Can the volume of the beep during locking the car be adjusted using VAGCOM? After 2.5 years of ownership it's getting a little annoying.

View 7 RepliesMy jetta. It is a 2001 2.0. I was wondering how to get the car to "Beep" after you lock the car. The car has never done it since I bought it...The trunk is closed so i know that is not the reason....what are some other reasons that would cause me to lose that friendly beep?
View 7 RepliesHow come this isn't in the MFD settings? I hate my horn beeping when I lock the doors. So are we able to set this to not beep? I think on the MKV it was under ATA settings or something.
View 24 RepliesI only have one thing I want to change on our new GTI (which happens to be the ONLY thing I miss from our A3).
When we locked the A3, it gave a nice, short, clean, electronic "beep." However, locking the GTi generates a mildly annoying, and just-a-bit-too-loud "honk."
Is there any way to make the GTI "beep?" Is it as simple as coding, or does it require an add on part to actually make that noise?
So I have an 05 MK4 GLI, my alarm has not worked since the day I got it. Hold the alarm button on the fob, no luck. when I lock or unlock the car, the lights don't flash and the horn doesn't beep. My ex had an 03 GLS 2.0, alarm/lock/unlock worked without a problem, so why mine doesn't work.
View 7 RepliesJust purchased a Prius III a week ago, like it so far. But one thing I have not figured out is how to adjust the rear speakers volume. My Prius has a JBL system, the two front speaks are quite strong, but the rear ones are not. On my other car, Camry, the volume can be easily adjusted to make either the front or rear speakers loud / light / balanced. How to do this in Prius? I believe it must be capable of doing such a basic thing, right?
View 5 RepliesWeird ... just a low volume beep, no dash lights or error codes. Thought it may be the radio, but happens with radio off as well.
View 21 RepliesI was busy playing with my license plate lights over the weekend and came across how to reduce the beep volume when opening the rear hatch when using the remote or indash power door button. I'm not sure if this has been discovered before but thought I would post in case no one knows about it.
I have done this mod on my car and I haven't had any adverse effects and everything works perfectlyfine (no new lights, errors or anything else). It doesn't get rid of the noise, but it does reduce it down to the same volume as when you unlock/lock your car. Open your rear power door
Carefully pry away the bottom section of the interior panel of the rear door (this will be the side furthest away from the rear window glass). The trim is held in place by plastic clips that will pop out. A gentle but firm tug will remove the first one and the rest will just follow as you work your way around.
Once this is open look on the end side of the door. You will notice a black box with one end being rounded. There will be a plug that fits into this. Remove the plug and stow away. I stowed mine back behind the part of the loom it extends from to keep it out the way
Put the trim back and enjoy that annoying beep now being a lot quieter. The rest of the beep is at the front of the car and looks to hide somewhere underneath the shroud of the wiper blades where the front struts sit. It looks to be from the same area as the speaker for the alarm, so probably won't be able to completely kill the noise.
I persuaded my dealer to do it. He gave me a verbal warning it was defeating a safety issue, but now there's just one beep but the light still flashes.
View 1 RepliesRight next to the tire pressure monitoring reset button (situated above the gas and brake pedals) there is a knob that when turned all the way right will click as if it was in an "off" position. What is this knob for? After doing a search, someone posted it is for volume control of the door locking chirp noise. Does it have any other function, or is this its real function at all? I didn't test it yet.
View 11 RepliesSo i think I'm loosing my mind but i could swear that when i got my Pri V it beeped and locked doors once when i would touch the door handle or remote. For some reason now it locks the doors twice and no beep on locking. It also locks the doors twice whenever i put it in drive now also. Is this normal?
View 8 RepliesMy fob doesn't close my driver door there for it doesn't beep. So I did some searching and I didn't find anything beyond just slamming the door which i did and it didn't fix it. I took the door apart and i couldn't take the inner metal panel to inspect the lock. How to take the inner metal panel out?
View 1 RepliesHow I can disable the horn toot each time I want to lock the car? The lights flashing is sufficient I think.
View 14 RepliesSo I'm gunna change my horn. I know where it's located, but what I was wondering was is there a way to make the car beep when locking and unlocking? While still having a horn. Is there a special kind of horn that makes it beep during those situations and then actually honks when u hit the steering wheel?
View 7 RepliesIs there a way to get the vehicle to honk or beep when locking the car with the remote? I tried single click, double click, and triple click on the lock button and the lights flight, but no audible feedback. Is this really not an option? I checked my horn, it works.
View 24 RepliesI locked my 2013, and noticed there was a delay in the single beep when I locked it, Weird, went on with my day. I just tried to lock it again, and there was no beep or signal light flash. I tried my other FOB, same thing. Unlocking works just fine. I tried turning the car on and back off again, no dice.
View 2 RepliesI used to have other car that used to make a loud beep upon locking. My prius 2010 III is bit nimble and social. It blinks and makes a little chirp. I would rather need a loud beep so to locate and ensure my car is locked especially in noisy environments.
View 4 RepliesIs it possible for me to enable the beep when locking the car?
The manual says it should be there by default so I expect that it has been turned off. If it is a short beep, I would like to have it back.
Will I be able to do this once I get my SG2 working with my 2007 Prius (European) ?
Having this problem? What to check?
View 13 RepliesRecently, my Prius has been randomly giving me the single, long warning beep when I try to lock it by touching the handle. The car is definitely not still on, and the key is in my pocket when it happens. I've checked the doors, and none are ajar. It's not 100% consistent, but happens about 50-75% of the time. When it happens, I can lock the car with the key or keyfob - but touching the handle just gets me the long beep and no lock.
