Golf V R32 :: TPMS System Being Programmed To Know Location Of Tire Sensor?
Jun 16, 2016
Is the TPMS system in our cars capable of learning or being programmed to know which tire sensor is where? I know with my Vag-com I can separately see each sensor that is talking to the module.
Do we have the ability to do anything so the MFD is able to tell you which tire is low?

Another 5k miles and the maintenance required light has come on. The 300h wants its tires rotated. I don't want to take it into the dealer just for that. Which tire goes where in a Lexus rotation? Also how to make sure the tire monitoring system knows the tire location has changed? I can move the tires around myself but don't know how to reset the tire monitoring system to the new tire location.

So I had a bent wheel and had to replace it and the new one did not have the TPMS sensor so now I get a permanent low tire warning message.
Is there anyway to disable this warning? Alternatively how costly is it to get a new TPMS sensor?

I have one TPMS sensor that incorrectly tells me I have a flat when I do not. I presume the sensor is faulty because the wheel was moved to the rear as part of a recent service and the problem moved with the wheel.
What I find peculiar is that the flat tire warning comes at virtually the same time when I drive, about ten or so minutes into the journey, and leaves about five minutes later, usually not to return. Indeed, when I occasionally drive the car to work, I know when the signal will come on, within about .25 mile.

My TPMS light comes on about 75% of the time. (That's not the light for low pressure.) I took it in to the dealer once and they replaced the valve stem in one tire. It continued to come off and on intermittently. This time the dealer said they needed reprogrammed. It still continued. This time, they said there was no evidence of an error message while running diagnostics. They told me to just ignore it from now on.

So I was wondering where the O2 sensors are on the 04 f150s and if I could cut the rear set of cats out without throwing off those sensors?

Why my low pressure light is on and why my mfd is telling me I have an airbag fault? Where would I want to start diagnosing this problem? I ran power and ground wire with no sensor issues, but once the remote and RCA wires were connected I got the sensor issue.

I am a newbie Golf owner and have little trouble. I am not sure where is the map sensor located in my 1.8 tsi engine. I've been googling and have not found pic or technical drawing to be 100% proof which one is it.

Yesterday, my wife took my car to LA and the CEL came on and stayed on (it's not blinking). It doesn't seem like anything is really wrong with the car other than the light being on. My wife says it seems to be running fine since the CEL came on.
Then this morning, my wife turned on the car and the check tire light came on, but then went off. Last week, I had my new rims (19x.8.5) and tires (235/35-19) installed, so I guess that could have something to do with it. My wife checked the tires and there's nothing wrong with them.
I want to figure out what the heck is going on with my R (sucks that all this started happening the one time my wife took the car out of town....Murphy's law I guess). I have an APR stage 1 tune, and want to avoid potential issues with a punk dealership in LA. Consequently, I'd like to try to figure out what is going on with my VAG-COM before I take it to the dealer.
Here are my questions:
1. Could my new rims and tires have caused the CEL to come on and stay on? Seems unlikely, but since the check tire light started acting up, I though they might be related.
2. Is there a way to scan my car with VAC-COM to figure out what is causing the CEL?

Is it possible to disable the TPS using vag com?
I am using the car for the track and don't want to have sensors on several sets of wheels.

My wife drove over a big bump and triggered the warning light. I checked the pressure and they are fine.

Is there any way to turn off the tire pressure system? I put a set of new wheels without sensors on the car...I know the light was going to come on but need to know if there is a way to turn it off.

2009 Ford Explorer, 6cyl, 4L, 33K miles. When its started up, the message "Tire Sensor Fault" appears along with the low tire icon flashing (steady light after ~30 seconds). I can then press the reset button on my dash to clear the message. However, the tire light icon stays lit. I've checked and re-checked the tire pressure in all the tires (spare included) and I'm right at the recommended 32-34 psi on all the tires. No signs of leaks at all. I'm assuming one (or more) of the tire pressure sensors have gone bad and there's no way for a garage (or myself) to identify which one or repair this. Should I assume a trip to the dreaded dealer for this problem ???
