View 3 RepliesI have a new 2015 Accord. After a recent rain storm I found about an inch of water in the well where the spare tire is stored. I took it to the dealer and they ran numerous leak tests but could not reproduce the problem.
Since the car was parked during the storm, I don't see how the water could have gotten in there except via one of the light assemblies or by getting past the gasket. In other words, it wasn't blown up into the trunk from the roadway. The puzzler is that the carpet in the car was dry when I found the water. I googled this for hours and I don't find others with 2015 trunk leak complaints. All the complaints are for earlier model Accords.
I have a Toyota Aygo which leaks water into the passenger side foot space, so that when it rains, about 2 inches of water collects where the passengers feet would be.
It's been in to the dealer three times to fix, they replace the door seals but it seems to me that the rain isn't coming in via the door or window, but up through the floor somehow, ie seems to come up through the carpet suggesting it's coming in from somewhere else!
Water is getting into my car (1995 Accord LX) somewhere around the driver and back seat door. This causes the carpet on the driver's floor and back seat on the driver side to be wet. It only happens when it rains, so I think its a broken seal, or water is not draining properly.
I've tried spraying water on the car to see if I can figure out where its getting in, but no luck.
Two things are going on with my car. First, when I drive at freeway speeds and turn on the heater, the car temperature drops and then I hear the sound of a tea kettle going off. Second, I hear an off and on sound coming from under the hood on the passenger side. It sounds like metal scratching on metal or like a soft whistle sound. 1997 Honda Accord LX
View 3 RepliesI drive a 2009 Honda Fit (and I am very happy with it). Last week, after some intense rain last week in Greenville, NC, out of the corner of my eye I noticed that there was a puddle of water on the floor of the passenger's side. I looked for a cracked window or maybe a leak from the windshield, but I couldn't see anything; besides, the floor was the only part that was wet (the dashboard, the seat, and the inside of the door were completely dry). Today I took the car in for an oil change to the local Honda dealer and I mentioned the issue to them, and asked whether they could take a look at it. They did and they said they could not find a leak anywhere. Where the water might come from? Is this common? How to prevent it from happening again?
View 7 RepliesMy Element sputters and/or stalls after driving through standing water in the roadway as during a heavy rain. Not really deep water, just normal roadway puddles and gutter overflow. Does not happen in light rain, but has happened after a car wash with an undercarriage wash. Feels like the car is running out of gas, sputtery, no response when giving it gas, may or may not stall. After driving a few minutes, the problem goes away.
Two mechanics, including the dealer, have looked at it and can find no obvious reason, but of course it never exhibits the problem at the shop. Both mechanics say this could be umpteen different causes.
I've only owned the car about 10 mos (purchased used through dealer with warranty, one owner, clean carfax, pristine maintenance) and this has happened maybe 5-6 times. ~112k miles.
Every time it rains the back hatch of my 95 Honda Odyssey fills with water. I can drain most of it through the key latch, but there are several gallons of water in there. What do I need to do? What is the entire back hatch has to be replaced.

View 19 RepliesMy 2008 Honda Accord 's dashboard Engine Malfunction Light got lit. I have driven a further 4 kilometers and stopped at a lube station and found that oil level is a little low.
Did an engine flush and refilled with synthetic oil. The MFL light is gone after a minute of starting and it stayed out.
Now the problem that I am facing is poor gas mileage. I can literally see the fuel guage going down while driving . A full tank now gets me around 200 KM rather than 550-600 which I usually get.
Google search suggested an ECU reset. Is this safe ? or should the car need to go to the service station?
I own a 1994 Honda Accord with 200,000+ miles on it. Suddenly the Dashboard controls stopped working, and the shift lever wont shift out of Park unless I manually force it to shift by inserting key in to the slot beside the shift lever. I suspect it has something to do with the brake fuse. Where the break fuse is located.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2008 Honda Accord that about 4 months ago the drl light on the dashboard would come on for a few seconds and then go off. This happened 2 or 3 times a week. During this time the driver side drl light would also quit working. A couple of weeks later it progressed to the drl dashboard light would come on, then the tpms dashboard light would also come on. After an intermittent period of time (seconds to minutes) the icon showing low tire pressure would flash for a second and the drl light and tpms light would go off. This happened maybe 3 times in a day, then not happen again for a week or so. Air pressure in all tires was correct. About week ago it progressed to the drl dashboard light and the tpms dashboard light stay on all the time and neither the drl light (drl mode or high beam or will work on the driver side. In the past few days the low beam on the driver side has also quit working.
