Okay I noticed that after driving My 32 for a long Period of time 1-2 Hours I Get this Weird Buzzing Sound. I couldn't Pin-point on where the Sound is coming from, but you can hear it clearly coming from the front driver side...

2003 Hyundai accent GL 5spd has new rings/bearings/lifters and all gaskets (when i got the vehicle it over heated to the point it shut off ) figured it was just a head gasket so replaced it found out rings were shot.. so that's the jist of it. okay so she's timed right spot on but when I go crank up the car it cranks over fast and i have to feather the throttle to get it to startup the IAC makes a weird buzzing sound and wouldn't idle right so i unplugged it and it'll idle fine. When it would finally crank up and idle she drives really well put about 20 miles on her so far just the starting issue pissing me off. I'll post a vid of it trying to start for better description...

I noticed the engine was noticeably hot - I drove 28 miles home on my evening commute. 2 hours later the engine is still hot! I'm not worried, just a bit surpised given it is ~55 degrees right now and 2 hours later.
View 19 RepliesI have a 2012 R with 85,000 miles, APR chip running 93 octane with a HPFP and VWR cold air intake. I was driving my car today (slow driving on highest) and all of a sudden I felt no turbo boost, and heard a weird sound whenever I hit the gas. Car moved but would not get above 3500 rpms and couldn't really get past 60 mph. Again, absolutely no boost (I have a boost gauge as well to verify).
About to drop off the car at a shop but had a couple questions:
1. If the turbo is blown, can I still drive the car to the shop (not too far) without damaging the engine itself?
2. if the turbos needs to be replaced, what are my options besides getting the stock turbo replaced, without getting some crazy setup? This is my daily driver and I don't want to spend money beyond what I need to get it fixed, but it there is a stronger more reliable turbo for about the same as a OEM, I would want to consider... Also price for OEM replacement??
3. Without the mechanic looking at it, I'm just assuming it's the turbo but what else could be the issue? All the lines looks intact and intake is fitted correctly. I did have issues with my cam follower getting damaged at 45,000 miles (there was a hole in it) and I have been replacing it every 20,000 miles since. Didn't have any issues for 40,000 additional miles, but could damage to that cause turbo failure?
When I turn off my 2010 Golf TDI it sounds like a jet shutting off. I've had the car for over a year and it just started doing this. Is this just a noisy fan winding down?

For the past week when i go into boost I hear a strange sound, almost like a wet belt sound (everyone knows that annoying sound on old ford on a rainy day) Again it only happens when in boost. When the car idles the noise is gone.

When I accelerate as the car is going to shift, there is a weird noise coming from the back area. It sounds as if it were a bunch of walnut shells being crushed and swished in a coffee can. Is that something that sounds like it could be normal? Today was the first time I drove with the windows down and heard it. I'm wondering if it has always been there... it sounds very loud though. It echos very loudly back into the car from nearby things as I drive by... It sounds to me a lot like when you would take a wind up toy past it's point were you weren't supposed to...

When it started happening it would only occur at very low speeds and then it would stop, now it happens all the time unless i'm turning. I've heard it could be bushings but I'm not sure. What weirds me out is a lot of the time it'll stop either when I'm turning or if I shift into neutral.

My '13 Prius Four has started to make a really annoying buzzing sound from the rear while driving. It can be heard inside the car but seems to be louder for passengers in the rear.

View 24 RepliesI just got a 2001 Jetta 1.8t 100k miles, and had some repairs done - timing belt - K03S Turbo - Forge Tip - 2.5 Turboback Exhaust. I bought the car without a working turbo, yesterday I got the car back from the shop and it was a night and day difference..... but to my point, today I had some CEL's pop - Charge Pressure control positive deviation, Pressure drop between turbo and throttle valve, and secondary Air injection system incorrect flow detected. Now I have never owned a turbocharged car before, but when my windows are rolled up and im accelerating, I can hear what I am guessing is the turbo starting to spin over by my passenger side(2k ish rpms+) except it doesn't have clean spin sounds, kinda sounds like bearings are goofed or something. This noise only happens when I am accelerating or cruising? I also have felt really no change is boost or power!!

