Actually, anything more than a half tank of gas will produce a sloshing sound. it's most notice able at low speeds, i.e. going over a speed bump. Also, when in D at idle speed, then hit the breaks, I hear a thud then all the sloshing of the gas. The dealer just told me this is normal. I didn't hear it before the gas tank recall.

View 2 RepliesLast night on the way home from running some errands I noticed some sloshing sounds coming from the rear of the car at low speeds. I thought maybe I had some container back there (spare oil, distilled water, etc) that just happened to be making the noise. I noticed it again this morning and it seems to me like the only thing it could be is the gas tank. I don't seem to hear it at anything but low speeds and even then it is not constant. Is this normal? I just filled up the tank for the first time two days ago and I currently have probably 3/4 to 7/8 of a tank at the moment. Is this normal? I'm not used to hearing sloshing in the gas tank.
View 4 RepliesFull tank and the gauge reads empty. Has happened to me a few times. Occurs after a fillup and disappears after the car is left to sit for a while off. I would hate for this to happen on a long drive. Dealer hasn't been able to duplicate the issue. Am wondering if this might be related to the hiccup in some way. Also, am wondering if this is a fuse issue.

View 3 RepliesMy 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R (bought in Feb ’11, and has 4k miles) has already had several issues in its short life. In just the past week I've noticed a sloshing noise coming from the gas tank. I first heard the noise when I was backing out of my driveway. I also notice the sloshing sound whenever I go over a bump or come to a quick stop. To determine where exactly the noise was coming from, I parked the car, turned off the engine and I pushed on the rear bumper to make the car move up and down. After doing this I determined that the noise is definitely coming from the gas tank.
Is it normal to hear gas sloshing around in the gas tank when driving? Could there be something wrong with the gas tank?
I had my gas tank replaced recently and upon replacing the tank, I now notice a sloshing sound when I stop my car. It sounds like I took a gallon milk jug and turned it over completely to pour everything out- glug glug glug. It seems to be coming from the fuel tank and the car rocks back and forth a lot. Also had work done on the struts at the same time. What is the cause of this and is it safe to operate? Is it reasonable to ask the mechanic to fix it? Is it possible that the wrong tank was put on my car? I've checked for information about this particular issue but have not seen any solution about this problem when it is resulting from a replaced part.

Tried couple times, I can still hear the noise feels like liquid sloshing noise coming from fuel tank. Even after I parked the car, tried to push the back side of my 2006 Toyota Camry, sounds like the fuel is sloshing from the tank. Is it normal? I never heard about this before, maybe I didn't notice. It was not loud but audible.

View 7 RepliesThis morning on the freeway, I was going to pass someone in 6th gear, put the pedal down start accelerating like normal, then suddenly at a little over 3k RPM the sound of the exhaust gets a lot deeper and it accelerates a little bit harder.
I know that boost starts to really kick in at about 3k RPM, but I have never noticed the exhaust get deeper like that. I did it a few more times and it seemed to stop doing it. I didn't notice the tachometer jumping around or anything so I don't think it is clutch slip.
Ok here is my question. I've noticed the power on my car has felt inconsistant for the last little while. I finally got around to logging the car and my boost peaks at mid 20's just over 3000 RPM and then drops fast to between 13-15 psi before I even get to 5000 RPM.
Under full boost I hear a low fluttering sound like the diverter valve opening and closing when this is happening. I also don't get the typical diverter valve sound when shifting when the car is doing this.
I took my diverter valve out and inspected it. I can pushing the piston up very easily with almost no resistance, is that normal? I would think that it should be hard to push the piston up if not wouldn't boost pressure be able to overcome the piston and leak past?
My mods are. HPA tune, HPA catted down pipe, and VWR intake.
Accessing the evaporator drain / Liquid "sloshing" sound in cabin. finally figured out how to do this, at least for the passenger side. Look at the picture of michael's trick for reinstallation of J523. Right next to the cable that gets pulled as a trick, you can see the rubber drain hose. The soft rubber hose connects to the plastic drain of the main HVAC assembly right there. Just pull it off and the backwater can flow right out into a bucket. Then you can unclog, make sure the soft rubber hose is not getting pinched, etc.

I filled up my tank this morning and everything seemed fine (the tank showed full an everything). I drove 20 miles and the gauge was on 2 bars. I though that was strange so I checked for a leak, there wasn't one so I went to a nearby gas station and filled up again to make sure I wasn't leaking fuel (this full up was for about .2 of a gallon so there was not a leak). Anyway I continued to drive and I received the blinking light followed shortly by the dash board lights going off and my car using its battery power up before stopping. Now I can't put the car in "ready" mode and can't drive, it just immediately tells me to add fuel. I believe my car thinks I do not have gas, when I still have a full tank. I have to get my car towed to the dealership now, but was wondering if this is a common problem and/or is there any easy fix for this?

The noise isn't there (i think) when making a normal turn. No noise either when car is stationary when I crank full left/right. Are the CV joints dying? I find it hard to believe that both sides are dying and with such low mileage...

This morning upon making sharper turns, I hear a sloshing sound of sorts coming from the passenger side of the dash. I've read that this might be a condenser issue, or something with the drainage and the AC. I'm not really sure. Before I take it over to Hyundai, I want to give it the chance to dry out or whatever if it is just some rain.
It's not leaking in the car or anything, I can just hear it.
I thought the air will be flushed out from the heater core over time. Heater works ok, but can hear a sloshing sound.
Does pressing the rubber heater hoses going to the firewall? Other methods? Take coolant tank cap off once in a while?
Both my wife and I noticed that whenever we brake moderately to hard, we can hear water sloshing around. The sound is coming from the driver side underneath, like maybe from the gas tank? Is this normal? We just purchased this car last month (2007 LS 460L) and love it! This is our third LS (Ls 400, 430 and now 460). What's going on?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2005 Prius with about 185,000 miles on it. I've noticed a water sloshing sound coming from the engine area whenever the ICE starts up and I'm accelerating from a stop. This sound does not occur when just running off the battery in electric mode... only right after the engine cranks up. After a few seconds the sound goes away until the next stop.
View 15 RepliesI have a 2001.5 Passat with the ATQ v6 and 5-sp manual tranny. A few weeks ago when I drove it up to Chicago, the heat completely stopped working. Cool air was coming out of the vents. Then when I drove back to Texas, the heater started working again. Now as of yesterday, the heater's out again. My temp sensor has the engine at 190 F, so I don't think it's overheating. One thing I do notice though is when I first start it and shift from first to second (or if I go over a speed bump), I will hear a water sloshing sound as if I'd hit a puddle. Whether it's the heater core that's blocked or perhaps the thermostat?

I've read several people in the forum who has encountered this. I read different remedies but the most common one is to have the CV boots lubricated.
I have a 2014 Wolfsburg with almost 5k miles. I am really now worrying about my water pump crapping out on me but I heard this grinding sound yesterday.
