There is a problem in radio of my 2008 Hyundai Sonata. The radio display illuminates but does not display anything. But sometimes it displays ok magically then again problem appears. All the buttons are working and sound is ok.
But, a week ago radio stopped working at all. When i press on/off button, nothing happens. Only once in 2-3 days it works for some hours then again turns off.
Stock FM/CD/SAT radio that came with my Sonata, AM stopped working intermittently while FM and XM both still worked. Upgraded the radio to JVC with Bluetooth and found that AM still does not work. FM works fine as well as all other functions.
View 2 RepliesMy 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited dimension radio (no nav or touch screen) is not working the display stopped working with no sound coming from the radio. It was cold one night and i shut the car off ran inside turned it back on and then came back out to start it and no sound then next day it came back on then shut back off. and no turn on 3 months later. I only had the car a year this Feb 2016 & of course they are saying nothing can be done. It'll be one thing if the radio just didn't turn on but my display is completely blank. No light no nothing. What was the result?
View 4 RepliesOver a period of several months, my 2008 Tucson began experiencing a series symptoms, which at the time, I didn't realize were related:
The stereo would occasional freeze up. It would still play, but the volume or channels couldn't be adjusted without restarting the vehicle. The washer fluid motor stopped working. This was a continuous failure.The check airbag light came on and stayed on.
One morning, several months after the first symptom appeared, I went outside to find the hazard lights turning on and off randomly. The car would not start. I had the battery tested. It was drained, but not defective. After putting the charged battery in , the car still would not start. I had it towed to the dealer.
Immediately after the car was taken off the tow truck, it started, the check engine light was off and the washer fluid motor was working. The diagnostic computer found no codes. The dealer cleaned and reattached the ground strap, and replaced the airbag pods as a precaution.
The car ran fine for several months, but then the radio and check airbag light problem started to appear again.
I took it to my regular mechanic this time. He could not find anything wrong, but gave me a new battery to try as a troubleshooting measure.
After a few months, the problems are now starting again.
The battery in my LX died, as a result my radio stopped working and my seat heater lights were flashing.
After replacing the battery radio is all good. Passenger side seat heater and ventilator no longer turns on (going to check the fuses tonight).
But the driver's side is very peculiar. At first it was working as expected then all of a sudden the light started flashing but the cooling / heating still works. Even with the system off those the lights flash and sometimes there is heat when the system is off.
This doesn't seem like a fuse issue in this case, seems like a relay.
I have a 2008 Honda Odyssey. I purchased the van used back in February with 34,000 miles on it. About a week after I bought it, the van started having odd electrical problems. My radio controls on the wheel would stop working, my rear wiper would start running even though it is in the off position. My power sliding doors would catch and close at the half way point on both sides at the same time. It is little odd ball stuff, but I am worried that the "brain" is not working properly. I have taken it to the dealer multiple times and of course they can't find the problem. They say to bring it back if it keeps happening, which I do, but every time they say it is fine and send me on my merry little way.

View 10 RepliesThe rubber (insulator?) around the antenna mast was seriously compromised, I noticed, when it was removed for a car wash (an infrequent occurrence). The radio worked occasionally after that.
Then I had a minor water leak through the vent system due to a blocked drainage lip on the particulate filter. The floor was soaked, causing the alarm to go off without warning (now dried and working correctly), but the radio stopped altogether if i remember correctly.
Then the wipers stopped working when it rained (they worked when dry). Replaced the wiper motor, and lo and behold, the radio works again sometimes - when it's dry out. obviously, i need to replace the antenna mast. Will this correct it?
My 2006 Hyundai Tiburon is having issues with the AC not working when the car is idling. In addition to the AC not blowing cold air, the engine is running hot, almost overheating,however when I get up to speed and start moving again the engine cools back down and the AC blows perfectly. I can smell the sweet smell of antifreeze coming from some where when I get out of the car and I can see that it is leaking under the hood somewhere but I don't see anything on the ground. What is going on?