I did some searching around on here and found 1 post that refers to this sound, and says it could possibly one of the fuel pumps. Should I bring it in for service..or is this normal?
Also...what is the best intake for a 08 R32, whats some of the best websites to order parts from?
Driving around the other day I had a horrible buzzing rattle behind the drivers seat on my 2013 Golf R with 5000 miles on it. Come to find out when I open the rear door on the driver side I can grab the bottom cushion on the side that faces the door panel and it just lifts up 3 inches as if it is not connected. Is this a normal golf thing? I have never seen a cushion that was this loose in any new car in the past 10 years.

The noise only appeared while driving at various times which lead me to believe it was from local cell towers that I passed during my commute, or when exceeding approximately 55 mph. The noise has since increased in frequency and happens at various speeds. I cannot determine what triggers it or what component it is from.
A local friend of mine just purchased an R32 and he is now noticing the same noise in his car. It is in both of our cars and happens when exceding 40mph. We do not know if it is a model specific issue or caused by a local environmental source (radio, cellular, military).
Description: Electrical buzzing noise. Resembles the sound of when you used to have a cellphone close to a stereo/pc speaker. The noise comes from the dash cluster area. It can be from a spontaneous periodic chirp to a constant pulsing buzz. Very faint, but very annoying.
The sound makes me assume there is electrical interference with the dash warning chime or something to that effect. I even considered the PMS getting/causing radio interference. My friends R32 has a normal TPMS, but my TPMS has been disabled.

Both cars are stock except for the addition of Hockeypucks.

Some testing has lead me to acknowledge it is a vibration issue derived from road surface. It appears to be in the area of the vin plate, but that has yet to be determined as fact.
Installed the wastegate actuator rod rattle clip on their R? I've been getting a buzzing sound under light load in first gear- very audible when it echos off a wall, etc.

I have some sort of electrical/wiring issue with my 2005 GTI Auto transmission. Ever since I've owned the car every now and then, it won't start at all; the clock will reset and so will the trip meter. When this happens, it makes a weird buzzing sound while I'm turning the key, and after I let off, the turn signal will click until I pull the key out. I usually have success starting it after playing with the buttons on the turn signal. All fuses are good, and the battery is always charged, because the stereo and lights will work fine. I'm assuming it's either a short or a problem with the turn signal relay...
View 1 RepliesI just came back from a long weekend and left my 2010 GTI in the garage at home. When I returned the battery was 100% dead. Got a friend to jump it and it refused to start for about 30 minutes. Finally it grudgingly turned over and eventually started. So I drove it around for an hour, came home, turned it off and tried to start it - to see if it had charged at all. Again it turned over very slowly, and eventually started up. Seems very strange that it's so slow to charge.
So now I have it on a trickle charger and with the engine off I noticed a weird humming/buzzing sound. It seems to be coming from underneath, somewhere in front/near the right rear wheel. I waited 30 minutes to see if it would turn off once the car cooled. But it's still running. I've never heard that before and no wonder the battery died. What's going on? This is a mystery.
Manual... I hear this buzzing sound, mostly during deceleration, on 2nd, 3rd or 4th gears between 2300-3000rpms, very annoying on 2nd and 3rd gears, but can still somewhat noticeable on 4th gear. Can also hear it on acceleration, sometimes on 2nd and 3rd gear, silent on 4th gear.
I've turned off soundaktor thru VCDS, but still hearing this sound so I was thinking that the hockey puck is still spinning, albeit not as annoying as when it's 100%. So I tried to disconnect it, still hearing that buzzing sound. I even removed all stuff from my car and it's still buzzing. Really annoying, specially if you just want to hear the sound of the engine braking on deceleration.
2003 Jetta GLS 1.8T
Every time I press the brake pedal a buzzing sound can be heard. Every single time. Without fail. Moving or parked.
I just had the tranny rebuilt and it's possible something was broken or unplugged. I've done a search on google and can't find anything specific. I'm thinking something to do with ABS. Problem started a week ago when it came back from the rebuild.
I'll try to get a video and post. Was funny at first. Now it's annoying.
