Any link to a non-led tail light removal diy? I tried searching, didn't get any results. Any write up or diy on it?

I just bought OEM R32 tinted tail lights. How do you remove the OEM stock tails. I've been trying to find some info on this subject but, only found this,
I'm pretty sure that he is working on a GTI. Is it the same as a R32 because mine doesn't really look the same. my interior trim doesn't seem to peal that easy or at all. Do I need to cut the trim with a blade or remove any plastic trim pieces to access the lights?
I'm trying to remove the tail light units from my 2002 Toyota Yaris.
I've removed the central nut from the inside but the light unit won't budge. There are two other protuberances coming through the metal body work which are a plastic spigot, lower left of the metal bolt, and rubber type insert further away to the upper right.
I'm also presuming that there is some stiction with the gasket.
Even with the nut removed the outside of the unit has zero movement while the inside has a slight amount of flex.
Am I missing something?
Remove or replace the tail lights on a B6 wagon? I'm changing mine out tomorrow with the new smoked tail lights and was wondering if there's anything I should know ahead of time. Or even a step by step order to removing them.
View 4 RepliesI took my car into the dealer and got the mech unit replaced. I drove it home in the rain and when I parked it I noticed bad condensation in the driver side tail light.I have never noticed this before and do not no if it was there when I bought it. Anyways, I did some research about the issue and I found that it is a common problem. I have read that it is normal because it is vented and others say take it to the dealer and get it fixed?
View 23 RepliesI installed LED R tail lights from ECS and now when I put the car in reverse with the lights on the right inner tail light goes out. It's not the light because I already swapped it for another one and it did the same thing. I do have a RVC and the trigger wire is hooked up to this light but the stock lights work fine and I still have the issue when I unhook the RVC.
View 12 RepliesPicked up the r32 last July and the car has been running great. No problems and still a blast to drive. My right tail light, however, will not work when I put my lights on. The signal works, brakes work, the flashing lights when I lock the car are fine, but my right signal tail light stays out. Thought it just might be the bulb at first, switched it but it didn't make a difference.
Went to the dealer for an oil change and mentioned the problem saying maybe I shorted a fuse or something and I can just replace it. He told me it was a little deeper than than that and need to check it out first.
I just notice some condensation in one of my tailights.
There's been some snow and ice lately and I'm wondering if that's what caused it.
Is there anyway I can get rid of it? Is it from the water getting through the gaskets/seals?
Also looked through our manuals and saw jack. Looked at the inside of the rear hatch and saw no easy way of replacing the rear tail light bulbs. I'm guessing that i would have to take out the plastic and/or carpet to get to it?
View 6 RepliesMy mk4 the right rear tail light isn't working. So what I swapped the light board from the left side and the issue followed. What can I check to get it going again? The rest of the lights on that panel are working.
View 1 RepliesSo I just noticed the other day that my passenger tail light has water inside it. How that even happened.
View 2 RepliesI am in the middle of doing some investigative work for autokey and upon taking apart the Hatch Door rear tail light assembly, I noticed a spot where a bulb should go is empty (on both the driver and passenger sides, same spot).
Now, I am 99% sure these lights are SUPPOSED to be omitted, as the spot where a bulb would protrude into the actual tail light assembly outlined above has a metallic dome over it to keep it sealed. Just wondering why there would even be a socket available for a light? Is it part of a European package we don't get in the States?
After replacing a tail light, my rear hatch quit opening, power windows quit rolling down, interior lights quit working, and also my key will not lock or unlock the doors. My first thought is a blown fuse. How did you solve it?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2011 Jetta TDI and the drivers side tail light on the trunk is out. I opened the trunk and popped the cover off the rear of the tail light and it seems the connector is loose. I tried for about 10 or so minutes to get it back into place but I couldn't. I don't know if the connector is broken or if my hands are just too large to fit into the area. I plan on taking it back to the dealership to get them to fix it. I just picked up the car. Is this a sign of wiring issues or just someone at the factory jamming a connector into a hole so they could move on a couple of seconds faster?

my right rear tail light is not working. I tested the tray on the left side and the brake light works, so the problem must be from the right connector or right wiring back somewhere.
any tips on how to find the problem from here?
Installed last week, LED no fog. Everything worked great but I had the bulb out error. Yesterday, I had the coding done and I now have an issue. Worked fine when I left the dealer and this morning I have a "Check Right Rear Light" warning. The right rear is no longer lit. Back up light works, tail light does not. I think the dealer changed byte 18 to 21 but also changed the setting from NA to something else... maybe ROW.
View 9 RepliesWhich is the rear indicator/signal part of the tail light? , Is it the larger Blinking RED outside part of the lower THIN clear/or coloured bulb?
View 16 RepliesWent to the car wash today. After that I notices some water in the left trunk area. I think is is coming from the left tail light.
Is there a seal between the tail light and the car body? I did not find one...
I just got some condensation in my driver side tail light.... It just rained heavily and then I washed it BC I just got the opti coat done.... Wanted to see the opi work!!!! Anyways now I have this condensation....I have the dark cherry red non led.... I have the JL stealthbox installed... Never happened before had the car about a year now?
View 12 RepliesIs it possible to enable a rear fog light on the normal stock tail lights.
I understand I will need a euroswitch, another trigger wire and VAGcom; but can the stock tails do so?
Wanting to lamin-x it and the compound curves may be easier to do with it removed. Can't find anything about removal of these.
