Got my car back today from the panel shop, everything was fine except for the auto up/down remote on the key that opens and closes the windows/sunroof by remote, this doesn't work, how to reprogramme it ?
View 16 RepliesI have a , 4 door, 5,000 miles... had it for over 3 months now, car has been flawless except for a faulty driver side window switch (rattled bad when playing music) so dealer replaced and it still rattles but it's not as bad, that was about a month ago, now I noticed that the automatic driver window up/down does not work anymore. The window still goes up and down perfectly fine...but it's not one touch you have to hold it, all the other doors work fine on one touch and the drivers used to work until now...
View 16 RepliesThis problem started a month ago but was intermittant. Now the passenger window is down and I can not get it up. The keyless remote doesn't work at all. I open the drivers door with the key and I can open the drivers door and window from inside but not the passenger door or window.
It is now raining with my window open and a plastic trash bag over it.
No mods to front or rear lights, no leds of any kind. No other vcds coding was done or has been done.
I decided that i did not want my DRL's on, so i ordered a Euro switch with auto function from ECS. Took out the old switch and installed the new one. Nothing worked right at all, DRL's were still on. Auto function no longer worked!!. So through VCDS i disabled the DRL's. Great, problem solved you say...NOT! Now the auto function, meaning the lights coming on and off using the sensor in the windshield just keeps the lights on all the time no matter day or night, like an always on setting.
The other settings work, so 1 click over and the parking lights are on no headlights, another click over and all the lights including the headlights are back on. So my issue is what happened to the auto function??? No codes in VCDS 09 cent. elect. I swapped out the original switch which worked perfectly, it now does the same thing that the euro switch does, full on in auto no matter day or night..So what am i missing? It bothers me that there are no codes and that i dont have use of the auto function.
How to shut off the feature that cuts car off when you unlock doors after using your remote start?

Now I know I know....dealership can set the settings for my unlock button to automatically set my windows down and sunroof back. But as we all know going to the dealership for anything is so annoying. That being said.... How to set/program it?
View 6 RepliesI have my 2011 and all of a sudden my car stopped being able to sense it in the car or outside the car. The lock and unlock function still works which is puzzling, and when I tapped it to the power button in effort to start the car, the car still does not start and says it can't locate the key. I dropped a 85lb weight on it the other week at the gym but it appears there wasn't any damage when I took the key apart, and it was working fine up till now. The spare works fine, but I'm just hoping I don't have to buy another key...
Also noticed this is the same part number, and since i only need the new circuit board I'm assuming, I wonder if its the same size as the prius one...
I have a 2001 passat that i have had for about 2 months. recently, about 2 weeks ago, i started having problems with the remote unlock feature. it will unlock the driver side door fine, but when i press the unlock button twice, the driver side lock makes a noise but the other three doors remain locked. when i press the unlock toggle on the driver side controls with the window controls, all the doors unlock fine. i have two remotes, one is pretty new and i just got it programmed (within a month) and neither one will unlock all the doors.all the other functions of the remote work fine.
View 4 RepliesHave problems getting window tinted? Just got my RC 350 and i took it to one of the most referred places in town for tints. (small town)
Anyways, they are having trouble with the drivers side window bc that little autoroll down feature when you open the door keeps on messing up the bottom edge of the tint. I've already taken it back to the shop for them to fix it and now I have to take it back on Monday to get it fixed again.
Any way to disable this auto roll down feature on the rc 350?
I have a 2007 GS 350 and i bought the weather tech window visors for my car with matching floor liners. Both look great on the car but I am having problems with the window visors. Since installing them (following the directions letting them sit for a week or so without opening the windows) I still don't have the automatic feature back to roll up in one click of the switch. once it hits the top of the window the safety feature kicks in and the window rolls back down. if i hold the window switch all the way it will close. I am trying to get back that one click and automatically closes. my friend has the same visors on his is 250 and his still works fine.
View 4 RepliesMy key fob doesn't open the tailgate window anymore. No noise that it unlocked, nothing. I tried the spare fob, same results. What would be entailed in repairing this? I changed a tailgate door actuator a few years ago & found that rather easy (with YouTube) so am not afraid to attempt it. I've searched around the web & haven't found anything useful.
Also, I do not see a manual way to open it. Am I right in assuming the fob is the only way?
Just the other day my remote began to stop unlocking my doors at all? And the hatch button works most the time along with the lock. Locking it always sets the alarm but on occasion it doesn't actually lock the door. Am I just out a whole key..