View 1 RepliesWhen it rains or snows, the floor only of my 86 Civic Si hatchback ends up soaked, sometimes standing water. There is no visible leak anywhere, no water leaking in anywhere obvious. It's just the floor, the water seems to come up from beneath the carpet. Replaced windshield, didn't work. The car is otherwise in great shape, I bought in new in 1986.
View 5 RepliesThe carpeted footrest on the left driver's side of my C has a bubbled/raised area on the left side, which causes my foot to roll inward uncomfortably. It feels wrong but it doesn't really look wrong, so I don't want to waste a trip over to the dealership if the area was just poorly designed. Do footrest accommodates the whole foot comfortably or if there is a raised area under the pinky toes? I'll see if I can get a picture.
View 4 Replies2005 Honda Accord. I have been experiencing a loss of electricity to my dashboard - the radio cuts out, tach and speedometer needles drop, sometimes warning lights come on. I don't think I have experience a loss of power with this but when it happens, it lasts less than a second.
I can go days of driving without issue. Then, in one drive it may happen four or five times. I hate the idea of taking it into the dealer on an intermittent electrical issue. That could be a real bank drain.
How to remove the left foot rest? Mine moves around slightly and makes a creaking sound when it does. I am thinking that if I can remove it, I can clean it up, lube it, and put it back on. But I don't want to just give it a tug and snap something off.
View 4 RepliesAs stated in the title, I've been experiencing a creaking/groaning noise originating from the dead pedal/foot-rest area when I release the clutch as I'm accelerating from first gear. This happens more so when I'm accelerating from a stop on any sort of incline (irrespective of the grade) and primarily in the afternoon/early evening when the weather's at its warmest for the day.
The noise itself originated about a month ago. Although I describe it as a creaking/groaning it sometimes sounds like a slight metal on metal friction noise.
My car's stock with the exception of Driver Gear springs and a BSH 27mm sway bar in the rear. Wheels are OEM 16s. I've had the DG springs on my car for about 3 months before this noise began and mileage was around 9,900Km.
We had almost 2 inches of rain in less than 20 minutes at 1:15, and at 2:00. I went to leave work and took a bath. Water poured out of the top gauge in the pillar pod. Where should I do a close look. Door seal, or windshield gasket?
I pealed back both at 2:45 and did not see anything on the top of the door seal. The top of the windshield gasket is a little open 4 inches in from the corner, but when i pealed it up a little it looked dry.

Recently my car has been making a little too much noise from the water pump. It doesn't happen immediately, it happens after the car has driven for a while. for example, I have an hour commute to work and today the sound was noticeable during the last 5-10 min when I turned the radio down to check. This is similar to other instances in the past week or so. I opened the hood and saw the point that had the sound, checked online and found it was the water pump. Also when I looked under the hood today I noticed my power steering fluid was right at the min level, I will be refilling that of course. What should I do to diagnose this issue?
Additional note: I was told there was some water dripping from my car, but thought little of it since I had been using the A/C that day and the humidity was a bit high.
My current plan of action is to refill the power steering fluid, see if that removes the noise. I will also put a cardboard under the car engine to see if it catches any fluids shortly after I park. Just in case there is a leak somewhere in the system.
On my 2002 Camry 4cyl I get a water flushing sound on start up sometimes after the car has been stationary and sometimes on turns after sitting at a light,etc. I've searched the threads and found some .. for my problem where it's suggested that I get the coolant system flushed because air is in the line. I've checked with several Toyota dealerships and some say that Toyota doesn't do nor do they recommend flushes anymore. They only do drain & fill now.
First question: 1.Is that accurate and will a drain & fill fix my problem? 2. Is the Toyota dealership the only place that has the proper machinery to do a flush or can I go to any repair shop to get it done? 3. Could I do the flush myself using the Prestone flush kit & a water hose and achieve the same results as the dealership using the machinery?
We have a '99 Honda Accord EX. When it rains hard, water collects in the rear right taillight. We also have an electrical short somewhere - occasionally the lights on the heater/AC controls don't work, and the heat or AC will be stuck on the last setting we used until the lights come back on again. I finally put the two together the other day, after I realized that we don't get the short when it has not been raining.
I have three questions -
(1) In order to fix the water in the taillight problem, does that require replacing the entire housing unit, or is there a cheaper fix?
(2) If the housing does need to be replaced, is this something I could do without screwing it up? I used to do my own maintenance, but that was over 20 years ago, and I haven't even done my own oil changes since then.
(3) Is it possible that the water problem is what is causing the short in the electrical system?
