press the auto climate it would always bump the fan a/c up to maximum speed and never adjust itself? Defeats the purpose of auto climate control.
View 8 Replies2014 F150 FX4. The climate control recirculation door will not stay on. It will switch to fresh air by itself. When its cold outside if I set the climate temp to 75 deg. and system on auto with recirculation on, after a few min or so it will change to fresh air. At first I thought that maybe its normal for the auto system. So, I set it to manual mode, 75 deg. floor vents on med to low speed blower with recirculation on. And the same thing happens. There is no rime or reason to when it will switch.
Sometimes it seem to change more after stopping at a stop sign or after changing the seat heater temp, but I can't make it happen. It will happen most times in a 15 mile trip about three times. I took it to the dealer and they had the vehicle all day and said that it is normal. They said that Ford lets their recirc door do what ever they want depending on the temp. even in manual mode.
I have a 2000 yukon and the climate control stopped working. The defrost works just fine but the heater/ac stopped working nothing blows out from my vents when ac/heater setting is on. I checked all fuses and wires and everything is ok and connected. I just replaced my cd player and the next day climate control stopped working. I went back and checked the wireing of the cd player as well, everything is fine. Would i need a new climate control, or senser or is there a fuse on the heater itself.
View 1 RepliesI just purchased a 2014 Avalon XLE Touring. One thing that seems to be a slight problem is the A/C setting. To get the car to cool down I have to turn the setting down to about 66 to make it comfortable and I know it is not 66 degrees in the car. Is there some way to calibrate the temp reading?
View 14 RepliesCan I use the remote climate control switch to heat the cabin during cold mornings as well as cool the cabin during hot summer days?
