I have noticed as it gets colder, my car rattles more. I keep hearing random rattles, mainly in the door panels. Looking for remedy apart from going up to the dealership?
View 5 RepliesI've done the best I can to block out an annoying sound coming from what I think are the door panels (unsure at this point).
When I bring the vehicle to a stop, release the brake and give it some gas (light to moderate acceleration, mind you), 90+/100 times I get a clearly audible "click" from one or both sides of the car. It seems to be emanating from the door panels. Sounds like hard plastic/plastic of maybe plastic/metal sound. It's not loud, but definitely there and definitely annoying since I enjoy driving without the radio on.
Issue was acknowledged by a tech and service manager at the dealership, who agreed this is not normal for a MKV, even one with 40,000 miles on it. However, they offered no solutions, only horror stories of fighting with door alignment on a MKVI.
How can I remove the kickpanel on the passenger side on a 940 lhd?
On the drivers side it has 2 screws. On the passenger side i couldn't figure it out.
I've got a 2002 jetta. new ecu, new cluster, new keys (new to me from a 2010 beetle) all installed but my windows, door illumination, locks and electric mirrors dont work. Windows will go up and down with key in door, and locks work that way as well. if i put my old cluster back, everything works fine.
View 3 RepliesI am trying to replace the MG2 on my 2002 Prius. I have to lower the Engine to get access to MG2. I have already lowered suspension member (sitting on ground with rack on top of it but still connected on sides), removed the torque rod and moved the inverter enough to get access to the LH engine mounting nut. My plan is to start lowering the engine from LH side to get access to MG2 without removing anything else. Is this going to work or should I remove more things?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2001 passat with leather interior and I'm trying to put new speakers in it but I can't get the door panels off and everything I read about doing it says to split the door handle but the rear and passenger door handles don't split they are one piece so how to get them off so I can remove the panel

View 3 RepliesI am replacing my front passenger side door on my 2000 Jetta GLX. I have been searching online for detailed instructions on how to do this, but have turned up empty handed.
View 1 RepliesHow do I remove the interior rear door panels?
My passenger side rear door handle does not work. My mechanic fixed it once, said the cable had jumped off the pulley. I figured it can't be that difficult to fix if I can get the door panel off.
I have a 2006 Azera and recently had the small part of the door handle fall off (part #83652E). I got a new part but wanted to know how easy it is to install this or whether I should have the dealer do it. Do I need a special tool to remove the door panel/clips or can I do it with something else. Once inside, is it just as simple as screwing the new part on through a hole in the door?
View 2 RepliesSo I bought a set of 05 towing mirrors today, got them installed and need to get the door panels off so I can disconnect the wire clip. I figured I would swap out the speakers while in there too so I assume 6X9? Also when I click the keyless entry button on the remote it unlocks all the doors but the driver door. The lock moves a little so I know it's getting a little tug but I still have to use the key to open it. What can I do to fix this?
View 10 RepliesI have a 2009 Camry XLE with the split reclining rear seats and the retractable (stupid) sunshade. I bought new 6x9's to replace speakers all around (Infinity 9632) with adapter plates. Got the door speakers replaced easily enough, but for the life of me I cannot figure out the rear deck. It is all one piece of plastic, no removable speaker grills. And of course the speakers are screwed in top down. Most of the posts I have found on the internet are either for previous gen Camry's or people who have the folding down rear seat.
So after a lot of manual labor I was able to remove the back seat completely and the center console. I can pop the front of the back plate up and peek in, but cannot get it to come out. I think something is odd with the models with the retractable sunscreen and reclining seats.
I have scoured the internet endlessly. Closest post I found was "take off the rear side panels (by the back window) and the deck should pop out. There are airbags in there, not very keen on forcing anything.
The car has the "premium" JBL sound system which I found to not be so "premium" and was a serious step down from my last car's factory stereo.
My RX 350 is 5 months old, 8000 miles. It has developed very annoying rattling noises under the rear seat and, sometimes, rear door panels.
View 1 RepliesTwo part question:
-Audio is my hobby. I hear things that many people don't. One of the things I'm hearing from my Sound System I is a faint buzzing/vibration in many of the speakers. Some of it can only be heard in certain songs (Steely Dan/Jack Of Speed - Great song!), or when playing an audio book. Most of the time, it comes from the woofers, but with audio books (spoken word), I can hear it from midrange/tweeters as well.
-I've had the car at the dealer multiple times for this. They did replace one speaker and claim to have parts in order to fix it. I suspect that the speakers are just vibrating on their mounts, or vibrating something inside the door. I might be able to fix it. How to take the door panels off so the speakers can be accessed?
I found the tutorial on removing the rear door panel, but I could not get the front door panel removed. I worked on it and got the 3 screws out, but I tried pulling and heard a snap so I might have already broke a clip.
View 1 RepliesI am quite displeased with the creaking and rattling noises I keep getting from my 2012 3.6 Premium's door panels and dash. I have already had these looked at by a dealership multiple times in the last year or so. Each time they "fix" it, the noises go away for some weeks and always keep coming back in one form or another.
I have an appointment with a different dealership this week. I hope they will be able to fix this for good. However, the noises have really spoiled the experience of this car. I wonder if all Passat's suffer from this issue. Just wanted to vent, don't know how else to let it out of my system
