I am getting tint done soon, I had thought I read this a long time ago but I couldn't remember, does tinting our windows require interior trim removal or not?

View 11 RepliesI am trying to figure out the best way to wire something from the ash tray area to the fuse box. Removing the trim is simple enough by the steering wheel, but I can't find how to remove the trim that surrounds the center console on the driver's side. Any pointers?
View 3 RepliesTrying to remove all the lower trim on the dashboard. Have everything but the lower right portion on the drivers side. The carbon trim on there seems to be tucked under the upper part of the dashboard itself and I can't remove it. I assume there is one final screw under there?
I can pop it loose a bit on the left corner but feel if I force that trim something is going to break.
I had my starter replaced today and now am hearing some weird rattling sounds coming from front tires. Do you need to remove any of the tires to get to the starter? I thought I read that somewhere.
View 2 RepliesA lot of sections of the highway I frequently use is now repaved. Even on smooth looking highway sections, I feel vibration (bumping feel) from the seat and/or floor (also a little from steering). My hip and/or legs feel vibration.
I road force balanced wheels once, and then ordinarily balanced once again. I still feel vibration. I drove the same highway with 2012 Hyundai Veloster and 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback. With those cars, the drive is smooth (no vibration) on smooth looking highway.
2012 Golf TDI is my first car with sports suspension.
How to remove the chrome trim around the fog lights and the chrome bars beside them I have a 2014 SE
View 2 RepliesHow the black trim on the bottom of the front bumper of a 2011 Elantra GLS is removed . I am talking about the black lip or air dam in the center. Does it just pull off or are there clips or something.
View 1 RepliesHow to remove the plastic dash trim on the Passenger side? Is there a way to do this without removing the glovebox? I know there is one screw that needs to be removed. Mine creaks pretty badly. Ive already removed the center console trim and added felt to all those pieces. No more ticks/ creaks.
I guess I could have the dealer remove it but I dont want them taking my glovebox out to do it = more rattles. Why does VW make it so difficult to remove something that should be so simple!!
How to remove the driver side door trim? i need to change my side mirror housing. My is a 2007 gs450h.
View 2 RepliesI may not be searching correctly...? How the back inside trim is removed from the hatch window. I know the handle has the two Torx screws does the trim pull out or are there clips? Don't want to break any plastic parts. I found how to fix the back lock. I found the back barn door trim removal.
View 2 RepliesI have been looking into this for a while and can't really come up with anything. I'm wanting to do away with the wood grain on the doors and replace it with something like brushed aluminum, carbon fiber, or heck even just black....anything besides wood grain! Btw this is on a 2003 ccsb.
View 8 RepliesQuestion: Does the the VAQ differential require regular maintenance/changing of the oil?
I know I've seen this question discussed, but the answer I've always seen was that it does not. I believe that this answer comes from watching the Borg Warner powerpoint video, where the presenter claims the differential is maintenance free.
While reading the Maintenance Service Manual, I noticed that VW does in fact require servicing of the VAQ every three years, and gives the procedure for doing so.
Any tips and tricks on cleaning this? Just did an entire wash clay compound with orbital and a wax. Car looks great for a 12 year old but This area is a bit tricky clay gets stuck in the pores and nothing seems to clean it well. Id like to clay it but its not working well.
View 2 RepliesIs there a way I can find out my trim via VIN. I went to a free website and entered my Vin but it just said "BASE/AUTOBAHN"? I dont see how its an Autoban because no leather seats.
My car has the cloth heated seats, monster mats, golf ball knob, rcd 510, moon roof, power mirrors, steering wheel with functions, bluetooth, Laguna wheels and non xenon headlights (I suppose they are still called halogens) .
I always feel bad for my Prius when I merge onto a highway or have to floor the accelerator pedal to get across an intersection. I feel like it hurts it or something, I know electric motors are durable though, and gas engines are a bit more finicky.
View 12 RepliesBought my R32 in late July. So far I've just been lurking on the board, but today I have a question. I'm having difficulty removing the A-Pillar trim.
View 3 RepliesCar was running. Both rear running lights out.
Intended to pull #9 'stop' fuse. (I did not see #16 'tail' fuse). Instead, pulled #8 'OBD' fuse. Returned the #8 OBD fuse.
Just got a 2004 1.8T wagon, but it didn't have an owners manual. Do I need 91 octane? Is a VW dealer the only place for a spare key? Can you steer me to a catalog for bling (grille) and other mods?
View 12 RepliesExperiencing the black b-pillar trim creak? Just pressing on that black vertical plastic trim causes the plastic sounding "creak".
Just curious... what was the solution? It's driving me nuts.. it is so sensitive that when the car just moves into the sunlight, it starts creaking as it expands in the heat.
I have just purchased a 2000 Passat 1.8 mfg 2/29/2000. I have no keys. I will have to get keys made and want to know if they require special programming. Dealer said its on fence maybe maybe not. Depends on when built. Any other info about what to look for would be nice. I look forward to being able to contribute in the future. For now I'm a newbie.
View 2 RepliesEver since I made my car turbo (UM tune) my long term fuel trim has been stuck in 0. When talking to Tom over at Innovative Motor sports (they were the ones that got my tune done) he stated that I must have my N80 ( Evap Purge Valve) unplugged, except that I didn't. Until recently, I had every single sensor plugged in except for my SAI pump and the flapper solenoid for the exhaust. My LTFT worked fine before and he can't figure out anything else that could be wrong. So before I send back my ECU to see if a refresh will fix it, what else should I look for?
For more info, my gas tank is venting to the atmosphere, I just have the solenoid connected electronically. This worked fine on my 1.8T so I don't see why it should be any different here. My short term fuel trims fluctuate mostly in the -10 range and off idle drivability could improve a little (thought it's not terrible) and I think that if my LTFT's were working right, it would take care of that.
