Topped off my windshield washer bottle because I was out of juice and now after filling it nothing is coming out how do you remove the bottle to check it. I think something is clogged in a line.

Just got in the car and the washer fluid low warning popped up on the dash. As I'm refilling it and get towards the washer bottle being full I see it leaking out the bottom of the car. The car hasn't had any impacts and it's mild here at the moment so the bottle hasn't frozen and cracked but seems to have just started out the blue. Otherwise, swap the washer bottle? I seem to recall seeing it when replacing one of my horns and can't imagine it's much of a job but you never know!

I currently have summer washer fluid in my 2003 Toyota Echo's windshield washer fluid tank. I need to replace this with winter washer fluid within the next few days before the temperature goes below freezing.
When I pop open the hood, I see that the bottle is located on the left hand side of the engine bay. The bottle has a black cap with a picture of a fountain (wiper spray).
I have no experience working on the mechanics of a car. However, I would like to know the easiest way of replacing my summer wiper fluid with winter wiper fluid. The tank is currently full with the summer washer fluid.
a) How do I go about emptying the bottle completely without removing it?
b) If I need to remove the bottle and then empty it completely, how do I do this and what tools do I need?

So this morning I go out to my GTI to start up and release the E-Brake and the lever barely goes down and feels Squishy/Crunchy like your smashing a plastic water bottle. It rained last night and it was a bit cold (by So Cal standards, around 50 F, I know, we're all little schoolgirls in So Cal about the weather.)
So I raise and release the E-brake lever several more times and it gets a little better but not really. I manually push the lever down all the way to make sure the Brake light is not on and then drive to work. When I get to work and pull on the E-brake, it is fine. I raise and lower the lever a few more times and no sticky.
Of course, where I park the GTI faces a row of glass windows and I realize every time I raised and lowered the E-Brake this morning the HID DRL's were turned on and off several times, probably killing my HID's ....

So i need to replace my windshield washer reservoir because i hit something/bottomed out really hard under my front lip which cracked the reservoir along with the horn, and a few plastic pieces in that area. Any DIY on replacing it? It seems like i need to take off the bumper cover and then it should be straight forward... I already have the lower grille off so i can access the reservoir just not seeing how its mounted...

I have these two items removed and before I hit the road with the car I would like to get these damn sensors outta my cluster. What ohm resistors I need for each item? I lost my meter and would really like to not buy another.

I changed my oil for the first time last weekend and all went well, except that i could not remove the washer from the drain plug. I got a new one from the parts counter along with a filter. the new washer definitely had a larger diameter than the one that was on the plug. I re-used the washer on the plug and re-checked things tonight. no leaks - so i should be OK. Maybe I'll just pick up a new drain plug next time...

My rear washer fluid sprayer has always been pretty weak. I figured there was probably a leak in the line somewhere. When I adjusted my rear view mirror the other day, I saw some washer fluid leaking out of the roof liner by the driver side c-pillar. I've been having some trouble finding a good DIY on removing the c-pillar cover and patching/replacing the line, I'm hoping this will be a pretty easy fix. This is as far as I've managed to get on my own. Not far at all. Yes, that is the driver side. PhotoBooth reverses the image, since it's predominately used for face shots.

I removed my washer fluid reservoir and saw that I can just twist together the wires and it would keep my light off. That lasted a few days. And now the light is on. I tried soldering them to see if it was a bad connection but still the light is still on. How I can get it off?

My rear windshield washer has stopped working, does the MkVI have a separate pump for the front and rear washer fluid sprayers? My front sprayer is still working, fluid is full, and I don't see any VCDS codes relating to the rear windshield washer motor. Since I am approaching a wet season, it would be best if the rear washer worked. I am still under warranty but just wanted to know if there are two sprayer pumps on our cars.
FWIW, I have not had a problem with the rear washer dripping and no TSB have been performed on the rear washer.

I've got a MkV R32, and I had an '07 GTI before it. I never had this problem with my GTI, but with the R32, the rear wiper jet had become clogged, and then started moving from it's 12 o'clock position to 9 o'clock with the wiper arm when in use.
I replaced the jet last week, which seemed to solve part of the clog issue, but the jet/nozzle, still moves. I am going to try popping the rear hatch cover off today to try and see what if there's an issue there, (I suspect there is, as I have washer fluid leaking through the hatch latch still, MkV R32.
I suspect there is a buildup of residue on something that it dragging on the new nozzle. I don't want to mess something up....

My washer fluid leaked out of the bottom of the reservoir and I would like to pull the fuse because it keeps beeping it is low. obviously. I do not have a rear wiper as it is shaved so #27 fuse is out and I was wondering if I pulled # 24 if that would stop the damn sensor or if I can pull something else, maybe just unplug it from the reservoir. I find myself using it never so I wont be fixing it anytime soon.

To me it sounds like a windshield washer sprayer trying to squirt w/o any fluid or a print head moving and hitting the end and try for a brief second to keep moving. I notice it when I first turn on the car and it is about every 8 ish seconds. Tried to capture it but it is too faint to pick up on cam. 2011 Gti, 39k

So my windshield washer fluid sensor popped on a couple of months ago, checked fluid (was full), I concluded that it was a failed sensor. I ordered a new one from ECS, put in last wknd, and finally: the low-level warning light disappeared. A few days later, I was adding some fluid into the reservoir (it was a new bottle and had no funnel) and I spilled a few drops. The spilled amount seemed to drop near the sensor plug, but didn't think it was a big deal. Went into work, came out later to head home, and you guessed it: the low-level light came back on (with a FULL reservoir).
I removed the plug yesterday, blew it out, but it didn't change a thing. Anyway, is it possible the sensor shorted because somehow some of the fluid go into the connection? If I hookup the vagcom, will I be able to tell if there is an issue (I know it didn't before when the first sensor failed). Is there even a fuse for the fluid sensor?

During the removal of my hood. I've broken my fluid line for the windshield washer. Not sure how to replace or if this is able to go back in my hood, I've searched and have fallen short to a decent answer.

Have a 2011 Golf TDI hatchback. Located in Toronto, Canada where it's about - 20 Celsius with windchill today. Currently have no washer fluid coming through the front or rear nozzles. Thought I was out of fluid but tank is full. Tried piercing the nozzles but nothing changed and they don't look blocked. Don't think it's the weather either as my car is parked in my garage overnight. When I try to spray I can hear the mechanism trying to spray but nothing comes out.