View 13 RepliesI'm over at my sisters and she is complaining that her ride height adjustment does not work. She needs to use it for the car to clear the end of her garage (there is a small ledge at the end) I hop in and push the button... nothing happens, nothing in the infotainment or MFA. I'm wondering if the switch is not making contact? Or could it have something to due with the not enough air pressure? I think I'll try to put it in "jack" mode, maybe that will reset it. Anything else I should try? I guess I'll drive it in to work for her (which is normally fun for both us, she likes to drive my R32 and I love driving the Phaeton )
View 18 RepliesThe 'convenience closing' feature on my Phaeton - as described in the two excerpts from the owner manual posted below - is not working. I can't close or open the windows using the key blade in the driver door lock, and I can't close or open them by pressing on the keyless access locking button on the driver door handle.
This has both myself and the Phaeton tech at my VW dealer perplexed. The Phaeton demonstrator at the dealership does not perform any of these functions either.
This feature works on your Phaeton? I am especially interested to hear from folks who have used a diagnostic scan tool (VAS 5052 or VAG-COM) to turn off unwanted chimes and buzzers. Right now I don't know if I have a problem with the car, a problem with the coding or adaptation of the car, or if the NAR Phaetons just don't perform as the owner manual describes them.
I have changed the batteries in the remote for my MY 2000 Jetta MKIV VR6. Now the remote is not working. A search suggests I need to program the remote using a specific procedure. Alas, I have found various procedures, and so far none has worked.
First of all, I have two keys, Both were functional. One still is.
What I tried:
-Put key with fob in ignition and turn key to accessory mode position.
-Wait 5 seconds
-Hold lock button on 5 down for 10 seconds.
-Turn ignition off and remove key.
-Close doors on car and trey to lock/unlock - not working!
I'm sure I can find a few more suggested methods, but what's the proper method?
the problem is, i was listening to music in my prius 05 setting the equalizer. After i got my work done, i pulled the key and closed the door. when i was pressing the lock button in my remote key, it wasnt working. Then i went inside my car and even the locks and other things werent working.. nothing was working eventually.
View 7 RepliesThe remote locks on my 2000 Jetta GLX have been working intermittently for almost a year. I had been using the manual key to lock/unlock until finally the manual lock alarm disarm also became intermittent and I found myself stuck at a truck rest stop at 1:30 a.m. with my alarm repeatedly howling into the night and no way to disarm it. I felt caught. I felt trapped. Like I was found guilty of a crime I had never committed. I knew then - I had work to do.
My research in the forums indicated that the door lock assembly was a common culprit - a gremlin, often leaving headaches as it's only calling card. I worked quick, pulling a driver's side door lock assembly out of 2003 at the local junkyard and replacing it no problem. To my surprise, although this DID fix the manual locking/unlocking/alarm disarming problem, it DID NOT fix the remote unlock problem. The culprit was still at large.
Business as usual with intermittent remote unlocking/locking/trunk-popping for weeks until my dash threw the "AIR BAG FAULT" light. I decided to question a local garage owner who's VAGCOM told me that it was caused by something on the driver's side door. He was busy, but it reset fine and I was on my way. I know now that I should have asked for the code then but I was caught in the beauty of a girl who only nails polish was the grease and dirt of the car she worked under. And about a mile down the road, the light came back on.
Now, the "AIR BAG FAULT" light is on as soon as I start the car. However, the time seems to vary slightly before the Jetta beeps and tells me in faded red letters "AIR BAG FAULT". Sometimes right when I leave my driveway, sometimes not before I drive a mile or two down the road. My remote unlock is still working intermittently.
I need both my airbag fault and the remote unlock fixed. I'm wondering if these two problems are related? Like maybe there's a loose connection that is causing the airbag sensor to short and it's beeping when it bumps out of place and maybe the intermittent remotes are being caused by slamming of my driver's side door too hard & it's losing a connection as well. I tried putting a little conductivity jelly in the female clip that goes to the window regulator motor because I heard that the airbag sensor is in there somewhere but it didn't make a difference.
My 2007 ES 350 will chime if the car is on and the door is opened. It will also warn you if the car is on and the electronic key becomes out of range.
One day both of these features stopped working. Everything else seems to be working just fine.
The intermittent feature on my windshield wipers has stopped working. I replaced the multi-switch and it still does not work. What I can do to get this feature working again?
View 2 RepliesThe destination feature on my 2011 has stopped working. I input all the information as to where I want to go and then press the icon to calculate the route and a window pops up saying that the calculation of the route failed. It does not say why it failed, just that it failed. I have tried several different destinations all with the same result.
