Golf V R32 :: Lights Doesn't Chime

Got a 2008 r32 out in australia.
I have noticed that if you leave the lights on it doesn't chime at you like the other vag cars I have had in the past. This caught my wife out the other day but now she is experienced in jump starting it :-)
The basics work. The micro switch in the door must be working because the mfd shows the door open when it is and the interior lights come on as they should. The chime works if you drive off without your seat belt on so the chime must be working.
I realise the chime won't work with the auto light but i would have thought it should have when using the other modes.

While you're driving you can't type anything into the navigation or Bing, or whatever. So you're forced to use the voice control function.
When you push the voice control button it asks, "What would you like to do?" followed by a quick chime/ding that prompts you to speak. That's what it used to do when it worked.
Here's what it does now: I push the voice button, it asks, "What would you like to do?" BUT, the chime/ding doesn't sound and the system goes back to whatever screen I was on prior to pushing the voice button.
When I push the button after that, it does nothing. Voice command does not work for several minutes. The button becomes useless.
THEN, several minutes more pass by and the entire system restarts. Toyota logo comes on, "Warning be aware of surroundings ....." And it is ONLY after the system restarts itself that voice command works as it should. But this is unacceptable. Shouldn't take 15 minutes before it restarts itself before it works.

I don't know what is this.. Before 30 mins everything worked fine, I installed a new LED panel to the interior light centre and happened this!
The dome lights doesn't work with any door. Can be the relay?

I'm having some sort of electrical malfunction on the back of my Mk4 Gti. The right rear tail light, license plate light and back windshield wiper doesn't work. I replaced the bulbs several times and they keep blowing.

The previous owner of my passat seemed to have put a curse on all the features that I like. The alarm horn is mysteriously inop. And it doesnt chime when the lights are left on, which is a problem. What on earth controls the dang light chime?

On Monday morning, I turned the key to my V8 and nothing happened. No lights, no chime, nothing except the radio still worked. I called VW roadside assistance and the AAA guy who came couldn't jump start it. So the truck had to be (in park with the steering wheel locked and the key locked in the ignition) dragged onto a flatbed ...
Now one week later, they still can't figure it out...except to tell me that it's not the battery... I should have bought the Lexus.

ABS, Brake, Traction warning lights display and chime sounds when car is started in the mornings. These warnings disappear after car is parked for at least half an hour and then re-started.
They will come on then intermittently while going over a small bump, or sounding horn or turning on wipers. It's like the car is haunted.
So far the dealership has replaced a front speed sensor which solved the problem for a couple of weeks. Yesterday I returned it to the dealership with the same problem and they diagnosed it as a poor battery cable ground and declared it fixed. This morning the lights and chime were back on.
The power steering feels loose & less responsive while lights are activated.

I have a 2003 Toyota Prius, that you have to push sooo hard to make it stop, the ABS and brake light are on and there is some aweful chime that is solid and doesn't go away (very high pitch), I just got the car, and got it like this. I think its signs of a BRAKE BOOSTER, but I have been unable to loacted that, I found the Master Cylinder, but looks like you have to remove the Hybrid engine to do... Is there a procedure for this...

I can't find an explanation for this but I dropped the car off to have windows tinted.
This AM I picked the car up and when I press the lock button, the doors DO lock but there is no longer a chime and the lights dont flash.
I've gone into settings and made sure that that setting is turned on and it appears fine but it still doesn't work like it did yesterday.
FWIW - the chime does sound for UNLOCK, just not lock.

I have a 2003 accent and i no longer have interior lights or a door chime working..
I did have a electrician friend change out my hatch last week and pretty sure he shorted out the fuse. I can't seem to see what fuse it would be all seem good
From me checking around i am lead to belive the it could be (shunt connector, memory fuse, power connector, joint connector m31) multiple names for the same thing.
How would i check this? How is it removed?

One of my taillights stopped functioning last night on my drive home. The "check lights" message came up on screen, accompanied by a loud warning chime. However, it wouldn't stop. It kept flashing "check lights" over and over, and kept repeating the chime every few seconds for my entire ride home.
This morning, everything seems to be OK. The taillight is still out, but it's not chiming repeatedly (at least for now). What caused my Phaeton to freak out like that?

I'm trying to get an F150/1997 started that's been sitting for about 2 years. After installing the battery, turning the key, nothing happens. No click, no turnover, nothing. The dash lights come on along with open door chime.
What to check first or troubleshoot this? The vehicle was running fine when parked, battery removed. I was thinking the brake pedal switch might be corroded, or maybe someone unplugged something under the hood or tampered with something.

My drivers edition gti is 2 weeks old. In 2 occasions, when I put the car in drive, I got that warning chime and some message flash on my dash. It happens so fast that by the time I look to see what it is, it disappears. No warning message stays on, and all fluids are ok. Any clue what's going on before I take it to the dealer? Not sure if there will be a fault code.

Want to stop this chime via VCDS, but leave the cluster icon on, if possible. I found something on Ross-Tech's website, but it doesn't seem to apply to our cars specifically, or does it? Like, specifically the way I want it (chime down, icon stays) with success, and can walk me through it?

On the weekend, I was trying to change the cabin air filter on my 2012 Prius v. I turned on the passenger vanity light so I could see a bit better, and I am fairly certain I forgot to turn it off when I was done. If the light was on, it would have been on for almost a day and a half, because I didn't drive the car the following day (Sunday). That being said, I was somewhat surprised as I thought that newer cars would cut all accessory power if you lock the car, so as not to drain the battery (guess not). Today, I tried to start the car and the display lights up, but just doesn't start.
I didn't have much time this morning to troubleshoot (was going to work) but I figure tonight I can get it into maintenance mode and get a reading of the battery from there. I am assuming I could just buy a battery charger/tender and charge it back up (i.e. instead of buying a new battery).

Problem started within the last 2 days. Get in the car, insert key, turn to start car but the starter doesn't crank. All dash lights are on and I hear a clik when I turn the ignition key. Try it a couple of times and it finally starts. Here are the things I've tested:
1. Battery voltage reads 12.86V. Terminals clean.
2. I disconnected the ignition lead on the starter and connected a voltmeter between the ignition terminal and ground. Turned the key a dozen times and every time it read 12.4V. I'm thinking it may be the starter.
3. Remover starter and took it to a local auto part shop for testing. They say it works fine.
Now I am kinda stuck. I don't think it is the neutral safety switch as I saw 12V each time I turned the ignition. Nothing is completely ruled out yet. I suppose it still could be the safety switch
So I bought a new starter but I'm hesitant to put it in as I'm not sure that is the problem and want to be able to return it if necessary.
Put the old starter back in as I don't completely trust the part store testing. After everything assembled, I turned the ignition and no joy. Tried it a couple of more times and it started.

Since I purchased my 2010 Prius new, it often won't start. As instructed, I press the brake, push the power button for a few seconds, and hope that the ready light will come on. Typically, the dashboard lights up but the ready light doesn't come on. It can take ten minutes or more to get the car started. This happens when the car is cold, or has been sitting for a while, or randomly at other times. The Toyota service department will only address the problem if they can replicate it. I've left it at the service department for a couple of days until they experienced the problem. They reset a computer component which worked for three months. Now the issue is happening again and I'm back to trying to convince Toyota that it's a problem.

My Escape is starting to have starting problems. I go to start it and all of the instrument cluster warning lights come on, but the truck doesn't start. If I wait a little while, all of the sudden it starts but all of the sudden the cluster lights start flashing, the various warning beeps sound off, the emergency flashers go off, etc. This lasts anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes until everything resets and goes back to normal. What is causing this?
