The other day my passenger headlight went out. Today I went to replace it, after much frustration I pulled the bumper and the headlights. I first tried swapping ignitors to see if that was the issue. I went to switch the ballast and now nothing is working except for the passenger high beam. I made an apportionment with the steelership. But I wanted to see if there was anything I maybe able to do to avoid this.

View 4 RepliesLast year at WiTW, abeR noticed that my headlights were all cockeyed. He attempted to fix them but couldn't get them to work properly. The self levelers weren't working and the passenger side was always shining for squirrels.
I took it to the dealership and after a bit of troubleshooting, they replaced the entire headlight assembly. Warranty is good.
All was good with the world, but now we discovered that the passenger side is acting up again. The self levelers work when you turn on the car, but the shutter to put on the brights on the passenger side will not work when you pull the stalk.
Just seems weird that this unit is so much trouble.
2011 golf 2.5l. It all started a year ago, I changed a bulb.from there the head light error came on. I switched out the head light switches on both. Driver Side works all the time and both have been.now getting same problem it in passages side. Have to press the wire for the head light to even turn on sometimes ...... Not under warranty sense I replaced the bulbs my self..... I asked if I can get new wiring. But got a laugh and got a reply that I have to replace the whole head lights it self as a unit. So if I do have to go that route . Not hide stock head lights.
View 5 RepliesMy 2006 Prius (Model NHW20) has a strange headlight problem. On the passenger side, the high beam light is out but the regular headlight works.
On the driver side, the high beam is working but the regular headlight is out.
I don't think it's the fuses but I'm not sure. No amount of interchanging the following fuses changes anything about the issue:
1. 10A H-LP HI RH
2. 10A H-LP HI LH
3. 15A H-LP LO RH
4. 15A H-LP LO LH
Two months ago I walked out to my car as it was remote started and realized the driver side headlight was out. With a quick tap to the lens it was fixed with no further problems to date. As of yesterday my passenger side headlight and side marker went out. The first thing I tried was the tap method which only brought the sidemarker back to life. Could it be the bulb or a worse problem. I am not sure if its just the bulb seeing that the side marker is going off and on.
View 2 RepliesI dropped off my 2012 Passat to the dealer this morning because the driver's DRL was out and the passenger headlight was out. Normally I'd change bulbs myself and be on my way but since this is new and under warranty, I let them do the work.
Anyway, fixed the DRL (bad bulb). But the passenger headlight assembly needs replacing. Seems I have fallen victim to a melted housing causing a failure. I've read about the situation somewhere here on the forums and suspected it might be the case. So VW is 2-3 days out on getting a new part and I'm in a loaner for the time being.
I'm guessing this happens a lot with this part. I wonder if VW will issue a recall in the future.
I have a 2007 VW Passat Wolfsburg Edition. The passenger side headlight went out today. This is my first VW, but I've never had a headlight go out this early. A few questions:
1) Is this normal?
2) How much is a new bulb?
3) Can I replace it myself or should I go to the dealer?
My passenger side headlight just went out. I have the HID with AFS. I can't seem to get the back piece out due to the washer being in the way.
View 1 RepliesThe passenger side headlight of my fiance's 2007 Prius keeps going out intermittently. It's a touring model with HID's. I replaced the bulb already and the problem persists. I searched and found that there is a TSB about it [URL]...................... It sounds like it's either the bulb (which I replaced), the wiring, or the HID ECU.

View 8 RepliesLast night the passenger side headlight did not come on low, but when i switched to high beam it came on. It goes out only on low beam. The driver side headlight works both high and low. Is there a fuse for passenger side low beam? I wiggled the wires and connector to the bulb itself with no luck.
View 7 RepliesMy Sonata 2011 Limited passenger side headlight went out yesterday. I checked and the bulb was still good. I even tested it on a brand new bulb (i keep a spare pair with me just in case) without any luck.
I brought the car to the dealer. The service advisor suggested the headlight is out but I explained to him that was not the case. He still wanted me to pay around $95 for the diagnostic fee which i refused to pay since my car is still under the 5year/60K miles warranty. I do not want them later telling me the bulb is bad and I have to pay another $65 to get it replaced while it is still good.
Before that, the left turn signal was blinking rapidly and it is an on and off problem. Hence, I suspected there is a electrical problem with the car. I do not have HID or any additional electrical equipment installed beside what came with the car originally.
So I just recently purchased an HID kit for my GLI. After installing i went to turn them on and my passenger side is out. But when we tested both sides individually they both worked fine. I checked the bulb and tested it with a new one and the new one didnt turn on either. We tried 3 different ballasts and still nothing. I took it to my local shop where i bought them and they were stumped as well. We tested it for power and yes there is power getting to it. Along with all this, my highbeam light on my dash is on?
View 2 RepliesPassenger side light is not working. When the regular lights are on the bulb is not working, when the high beams are on, its working fine.
I guess this is called the headlight (H11 bulb).
I have a 2008 Prius pkg 6, passenger side headlight goes out, and then later comes back on. Went to parts store and they sold me a lamp to replace it with. Not only do I not know how to replace it, I do not know whether it is a Halogen or HID lamp?
View 10 RepliesMy 2006 Passat has moisture in the passenger side headlight. Not sure how it got there, or how to get rid of it. The mechanic at the dealership said to drill a hole in the bottom of the light (but that sounds like a BAD idea).
How I can remove the moisture from this without replacing the entire headlight housing? I thought that maybe I could remove the bulb and use a hair dryer on low to try to evaporate the moisture.
My passenger side headlight(low beam) isn't turning on. Replaced the bulb. The light flickers and dies out.
View 1 RepliesHave a 2004 accent that is having an issue with the passenger side headlight going out. Checked bulb and it s ok, put it all back together and light works fine.
The plastic at the top fitting for the connector to the bulb is melted took connector off to check voltages at the three pins and have 12v on each pin( i don't think this is correct sounds like they are shorted out) , on the drivers side headlight top pin has about 2.3 v( for high beam) right side pin has 12v ( low beam) and left side pin 0 v( ground)
Also with the car off and parking brake off headlights do not come on only daytime running lights. Shouldnt headlights work on low and high beam with car off. All fine with car running.
What is the correct voltages for headlight connectors and if the headlights should work with car off.
