View 17 RepliesWas driving normal and my 2004 r32 died. It felt just like it ran out of gas. Fuel pump was not making any noise. I replaced fuel pump relay and now i can here the fuel pump making noise. Pulled the fuel pump line off and fuel is coming out the line. So now i checked for spark and have none. I have 12 volts at the coils. I ohmed out the crank sensor and have .777 k ohms. I also checked codes with generic snap-on scanner and found no codes.
View 2 RepliesToday i took my wheels off and installed the anti rattle caliper clips. They were missing and my brakes were making a ton of noise so my tech recommended it. I have them installed properly from the instruction i was given, and all the sudden my brakes hardly work, and the pedal goes to the floor. Im not leaking brake fluid anywhere, and everything is hooked up and fastened properly.
View 14 RepliesTrying to isolate a troubling noise from the back. The ONLY place the car makes this sound is angling out of my driveway, which I always do to avoid scraping. This twists the car along its length, because the last bit of the driveway slopes down into the street beyond, and the street goes uphill to the right. So it's down one angle while heading up another. It's a loud heavy snap/clunk, like something unloading tension. I think.
Have a UNIbrace in place, took it out for a while, no change. Next to investigate is RSB doing something. I'm thinking I should just undo the end links so the bar is not in play... then if that sound is still there I know that's not what's causing it.
But... do I want the weight of the car off the wheels to undo the end links (top bolt that doesn't go through the shocks, of course). Or does it not matter? I don't wanna release tension abruptly (speaking of which) by undoing incorrectly and have something go boing and smack me in the face. OR, I guess the proper way to ask is "What's the correct way to take load OFF the RSB so I can undo the end links?"
Need new tires for my R32. I am not satisfied with the OEM Dunlop tires, will not buy them again. They make too much noise!
View 24 RepliesI'm working on getting my GMC seirra 1500 5.0 L running. Last fall When I was making a trip to another town, it broke down. When it broke down it smelt like plastic was burning, I was unable to figure out what the smell was.
First I though it was a bad battery connection, or that the starter had went.
I changed the Battery, made sure the cables were good. changed the starter and it still doesn't work.
I know the battery is working for sure because There is power to the lights so I can turn on the brights. There is no power to anywhere else on the dash though other then the icon that shows the brights are on.
When I try to turn the engine over, nothing happens at all. Doesn't even make a clicking noise.
I have a 2009 Accent 4-door sedan.
I was told during an oil change in the spring that I would need a new battery soonish. I haven't bought one yet.
Last week I tried to start my car and it made a machine gun noise and wouldn't start. A friend jumped it and it started fine. I took it to Canadian Tire and a mechanic tested the battery and said it was over charged, 508 I think, should be 500.
Then today it won't start and is making the machine gun noise again. Now the horn and lights are dimming too when I lock it.
What is going on? I checked the posts; they are clean and tight.
just noticed when i cold start my car the turbo makes a whistle noise until it warms up and when i drive hard when its spoiled it makes that whistle again......
View 3 RepliesIssue with my 2001 gti. When i put it into 1st gear its makes a weird noise and even when i drive in first but once i go to second it goes away and in all the other gears it dosnt make the noise. I think its the throw out bearing.
View 8 Replies So for the past few months my car was making a strange noise under my car, it turned out it was the dogbone bolt that stretches to the bottom part of the transmission. Some how it got loose and was literally hitting my transmission. So we tried bolting it back on and won't screw which was kind of scary it had some type of play. Do I have to get a new 02m for a little ass bolt, do I weld it, or is there a subframe piece I can buy to replace the Broken part of the transmission.

There is a recurring moan that comes from the engine compartment around 40% of the time while the vehicle is idling. Sometime it's a moaning sound and other times it's more of a grunting noise, almost sounds like the engine is reving, only the RPM guage doesn't move.
Doesn't matter if the engine is hot or cold. Car has just over 2,000 miles.
Dealer, naturally, could not reproduce the noise.
Searched through old threads but didn't come across these in particular, a lot to look through so may have missed in Car has 270 miles on it.
1) When clutch is in all the way and the car is revved, I can feel it in my left foot. This can be felt when car is stationary or in motion - Is this common for MK6/R? I don't recall being able to feel this in my MKV GTI
2) When the car is in motion, I hear a knock noise right after the clutch is pressed in. I can only hear the noise if windows are open and stereo is off, and this only occurs while the car is in motion. - Is this a standard clutch noise for healthy clutch/pp/flywheel/throw-out bearing on this platform, or should there be no noises? It sounds like something I'd expect to hear with a messed up throw-out bearing.
I was wondering because serpentine belt is a big thing for 05 corolla since everything runs on it. I also had a 94 camry which had a alternator connected to a belt. and if i wanted to tighten up that belt i would just loosen the alternator and pull it. Is there a way to tighten up serpentine belt in my 05 corolla in the same way?.
View 1 RepliesIs it possible for the brakes to make some kind of noise when it's cold outside?
I've been noticing some kind of noise after a cold start, I'd drive the car a little bit then apply the brakes and it would just make this random noise coming from the front-right side of the car. It sounds like a grinding noise, but I can't really tell. It doesn't create an issue either, I'll let go of the steering wheel and the car doesn't drift in any direction at all, the noise appears but the car is slowing down properly.
The noise disappears though after the 1st time it happens, and would only reappear after you've turned the car off, parked it where it's cold and it would only appear after not using it for at least 2 hours. My dad already took it to the dealership and they said the brakes are perfectly fine.
So I recently bought a Hyundai Elantra Gt 2003 that I totally love. But ever since I bought it, it struggles to turn on. It makes a cranking noise before it turns on, and it takes about 2 to 3 times for it to fully turn on. I changed the crank shaft sensor and the fuel pump. What can it be?
View 1 RepliesSearched and posted to the Facebook group. Figured I'd cover all bases by posting here too. The noise my cooling fan makes is now noticeably louder than it was in the past. Mentioned to my shop and they said it has two stages, and that perhaps the first stage is no longer functioning, so only the second stage is running.
View 4 RepliesSearched but all I see about "scraping" is from too low or tires scraping but this is a different issue, well i think it is, so my bro has golf 2.5 2 dr, he installed his DG Springs today and it makes this scraping noise, it comes and goes, it makes the same noise even if in straight pavement or not bouncing...
Here is a video of it making that noise, it starts at 0:50 secs : [URL] .....
If the fuel pump in the right rear of the car is making an audible noise, does that mean it is the incorrect fuel pump, or is that normal?
View 2 RepliesSo my front right Wheel bearing is making noise and its a used Knuckle so its w/e. Guess ill use tonight to do all my bushings and fluids n stuff.
View 6 RepliesI've had my MY 08 R32 (Australian delivered) for almost 4 months. It's done about 8300kms so far and I've noticed awhile ago that the car makes clunking noise when I'm turning the steering wheel a lot at low speed (eg. car parks). I'll probably book in for a oil change and ask the service centre to look into it.
View 6 RepliesAt only 51,200 miles, it looks like my fuel pump is starting to go bad. Making way much more "noise" than usual.Guess this is what happens when you drive around with the gas tank on "E" half the time. $262 at 1st VW Parts.
