The service light for the oil change came on this weekend. The car only has 2996 miles on it. The manual calls for the oil change at 5000 miles. My Touareg doesn't do this. Is this tied in to how you drive or is something wrong?
View 6 RepliesMy cousin got a 2007 Toyota Camry. Every time we did a oil change put 5 qt Synthetic ow-20, once he hit to 3000 mile on hard brake stop, the oil light is on, we check that has low oil level and oil change. came out 2 half qt oil.

View 4 RepliesAbout every 3000 miles my 93 xfi keeps roasting the back pass. side wheel bearing. It will start to howl so load you can't hear the radio over it.
When I changed the rear brakes I took off the spindle nut and I swear I messed the threads up or something causing this problem. I have torqued it to 129lbs like the manual says and it still does it.
Maybe I'm not packing the bearings well enough, or using wrong kind??
Oil in my 2012 Sonata 2.4L is black on the dip stick in 2000 to 3000 miles. Dealer says normal for this car, I don't believe it. What do others see? Also only gets about 32 mpg on highway and has black deposits on the tailpipe. I have gotten better than rated mileage on every other car I have owned so I don't believe it is my driving technique.
View 19 RepliesThis morning on my drive to work my car would choke whenever I hit 3000 rpm right when the car is sucking the most air from my intake, and especially on 3rd gear and up. After being on the road for quite some time my check engine light came on blinking but went away right after I stop pushing the car to 3000 rpm to switch gears.
The car is on APR Stage 1 with AEM Filter + Nuespeed Intake + BSH Inlet Pipe.
Recently added was a VW Diverter Valve D Version due to an oil leaking from my Old Diverter Valvue G version.
I have a 1997 f 150 4.6l, 145k miles, it seems that very slowly it is loosing coolant but i haven't noticed any leaks, it also burn about a quart of oil every 3000 miles but i was told that was normal?

P0050: H02S Bank 2 Sen 1 Heater Circuit
P0155: O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 2 Sen 1
P0304: cylinder 4 Misfire detected
P0688: ECM/PCM Power relay sensor circuit
I've had the car sitting for awhile because I lost my job and didn't have any money to roll it around much.
I just changed out the spark plugs and two of these had a white coating on them.. I was hoping this would take care of the misfire after I replaced them. I also bought a new battery because mine had lost charge a few times.
The Car will run with an engine check light, but if I go past 2500-3000 rpms then it will start blinking (which means don't drive it )
The oil has been sitting in it for about 2 months, so I'm about to go change that and I'm hoping this will allow me to drive it without issues.
Any of these codes thrown and know what they could be? Which O2 sensor (like a link to a website that sells them). Trying to get this thing running again.
After each maintenance I think my service reminder was reset to 10,000 miles. But after my 60k service it says 4700 miles until service is due. I tried resetting it myself and it still says 4700 miles. Is something wrong?

Yesterday the " Service Now" light came on as soon as i started the car. Stayed on for like 3 sec & went off. Didn't come back on again. Is the reminder set on a time interval clock? Car is at 18K miles and change, I had it serviced at all the factory intervals sticker on my windshield (from VW dealer) says next service at 20,345 so it looks like VW is on a 5K interval and my computer is looking for something else. Should I ignore the nagging until the proper service interval or take it to the dealer, then I can bug them about the laggy gearbox and other niggles ...
I have a 2010 corolla le with approx 54k miles. Should I have the trans serviced/flushed? Can I just do a drain and refill? Is it true that replacing the fluid will cause the trans to fail later on?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 F-250 Super Duty 6.0 4WD that has about 202,000 miles on it. I bought the truck with 83,000 miles on it and have never serviced the Torqueshift 5R110W Hi-Torque transmission. No new filters, no new fluid. In the interest of gettting the most life out of the truck I am trying to be a bit more proactive with maintenance. Does a flush/power purge will precipitate transmission problems? I am even concerned that dropping the pan and changing the filters and topping off fluid may cause problems. There are no problems presently and the dealership can't tell me that the've ever performed a transmission service for the previous owner via OASIS. Can I get away with a filter change and fluid top-off at a decent interval without incurring a condition that will require the transmission to be pulled and rebuilt?
View 10 RepliesYesterday had 5000 miles/6 months service performed on 2015 3500 miles AWD RX-350. Right after leaving the dealer felt that steering wheel is too light. After some driving it returned to normal, but with very light shimmer during driving (40-50 ml/h) and stops . Today was backing up from garage and shaking was much more noticeable when reversed and parked, also it was some kind of (I think) engine roar. After that drove almost 30 miles with some steering wheel light shimmering, but no other issues.
Is it normal car behavior, and I'm just paranoid ? Or, if there is a potential problem, what could trigger it, and how it could be resolved?
Code 0341 (cam sensor?)On my way home epc light flashed about 5-7 times and message saying service engine. 111,000 miles and just had intake manifold replaced and plugs and coils not to long ago. I have been feeling a slight hiccup at cruising speed and twice my gti has just shut off while driving. New fuel filter as well. I searched the forum and didn't come up with anything specific. Can I just replace the cam sensor or is there more to it than that.

View 7 RepliesYesterday, I swapped my OEM 18" setup for new 17" winter wheels and tires (set at 37.5 PSI at 55 F)). Today I drove 30 miles and then my TPMS light came on (Temp=36F). Pulled over, checked pressure - all tires at 36.5 PSI.
