View 9 RepliesI was having battery issues and had a friend hook up a battery charger to my car today. They pulled some relays to see if they could figure out why it was starting right. When I left for work the car started fine but I notice my windows would not roll down at all. I figured no biggie I would deal with it tomorrow.
When I got to work I realized my key fob had stopped working too. Again, I have a key will unlock it after work and deal with it later. After work tonight, I go to the car, I tried the key fob and nothing. No surprise. But I unlocked the driver door and it won't open, try to unlock the trunk it won't open.
I was told they pulled the relays and reseated them when messing with the battery. I can see a red light flashing below the radio. To top it off the keys to my other car are locked in the trunk along with my purse!
2002 Jetta Turbo 1.8....
When I purchased the 09 XLS last year the seller told me the trunk/cargo light didn't work and I assumed it was a bulb. The bulb could have come in handy several times so I attempted a repair. I removed the bulb and it seemed to be ok, but I decided to replace it will a new 2825 and it also didn't work. I'll assume there is no dedicated fuse specifically for the trunk/cargo light so I guess there must be a break in the line.
Is this common for the Avalon in our generation? It's too cold to diagnose so I'll have to wait for warmer weather unless it's an easy repair.
I just noticed that even when switching the dome light off, the trunk light never shuts off with the hatch open.
I assume there is no way to turn it off other than taking out the bulb?
I have a 2011 Jetta TDI and the drivers side tail light on the trunk is out. I opened the trunk and popped the cover off the rear of the tail light and it seems the connector is loose. I tried for about 10 or so minutes to get it back into place but I couldn't. I don't know if the connector is broken or if my hands are just too large to fit into the area. I plan on taking it back to the dealership to get them to fix it. I just picked up the car. Is this a sign of wiring issues or just someone at the factory jamming a connector into a hole so they could move on a couple of seconds faster?
View 7 RepliesI just noticed the trunk (inside) light was out. So I replaced it and it still doesn't work. I put a 'test light' on the pig tail and one side lights up so I guess there is power there. Once the' light holder' and lamp is in there it still doesn't work. Also when I put the 'test lamp' on one side of the metal holder the 'test light' lights up.
When I put it on the other side it makes the bulb almost glow like half voltage. What it could be? What is that resistor there for ?
Went to the car wash today. After that I notices some water in the left trunk area. I think is is coming from the left tail light.
Is there a seal between the tail light and the car body? I did not find one...
Installed aftermarket radio with no problems in 2006 Jetta. Ironically, now the trunk open light is lit on dashboard even though the trunk is definitely shut and the horn wont beep when locking with the keyfob although the doors do lock. I researched here and found some had to push their radio (oem radio) in a little bit to make contact with "microswitch?" and then horn worked..
Im not sure if its that car thinks trunk is open when it isn't or that it thinks the radio is stolen (when it clearly isnt, just an aftermarket) one and thus won't actually arm the alarm..........however, doors are locked, and red light blinks in the door as well as the exterior visual confirmation of alarm being on.
My car got broken into 2002 VR6 4 motion.
Windows no longer roll down.
Trunk doesn't open.
Interior lights don't turn on.
On my 06 V10, the 112v outlet in the trunk seems to be not working. I checked the fuse and it looks okay.
View 8 RepliesMy 2004 trunk controls are not working? the key nor the door, or the switch on the lid will open or close the trunk? there is no sound either when activating any switch or button! Wondering if there is a fuse or connector that might be the cause?
View 4 RepliesWhile trying to connect my dome light to my map lights I touched the power wire to the dome light to metal, which blew my fuse. After replacing the fuse none of these lights work, nor does the light around where I put my key in the ignition, a voltmeter test of the dome light power wire shows no power to the dome light. I've read that I may have fried my integration relay, but the dealer doesn't know what this is, and I've also read that it may be behind the fuse box.
View 3 RepliesToday I changed my LH battery due to some issues i had when leaving the can unused for a day or two. I followed the changing procedure listed on the forum and everything went as planned. However now my power trunk wont work. I used the procedure to sync the power trunk but now when i hold the trunk button on my keyfob the lights flash etc but no sound or movement from the trunk.
View 4 RepliesI opened the boot via the door panel button. Loaded suitcases in and pressed button down on the boot lid.
The two hooks ( plastic and metal one ) directly came out and the boot lid did not move at all.
Tried a reset the whole procedure found on this excellent forum. but no result. I also tried to put my key in the boot lock and it doesnt want to lock or unlock.
I have had my '12 S for two weeks and love the car. I am just starting to figure out the car and what I want to update/upgrade. But the button on the driver's door isn't working. Before I take it to the dealer, for fear of looking stupid if the fix is simple, is there a fuse I should check or something else I'm missing that would prevent the button from opening the trunk? The fob works and if I use the handle on the truck it opens fine. If there is a fuse I should check?
View 14 RepliesOur 2009 LS trunk will not close, seems the power is not working it. Cannot find fuse box for it.
View 1 RepliesI have 2007 mica LS, the key fob and trunk button on dash stopped working the trunk. The button inside the trunk will close it but i have to use the key to open it. I have taken battery post off and checked fuses, but not sure if I checked the correct one.
View 2 RepliesThe button you press to automatically close the trunk on the rear of the car isn't working. When you press it, it just beeps and does nothing.
View 3 RepliesTrunk release switch on drivers door does not open trunk. Remote and key will open trunk. Sounds like a motor is trying to close the trunk when it is being closed, but does not pull it shut ?
1. I did pull on the switch
2. Gas door switch works fine
3. It is a standard trunk (not powered)
2006 Sonata GLS. When I lock/unlock door with keyfob, it beeps, but doors or trunks will not open/close. When I put key in ignition and either start or turn to on, I can press keyfob and lock/unlock doors and unlock trunk. Manual trunk release in drivers foot area does nothing unless car is on. Checked all fuses (passenger driver compartment and under hood). What is the exact fuse to focus on, or if this could be some other issue ? BCM ?
View 1 RepliesThe trunk lock switch on the d/s inner door panel has stopped working. Also both remotes won"t open the trunk as well. Everything else seems to be OK.