View 3 RepliesI have a 2005 Volvo V50.The radio and CD changer will not come on when you push on. There is no display for the radio & CD player. There is dispaly for the heating & cooling systems. The speaker settings have dispaly. It is not a fuse. I had them checked. I just got up one morning and it would not work.
View 12 RepliesI have a 2003 Toyota Sienna. The radio has stopped working. All other electrical parts of the car appear to be in fine working order. I found the Radio-No.2 fuse (7.5A) beneath the dash and replaced it with the working 7.5A (working) turning signal with no luck. (The radio fuse DID work when placed in the turning signal fuse slot). So it cannot be this fuse.
Is there a Radio-No.1 fuse? Unfortunately, this car did not come with a owners manual. If so where would I find it?Or could this be a different problem? What else should I look for.
Recently I had an overheating problem with 98 Montana Transport. I had the fan motors replaced because they weren't turning. That didn't solve the problem tho, it overheated again, it had been slowly losing coolant. Mechanic had the heads repaired (were warped) and replaced head gasket, manifold gasket, valve cover gasket and drained replaced fluids and had plug wires and sparkplugs replaced also.
When he brought it back the radio wasn't working. I know that's not a mechanical problem, but why it's not working. I asked him and he said he's a mechanic and doesn't know about radios. He did say that it might have something to do with the anti theft system, but I don't have a clue how to reset. Since the van is older, where could I find out about the codes for resetting? He checked the fuses too.
So I took my 2005 Corolla this morning to get it detailed at a Eco Detailing place. They use steam instead of water. When I picked it up it looked good and I left. On the way home I went to turn on the radio and nada. No lights, no sound. The rest of my dashboard was working fine. So I called the place and told the main dude what happened. He said this happens sometime when the doors of the car are left open for three - four hours. He said give it a couple of days and the radio would reset. I'm pretty doubtful. I have all the windows down in the car to dry out any left over humidity.

He stopped for gas, turned the car off and the radio was working again when he restarted the car. Is this normal or could he have a more serious electrical or computer problem
View 3 Replies2005 Camry LE. My aftermarket radio stopped working with some crackly noise occasionally. Then it started working occasionally. It had been working for several years. Popped the original radio/cd player into the spot while I figured out what I wanted to replace it with. CD player didn't work on the original, put it had been stored in the garage for years. Now, the original radio has gone out with what was described as a horrendous noise. So, what do you think? A short in the wires somewhere?
View 2 RepliesYesterday (3/28/12) my Radio Data System (RDS) feed suddenly stopped working on one of the radio stations I listen to on my car radio. Until it stopped, it identified the title and artist of the song I was listening to as well as the station. It still worked on other radio stations, and it worked on other radio stations this morning (3/29/12). Then the RDS feed suddenly stopped working on every station, and now no RDS information appears on my car radio screen at all. What could have possibly happened?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata SE XM (153K miles). The speedometer and odometer have quit working completely. The speedometer doesn't even move from zero, no bouncing around or anything. The odometer also is not logging miles. My transmission shifts gears just fine and the cruise control works as well. I bought an OBD-II scanner and no codes came up. My first thought was maybe the vehicle speed sensor, but everything I've found on that say the car will shift poorly and the speedometer bounces around.
View 4 RepliesI have 2008 Hyundai Sonata. The TPMS light has been on for months. Not the little round tire low light...this is the actual letters TPMS. I have had issues in the past with the low pressure light coming on with weather temp changes which were quickly remedied by putting air in the tires. After several new tire purchases the low level light would come on when I left the store and as I drove out and drove a little while they would go off and stay off. I have had tire centers break the sensors and have to replace them. After the last one they reset the sensor, however some time later the TPMS letters came on and will not go off. No one can seem to fix it permanently. The Hyundai dealer service center tells me it's a tire center problem.
View 1 RepliesMy Hyundai Sonata 2008 vibrates when driving at 40 km/h. Steering wheel doesn't shake, only car vibrates. And this happens regardless of pressing gas pedal or not. Front wheels are balanced(as the car is front wheel drive) yesterday but no success.
View 4 RepliesI was uber excited to update the Entunes system after the app updated itself on my phone (Nexus 6). I was looking forward to the iHeartRadio update, since I didn't understand the ability to listen to radio stations from other locales before. The update was supposed to allow you to listen to artist stations though, and pick up from where you left off if you were previously listening on desktop or mobile. However, I have not been able to connect to the app ever since the update, and it never establishes a successful connection.
I don't entirely care for Pandora since their algorithms leave you listening to the same blend over and over, and their ads are not customized and annoying, and although I'm playing with the new Slacker addition, I'd like to utilize the iHeartRadio function too. For now, I'm mostly using Google Play Music or Songza over Bluetooth.
