Launch control not working, even though everything is done correctly? I was sitting at a light last night, put it in "S" mode, turned off ESP, pressed the brake down, hit the gas and only hit 2K and a little lurching... Tried it a couple more times, same thing... Next light, it worked just fine... Next light, same things again happened with 2K only and lurching...
View 11 RepliesI think there may be something wrong with my launch control, or perhaps i'm doing it wrong. I'm noticing that it doesn't seem to be "launching," instead it'll sit there for a few seconds and then begin to move, but it never launches.
How i'm doing it: Come to a complete stop, switch to S mode, turn off ESP, foot on brake, accelerate to ~2-3k RPMs, let off brake. It was recently at the VW dealer for the hole-less grille and I told them to take a look at it, but they said they found nothing wrong with it.
I took note of this over the weekend. When you use Launch Control in tiptronic and you let the vehicle shift itself, it shifts at 6500-6700 rpms. But if you do Launch Control in Sport mode in first and second gear it shifts at 7100 rpms.
View 1 RepliesDSG tune was supposed to set launch control for 4200, 4300 or 4500 rpm launch but the gearbox will not go above 4000 rpm? My tuner has tried 3 different files (4100, 4500, 4600) on my 2009 S3 but the actual launch control rpm is still 4000.
View 19 RepliesI bought a gonzo tune with no lift shift and launch control. I backfire during the launch but not when I no lift shift. It only happens once in a while. Mind you my friend had the same car with same upgrades and his was working better. Both gonzo tuned. What could be the issue?

View 2 RepliesHaving issue where the set- on there cruise control doesn't work? I can set the initial speed, and increase it with res+ but I can't decrease the speed. This is difficult because I cannot unlock my ecu and change programs. I have a mk6 2012 gti.
View 6 RepliesSome of you with TDI's equipped with DSG's may or may not have these issues - but now there appears to be a fix. I've had a problem with a long delay in the DSG engaging from a stop. Also, I've had some engine hesitation and lurching issues.
Here is information from my paperwork after having those issues repaired. There was an ECM Software update to fix engine hesitation and lurching at low speed. That problem seems to be fixed.

Huge delay in the engagement of the DSG from a stop. There was a TSB for this specific issue dated on June 16, 2011. After my initial drive from the dealership to work --- this problem also appears to be fixed.

2012 Golf R ; only mod is APR software with launch control and no lift shift. When i shift hard into second power is cut like traction control is being activated. To be clear the instrument cluster indicates ASR is off. I have two codes that pop up in VCDS (no check engine light) these codes have popped up at least twice now. They are below.

As the title says the cruise control is not working, the cruise light comes on but no workee after pressing the the set button. I have followed the steps according the the owners manual.
View 13 RepliesSo yesterday we did a lot of work on my car. We accidentally pulled one of the ABS sensor wires out of place. I wasn't too surprised when the light was on, also with the traction control light on. (permanently) Going around a few turns this morning, I noticed a bit of under steer, which I thought was due to breaking in the new tires. But now that I think about it more, I don't believe my haldex is engaging at ALL! If I just replace or get the wire back in correctly (we tried, but may be in wrong...) will the haldex re-engage?
I want to get it scanned but I just started spring break and am flying back home to Minnesota on Monday. A friend (experience VW owner) will be holding her til then. I've searched and some people think the brake switch can cause the ABS light to come on with the CEL. Couldn't find anything about the Traction control light always on with the ABS light. My dash is just getting more and more lit up... The airbag fault light is because of the selt buckle resistance and the brake pad light is from the new porterfield's I put on... (i put ECS' brake loop on too but not working-do I need to get it cleared?)
So i had a long drive yesterday and i decided to use Cruise Control. I rarely use it, but I have tried it in the past and it worked. So yesterday it didn't work. The light never came on in the dash and it never actually worked. I plan on mentioning it to the dealer when i bring it in next time but i was wondering if there was something i could check for myself. Such as a fuse?
View 24 RepliesSo I noticed my temp gauge was starting to rise when I was on the freeway. I figured my fans were out but I just opened my hood and both fans were spinning. When I turned the car off both fans turned off but the temp gauge was almost into the red.
In the morning I turned on my AC and only the passenger side fan was working.
So I am not really sure what my next diagnostic step should be. The engine was not radiating any heat so I am not sure that it is even actually running that hot. Could it possibly be the temperature gauge? If I got a vagcom would I be able to check the actual temperature from there?
I am also concerned on how to find out if the fans are running at both speeds at the appropriate times.
Not sure if this is related but my cruise control stopped working a few weeks ago also.
I am proud new owner of a 03 Mk4 Bora GLI. I have some issues that I could use a hand with. My symptoms are as follows:
1. Speedometer stopped working.
2. Fuel gauge goes on the fritz (rapidly declines) when parked on an incline or going around corners.
3. Cruise control does not work. "Cruise" light come on the dash but the set/reset button on the stalk does nothing.
Note: All fuses are in tact.
On the way to work this morning my dash lights went out. At the same time, all my climate controls stopped working, as well as the wiper controls. The blinkers didn't work either. However, the radio and MFD were fine. The windows were frosting up fast (I live in Canada) but it's only a 15 min. drive to work so while trying to hold my breath, I was able to make it work OK. I called the dealership and they said to bring to the car right away. On the way to the dealership, the overhead console lights stayed lit and could not be shut off. When I got to the dealership and pulled my key out of the ignition the overhead console lights wouldn't shut off as well as the radio and my the lock doors/security arming on my key fob would not engage.
Later, on in the morning they said they think the problem is in a module possibly in the steering column. What is going on with my car?
I had my R for 6 years now and the electrical system is starting to go bad. Out of nowhere, my headlights, wipers, ac control, horn, and turning signals just stopped working. At least my radio works.
View 3 RepliesTurn on car and radio does not come on nor CD. The fan speed control does not work. Basically the main turning knob appears to be in-opt? Everything else appears ok. Says CD not available? There are the following symbols: -- -- on the screen where the radio station would display.
Is there a radio re-set ?

LOVE everything about the Prius C! Only issue is that once I punch the Bluetooth option, it takes at least a good 30 seconds to connect. Is that normal? (I use an iPhone 4S with updated iOS). I was driving an Elantra with the same feature and it hooked up within 5-10 seconds.

View 15 RepliesI have a1994 Dodge 1500 Ram Hemi extra cab 4door. The brake lights on the bed of the truck not the high light will blink on and off and sometimes stay on the other day my son-in-law narrowed the truck and a trailer and the trailer also blinked but again not the high light. Also the cruise has stopped working about the same time this started. At one time it was infrequent now is most of the time. Wondering if it could be part of the alarm system or something else it is driving me crazy.
View 4 RepliesI have a black, 1996 Volvo V90 that in the past month has begun acting up in an unsettling way.My car has begun to do this weird lurching thing when I have my foot on the brake. It sounds as if I am revving the engine, or as if the engine is trying to turn over. It is nearly always when my foot is on the brake pad, and the car will make the revving sound and try to lurch forwards- as if my foot was not firmly on the brake. When it first happened I even looked at my foot placement on the brake pad to make sure I wasn't accidentally pressing the gas with my shoe. It usually happens after it has been sitting in the unshaded parking lot at my summer internship, within the first 20 minutes of starting the car, and usually when my foot is on the brake (because I am slowing or stopped at a light) but it has happened a few times when I have begun to accelerate from a slow speed or stop as well. Recently, it did this while I was at a stoplight and it completely shut the engine off. It did this twice in that same drive home, but has not done it again in the past week (while it has kept doing the lurching thing and with much more frequency). I have explained my problem to several people and two of them mentioned that it could be the idler, I will not be able to take it into a mechanic until a week from today as I am out of state and cannot find a good Volvo mechanic in my area.
In the meantime, is there any information you can give me as to what is causing this? Or any possible preventative measures I can take until next week when I take it in? This problem is stressing me out every time I get into my car.
